i went to this dealership for the third part of an oil consumption test. i was told if it failed that they would need to keep my car on the lot until they received an okay from kia to replace the engine. consumption test. i was told if it failed that they would need to keep my car on the lot until they received an okay from kia to replace the engine. and that if the engine needed replaced it would take at least 3 weeks. i was told that they had no loaner cars available, they knew for at least 3 months that there was a possibility of me needing a loaner car. they said i could call enterprise to get a loaner and have kia reimbursement the cost. they had no clue how much the reimbursement rate is. obviously there is an engine issue on kia which they know about it. if they do not have loaner cars available for someone who might be without a car for 3 weeks they should have an account set up at car rental agency and they should be the ones who have to wait possibly 3-4 months to get reimbursed. they would not contact Kia on my behalf. they claimed that the engine soak test worked and my engine was no longer burning oil. but for all i know they put more oil in and claimed the issue was fixed. i will need to purchase a new car soon and it will NOT be from this dealer. on another note, they keep saying i need the anti-theft software installed but they can't do it on my car because it has an after market remote starter. anything done to the car after it rolls off the assembly line is "after market". if it was a kia dealership installed remote starter then would the anti theft software work then? it shouldn't make a difference what type of remote starter is in the car. i will not recommend this dealer or service department to anyone. Everything went very smooth with my appointment and Joe the service consultant was very nice. I utilized the drop box for my visit and my car was finished when expected. Dealer pricing is well known to be higher for repair/replace than other Auto repair locations. I continue to visit South Hills Kia because of the Service staff.
