I am not satisfied with the used Kia telluride I purchased at South Hills Kia. It was a certified vehicle. We travelled about an hour from our home to purchase this vehicle as it was the only one purchased at South Hills Kia. It was a certified vehicle. We travelled about an hour from our home to purchase this vehicle as it was the only one around our geographical region that had the features we wanted in the vehicle. We discovered on the hour trip home from the dealership that the auto shut off did not work on the vehicle and the navigation system could not find addresses when you typed in the address. The only way you can find an address is to find the location on the map and then "tap" it. Then you can ask it to navigate to your destination. The sales manager didn't have any answers for us and told us to bring it to have their service Department look at the vehicle. I drove the hour long trip to South Hills Kia to have them look at the car. I told them that, when I put the car is in accessory mode to set radio presets or cruise control settings, the car was displaying a message saying that the battery was not able to support those functions and the car needs to be running in order to perform those operations. I made sure I told the technician about the battery message because there is information on the internet saying that a weak battery could affect the functionality of the auto shut off feature. After about two hours in the service waiting room, the service technician came in and told me the battery needed charged. I asked if they would just change the battery as this seemed likely to be the issue with the auto shut off. They said that the cost of a new battery would not be covered because the "code" did not say the battery was bad but only needed charged. I explained that we drove the car enough to keep the battery charged to a full level. If the battery needed charged, it must be an issue with either the battery or alternator. The Technician said they needed to try to charge it first before they could consider installing a new battery. I then explained that this vehicle was supposed to be a "certified" used vehicle and we also purchased the extended warranty the finance manager so skillfully told us we needed. I said that the auto shut off should have been verified as part of the certified vehicle process. The service technician offered to go talk to the used car sales unit to see if they were willing to pay to have a new battery installed. The Technician came back and said the used car sales folks were not going to pay to have a new battery installed. I waited another hour while they charged the battery. Then the Service technician came in and told me that charging the battery did not fix the auto shut off issue and that they would need the car for an entire day to thoroughly troubleshoot the issue. As for the lack of functionality of the navigation system, the technician said they did some troubleshooting and found that if you go through a few extra steps in the navigation address menu, the system will find an address that you manually enter if you are in the "offline" mode. I was confused by that. Why is there even an "online" mode if it doesn't work. I drove the 1 hour trip home trying to decide if I wanted to keep pursuing the issue. The next day, I was driving the car and the auto shut off feature was working as intended. I have no idea why. After that trip, the car sat in our garage a few days until the next time we drove it. When we did drive it again, the auto shut off feature was not working again. Frustrated, I did nothing with it in terms of scheduling the car to be dropped off for a full day to have them troubleshoot the issue again. The car also started displaying the "weak battery" message again when I tried to do anything in the accessory mode when the car was not running. I decided I did not want to do another round trip to South Hills Kia and decided it would be more convenient to replace the battery on my own as I was fairly confident that the battery was the issue. I purchased and installed the battery. The auto shut off now works correctly. It did not correct the terrible functionality of the navigation system. Needless to say, I was not happy to be sold a "certified" vehicle only to be put through this experience. More
