Just another service center pleasing their bosses Yet another repeated problem with my Hyundai, with yet another excuse from the service department with, "sorry, we couldn't duplicate the problem", (i Yet another repeated problem with my Hyundai, with yet another excuse from the service department with, "sorry, we couldn't duplicate the problem", (intermittent weak brakes/brake pedal grabs lower than normal). After getting the car back, I noticed that the odometer had only 1 mile added to it. In my opinion, they probably drove it around the block and determined that in that short test drive, the brakes were deemed ok. In past services, the brake fluid reservoir had to be topped off. Shouldn't that itself be a red flag? Also, trying to get a hold of the service department (telephone) is nearly impossible. I finally left a heated voicemail to the service manager...that went unanswered. Want to hear something more shocking? Ask me about the discovery I made after purchasing this "supposedly" certified pre-owned Hyundai Elantra from Huntington Beach Hyundai. Briefly: the Carfax report stated "no accidents". Yet, after driving the car home, the steering wheel would "stick/lock" while driving on the highway. After 7 return visits to the service department, (along with the typical, "we can't find anything wrong with the vehicle"), and repeated attempts to blame it on the car "needing an alignment", I demanded they buy back the car. Boy, how quickly they replaced the entire steering column. But, what shocked me the most was when I tracked down the original place of purchase, along with the service record. Guess what? The car had been in the body shop THREE times, one for major front end damage, (most likely a collision), and the other two times for left rear quarter panel damage...yet the Carfax shows no history of accidents. Who modify and/or falsified the Carfax report? Now I'm once again dealing with another issue with the car, (faulty brakes). I wish I never bought this car. More

WHAT IS," TOLD," MAY NOT BE WHAT ACTUALLY BE WHAT, " IS." Purchased a new 2014, Equus from SoBayHyundai and have only taken car to this dealership for repairs. SBH service dept employed a dedicated Equus a Purchased a new 2014, Equus from SoBayHyundai and have only taken car to this dealership for repairs. SBH service dept employed a dedicated Equus advocate, who retired more than 2 yrs ago - everything since has been contingent. Most times I take my car for repairs, it takes 3 days, up to weeks for my servicing and return. Of late, the air suspension on the rear failed. Having the extended warranty which expires at mile 112,000 (current car mileage is 96,000), I believed my car would be repaired immediately - two inspectors from warranty company, visited dealership, refused air suspension approval. Eventually the car, "fell," and rested on top of two, HANKOOK, one directional low profile tires. I turned the car into SBH, went out of town, stayed a week, ,only to return to dealership who had done not one thing to my car. After another week, the car was returned to me. Car drives rough. The tires on my car necessitate balancing and alignment every 3 mos. I take my car to tire shop. Tire shop discovered: struts are gone; brake pads (front and rear), are severely low, pads and rotors worn out, and the rear tires are budging, due to weight of car sitting atop the tires!! My car was serviced in August, 2018, and just completed the major 90,000 mile servicing which troubleshoots every area of the car. After a letter writing campaign, and being in contact with Hyundai's consumer complaint division, SBH has yet to contact me (today is March 3, 2019). SBH is the only service department that has touched my car since purchasing in 2014 - I have trusted their honesty and capability to perform efficient car repairs for my driving confidence and safety. Who has time to argue, debate, or report any company for dishonest practices? This is where I am now. Such disappointment and sadness I am experiencing with the service department staff who misled me to think all was well with my car.
