I spoke/texted (screenshots attached) with Lindsey Cox off and on for about a day and a half about my father-in-law (she was sent a pic of his drivers license) buying a 2021 Tacoma. She even sent a price off and on for about a day and a half about my father-in-law (she was sent a pic of his drivers license) buying a 2021 Tacoma. She even sent a price breakdown for driving it off the lot. During our back and forth I noticed on the website the price had decreased by $1000. I asked about it and was told they would honor that reduction so I asked about giving her a credit card to guarantee I was going to buy the truck. She said she wasn’t allowed to take a credit card to hold it but she assured me there was no one else looking at it and my father-in-law and I would be fine to drive there the next morning. We drove TWO HOURS to walk in and be told the truck had sold and the buyer was waiting on financing. Mind you, we came with cash in hand to buy that truck. She knew we were coming but didn’t have the honor, ethics or morals to call and let us know the truck had sold to someone else. We never go desperate for a vehicle as many things can happen with a “deal” so not getting the truck isn’t the issue, the issue is her not letting us know the truck had sold before we got there when she knew we were coming. She did kindly (sarcasm) offer us the option to buy a 2016 at a sister dealership that she would help us get a good deal on. I would not believe it if this woman told me the sky was blue. DO NOT BUY USED CARS FROM THIS LOT! !! BUYER BEWARE! I Bought a 2017 Jeep Cherokee on 6/25/2022. Less than two months later the car completely broke down on the side of the freeway. Afte !! After getting it to a local jeep dealership and diagnosed, it turns out that Southwest CDRJ did not do any basic maintenance after receiving the used vehicle. The spark plugs were never changed and caused a a cylinder misfire and now have to pay over $800 in repair costs. When I reached out to CDRJ to find out if they would help I was denied. I understand that there is inherent risk when buying a used car, but it just seems like shady business practices selling used cars without properly pre-screening the vehicles. BUYER BEWARE!
