Unfortunately diagnosing problems are not always as easy to determine until a mechanic is actually working on the repair. I am not sure what the problem was with your vehicle, I do know that we have Ford Certified Mechanics that are able to work on diesel engines. The service writers will do their best to give you an approximate idea of what on the vehicle will need to be repaired and an approximate cost. Once the mechanic gets involved in the repair they are better able to diagnois the problem. We will keep the customer informed of additional problems that are found as the process goes on and work to repair the cause of the problem.
