Our Ionic Hybrid was in their shop for 89 days. We received a myriad of excuses including: part on back order, part shipped to wrong dealer, we are moving, tech has covid etc. Tired of the run arou We received a myriad of excuses including: part on back order, part shipped to wrong dealer, we are moving, tech has covid etc. Tired of the run around at the dealership, we engaged Hyundai corporate leadership and got our car back in 24 hours. Kudos to Hyundai corporate for recognizing and righting a wrong - they get 5 stars, but South Bay Hyundai one star. Word of advice to South Bay be proactive in solving customers' problems. Don't wait for the customer to follow up. I was flabbergasted when I got got my service advisor on the phone and asked him the status of my vehicle that had been there for over 60 days and his response was..."good question". Very bad answer! The service department needs a new name, because they certainly aren't in the business of providing service. I first tried to contact them about my recall in mid-November; nobody answered the phone and certainly aren't in the business of providing service. A couple weeks later I tried calling again, nobody answered again, and this time I couldn't leave a message because the voicemail inbox was full - so I sent an email, which was once again ignored. On Monday, December 18 I made an online appointment to have the work done on Friday, December 22; when I brought my car in they told me they didn't have the needed part and it would take 2-3 business days to get it. They said they'd call me when it came in but they didn't. After two weeks of waiting I called and miraculously someone answered. I explained the situation and was transferred to the parts department, and after being put on hold for quite some time I learned they'd had part for over a week. I made another online appointment and finally, about two months after beginning this ridiculous effort, I was able to get the recall work done. I sincerely hope there aren't any more recalls because I never want to deal with them again. More
