Fulfilling the negative stereo-type I had a tail light burn out and weld to the wire harness. I had to get it towed because it tripped a fuse that wouldn't allow the push button start t I had a tail light burn out and weld to the wire harness. I had to get it towed because it tripped a fuse that wouldn't allow the push button start to work ( couldn't sense the brake was depressed). When I spoke to Jeff, he stated that I needed a new brake light assembly. I question him on wether or not They could just replace the wire harness. He assured me that the brake light assembly had been damaged and needed to be replaced. He quoted me a price if $235. He then told me they had to order the part but it would be there the following day, He then proceeded to tell me there was a bracket loose in the engine compartment and a steering coupler need to be replaced, I am still trying to figure out how diagnosing a taillight gets you in the engine compartment and the steering system, but I digress. When I arrived I was given a $335 bill. I pushed back on the price and explained that wasn't what we agreed to over the phone. I then asked for the taillight assembly. Upon inspection it was as I originally suspected, the only part that needed to be replaced was the wire harness. I told him I was only paying for a harness. He agreed and adjusted the bill once they were caught. I will never go back to Hall Hyundai More

Mr. Riddle didn't even have the decency to look at me and act like he cared abt my problems with my car. I had to drive to hall Hyundai in Chesapeake to see the best service I can get from Mr Farhan Mughal. And I live 2 min from Newport News branch they suck well mr Gene Riddle sucks as a customer service rep. Thank u. More

That may be an odd way to say what I'm trying to convey, but my point is that often times the ones who work the hardest and provide the greatest service are the people in the back and who don't get the positive feedback that they deserve. Brenda you have been a great help to me with my service needs and you are an important part of why Hall Hyundai is such a great dealership. A lot of the people that you see are frustrated because they're cars need servicing which means their delicate schedules get knocked out of kilter. We sometimes take that out on the service people, but Brenda you truly have a way about you that can calm the nerves of a frustrated customer which opens the door for you to do what you do best and that is help meet the need. Based on my latest experience with their service department, I would not recommend this dealership. I had the oil changed in my Santa Fe on Friday June 8th. Got there around 9:30am, I was told it would take between 45 min to an hour. At around 11am I saw my vehicle parked outside, so I asked if my car was ready, the guy checked his computer and said, yes it is! So I drive home, and that afternoon when my husband gets home, he tells me he had a message on his cellphone from the dealership saying that the car was ready, they left this message at 10am!! So this means that they forgot I was sitting in their waiting area, I waited for an hour and a half when I could have waited just half an hour. I wonder how long would I have been there if I hadn't checked with them if the car was ready, when were they going to realize that their client was sitting in their waiting area. I specifically told them "I will be waiting here", I was with my 8 months old son sitting right outside their door! More
I made a service appt on line friday 12-2-11 for monday morning. I arrived 15 mins early I was quickley greeted, Brenda had my information up and ready and by 8;10 my car was taken back. Fourty five minutes later my car was inspected the oil was changed and they checked all other systems on my Sonata. Not only was it fast there was no charge for my services today. Being the holiday season no charge was music to my ears. This is my second time I have been in for service on my vehicle and Brenda has been amazing. I thank Hall for the service dept. here I can tell you it makes it very hard to want to go anywherelse when you get a product and service like I get at Hall Hyundia. I am probably an exception since I actually look forward to taking my 2011 Sonata in for car service...the experience, price, and courtesies extended to me have been super over the past year. Every attempt and offer for service and convenience is extended to me by this fine dealership run by Mr. Nance. When I buy my next Hyundai (and unless I get struck by lightening, I will) it will be from Hall in Newport News. It is convenient to where I live and the smiles from Brenda Messer, a SVCc Manager, on down are genuine. More
My wife and I were traveling to Hampton from Maryland to visit our children and grandchildren. Just a few miles from their house, my power steering began to make strange noises. My son-in-law phoned Hall Hyundai in Newport News and spoke with a gentleman in the service department at approximately 2:30 pm on Saturday afternoon. The service department was busy and closed at 5:00 pm but he said he would squeeze my Santa Fe in and take a look at it. Upon arriving at the dealership service service department at around 3:00 pm, I dealt with Brenda Messer, the Assistant Service Manager. Brenda is a top notch person; very professional, friendly and caring. My vehicle was taken to a service bay after just a very few minutes. The mechanic determined that the power steering rack had failed. Brenda informed me that the vehicle was not drivable and I would have to leave it. The rack was not in stock but she promptly ordered the rack from a "sister" dealership in the area for delivery Monday morning. Brenda then proceded to make arrangements for me to have a loaner vehicle until mine was repaired on Monday. With my family living in Hampton and the wife and I staying in Williamsburg, the visit that we had looked forward to for weeks would not have been possible without the loaner car. My Santa Fe was completed on Monday afternoon and enabled us to return home as originally planned. Brenda and the service department staff saved the weekend. In my 35+ years of owning automobiles, I have never been treated better. If Hall Hyundai treated a total stranger this well, I can only imagine how well they treat their regular customers. If I lived in the area, Hall would get all of my business. Thanks so much. More
I came by the dealership to have my 2005 Hyundai Elantra serviced for oil and as I was waiting I was curious to see what the newer models had to offer but wasn't planning on buying anything just merely wish serviced for oil and as I was waiting I was curious to see what the newer models had to offer but wasn't planning on buying anything just merely wish listing. The salesperson Jamie Cornette was the first to approach me by letting me have a seat inside the 2010 Elantra to check it out further, he was very polite and friendly and didn't go into a sales pitch he let me have a look then offered to give me a chance to explore the possibility of trading in for a new vehicle that day. I felt respected and appreciated all the time while I was there and he really went to bat to help me decide what works for me. I test drove the car and the next day I was being seen by Alex Pauley who really did an awesome job in being clear and fair to have me comfortably afford this used LIMITED EDITION Hyundai SONATA 2008! Both Jamie and Alex made me feel like I deserved that nice fully loaded vehicle which I know is part of their job to say but I could sense that they believed it on a genuine level. Alex was very respectful and sensitive to my financial needs that I never at any time felt uncomfortable which is a real plus! They gave me a better understanding of what buying a car should be like.
