Sat down with Anthony D. Go over the option, bells and whistle, how long it will take the car to be deliver. He followed up via email and provided me information when will I get the car. Having the Vin #, made me comfortable and aware that the car is being build. Very recommendable person, even-though I keep on texting and emailed him on the status of the car from production line to railtruck thru trailer up to delivery to there dealers parking lot. I decided only to visit dealerships who were accredited by the Better Business Bureau and had an A (or higher) rating. I was looking for a small SUV/crossover of a few different makes. The Honda CRV, Hyundai Tuscan, Mazda CX5, and RAV4 were among the list of cars to check out. I was treated mostly like a business deal with each car salesman. In typical fashion, they pushed me to make a decision that day even though I came in explaining I needed time to do research and would not make any impulsive,under-educated decisions. And big surprise when I had to get home from dinner and it was time for me to leave, out came the finance manager for more high pressure sales tactics. No one seemed to have my best interest in mind, instead I was a dollar sign and half the time they weren't even listening to what I actually said. Then my experience changed when I met with Paul at Smithtown Toyota. Paul lsitened to all my needs and noted the terms of which I wanted to finance the car I was looking to buy. I could talk about the car and the test drive but obviously a new 2105 RAV4 runs great and I felt like a princess with all the upgrades compared to my 2008 trade in. The car is not why I bought from this dealership. After the test drive, Paul ran the numbers. They came out a bit higher than what I hoped to finance, but hey, I wanted a brand new car with some upgrades. In comparison to the other dealerships (and the equivalent small SUV/crossover of their make) they were extremely competitive. A this point I needed some time to go home and think about the finances. Paul didn't badger me and waste another 30 minutes of my time, he didn't bring out the sales manager to pressure me into buying that day, and he didn't treat me nastily because I was leaving. I know this sounds ridiculous but unfortunately that was the tone as I left several other dealerships that week. Thank you Paul for treating me like a human! Paul shook my hand and let me leave with all the material I needed to make my decision...and this I why I came back. A month later I returned to Smithtown Toyota and this time I was ready to buy. I couldn't think of anyone I would have rather give my business to than Paul, someone who was looking out for my best interest (and had 18 years working for this company). When I came back Paul still recognized all the number he had originally given me. I picked out the final details and had to run home to get the title for my trade-in while they prepared the car. Knowing that paperwork time is when most customer (especially young females like myself) get taken advantage of in the car buying process I brought my dad back with me. You should know my father is notorious for flipping out at dealerships as this point because all the sudden the numbers change and we've have to walk out without a car in the past. My father and I sat down with Mitch, a manager, to fill out all the paperwork. I was shocked, all of the number were exactly as Paul had promised. Same trade in value (which was higher than most other quotes), same $/month, same length of term, same finance rate (which end up even lower than what I anticipated). The paperwork all went smoothly and I was able to drive home in my new car that night. Mitch and Paul stayed late on Saturday to make sure I had that opportunity. Thank you so much to the crew at Smithtown Toyota. This is the most pleasant car buying experience I have ever had and even my Dad was impressed. I love my 2015 RAV4 and I will absolutely be recommending you! More

The process of buying my new Prius with them was quick easy painless and done with integrity. I had originally shopped three dealers and got a price that I was comfortable with. I went to Smithtown told them that was my number which was a steal according to my research (lets remember they have to make a few dollars) and let them know. There was no back and forth and I was told upfront all of the costs before I signed. Oh BTW they did not throw on any hidden fees or the other BS that I was getting at the other dealership in the area. Rich was pure class and I would buy another car from him in a heartbeat. In fact I am looking at buying a used car from him for my wife. Thanks guys it was a pleasure dealing with a dealer with some integrity!!!!! More

What's with the bagels??? I put in a review around 6 months ago about my finding a piece of bagel under the hood of our brand new Avalon. In that review, I expressed my disappointment over the fact that a piece of bagel was found stuck under the engine which according to the technician was causing the rattling sound. That was 6 months ago and the dealer sent us some free car wash vouchers to "make up" for that oversight. Last month (around Labor day), I brought in the car for the 10K mile maintenance service. I was surprised to find another piece of bagel under the hood when I cleaned the car over the weekend. I'm pretty sure that it was left there when I brought it in for the service because I found it in a conspicuous area. I would have noticed that when I first if it was from the time we first got that car. Which begs the question ... "what's with this dealer and bagels"? It sounds ridiculous but it really shows how little they put into quality control. #ihatebagelsunderthehood More
