I brought my 1999 Ford Crown Victoria in two weeks ago to have the intake manifold and spark plugs replace. This car has been in my family since new. I am the 3rd family member to own it. 66,500 original mil have the intake manifold and spark plugs replace. This car has been in my family since new. I am the 3rd family member to own it. 66,500 original miles on it. The water passage on the plastic manifold cracked leaking antifreeze. The new redesigned intake manifold is also plastic but has a metal water passage. I also had the coolant temperature sensor replaced. When the job was completed I was told my temperature gauge wasn’t working. I told them it worked when I brought it in. They said the mechanic went over his work with a fine tooth comb forwards and backwards. He said it would need a new gauge cluster and this part is now no longer available through Ford. They also informed me that the car has a check engine light present with 2 codes. #6 cylinder misfire and bank two O2 sensor. They literally sent me home with these problems after I paid $2100. When I got the car home I pushed down on the #6 cylinder fuel injector connector. It was not seated properly. I cleared the check engine light, both codes not present and the car ran great. I tested the temperature gauge by using a jumper wire on the connector for the coolant sensor. This applies voltage to the gauge. The gauge needle when from the cold peg to the high peg. The gauge is good. I tested the coolant sensor and the sensor is good. There is a short in the wire that goes from the sensor to the gauge. Today I 3/14/2022 I went to Southwest Ford to get a refund for $50. They charged me twice for the same sensor. I talked to Larry the service manager and asked him why the mechanic didn’t do what I did with the fuel injector connector simply get it fully seated. Clear the check engine light, problem solved. He didn’t say anything. I told him the car does not need a new gauge cluster like I was told. This was a bad experience and I will not be going back. I plan on buying a new Ford Ranger next year and I will not buy it from them. It sad that this Dealership doesn’t care about their customers anymore. More
I worked with Morgan in used cars. I found him to be disingenuous and lacking integrity. I will not do business with this dealership or any of the others owed by this organization. disingenuous and lacking integrity. I was very disappointed in my new F150 purchase. Trade was undervalued and I tried to get them to throw in floor mats just to make me feel better. That's no big deal, but after I drove two hours to do the was undervalued and I tried to get them to throw in floor mats just to make me feel better. That's no big deal, but after I drove two hours to do the deal I found the truck had 350 miles (website listed mileage at 5). I asked them to adjust the price for the mileage and they offered me $30. I took it as a slap in the face. I did not appreciate the constant reminders that ford surveys require 5 star ratings or it affects salesperson commission. 3 people went over it with me. When asked if there was any reason why I wouldn't give them five stars I told them I was disappointed in being offered $30 for the mileage. Their response was to tell me that's not unusual and that they would throw me some free detail jobs (knowing that I live 2 hours away). My point is that if there are two identical trucks priced the same and one has 300 miles on it and the other has 5, everyone would pick the one with 5. And the discount that it would require anyone to pick the 350 Mike truck is more than $30. Giving me a set of $150 floor mats was a pretty small ask that they refused. Other than that experience, the folks were okay to work with. Just don't expect to get good prices when inventories are low and demand is high. More
I drove an hour out of my way to see the perfect vehicle I had been searching for. Prior to the visit my husband was told if we were not trading in a vehicle $5,000 would be added to the msrp so I went ahea I had been searching for. Prior to the visit my husband was told if we were not trading in a vehicle $5,000 would be added to the msrp so I went ahead and let them do the appraisal to see if they came close to what Carmax offered the day before. Not even close. Carmax offered $33,000 and another Ford dealership in Denton TX offered $29,000. Southwest Ford came back with an offer of $17,000 the next day!!!!! After calling them out on the lowball offer they came back with $20,000. Saying no again he came back with an offer of $26,000 saying they checked the boxes wrong. I call BS. I was a female alone in the dealership and was being taken advantage of. I was disrespected with the first offer and not given my keys to leave. I had to ask for my keys a dozen times. Each time they left to get them they got closer to my face and asked what they could do to make me happy. The purchase price they quoted me was $78,000. I bought the exact same vehicle from Bill Utter Ford in Denton the very next day for $59,000. Absolutely disgusting experience and I will never return. More
