I researched the place before going and found a nice, used 2016 Sorrento that I wanted. When we got there, we were greeted by the salesman and I told him what model I was looking to buy. We went out to the lot and test drove the car I had actually saw advertised on their site, he just happened to pick that one out, and we went back inside to talk about it. Things were going well, but it seemed like our salesmen was a little all over the place. He didn't seem to be totally invested in us. He did make some small talk and asked some questions but you could tell he wasn't completely focused on our sale. I realize the dealership was very busy that day, but it's important to make the customers feel like you're invested. Other than that, everything else went pretty smoothly. The man who did the finances with us was very knowledgeable, gave us his full attention, even specifically saying that since we were in his office, we were what mattered. We were in and out of finances quickly and I was able to take the car off the lot that day. We got a really good price for the car, have affordable payment on it, and we even did a trade in on my old car. Overall, I was very pleased and am happy I bought from them. More

The negative experience occurred at a follow up visit shortly thereafter. The vehicle at the time of purchase had only 1 key available, and the salesman agreed to provide another one for me to pick up at a subsequent visit. He provided me with a copy of a work order to present to the Service Dept. When I called Service (whom were very friendly), to schedule an appointment, they couldn't locate the work order from the salesperson but said it was not a problem and for me to come in with my copy. When I arrived and parked my newly purchased vehicle at the service area I was surprisingly met by the salesperson who sold me the car. Rather than asking me how I was doing, or how I was enjoying the newly purchased vehicle, his only concern was if I had a USB cord (probably worth a few dollars) he left behind in my car when demonstrating to me how Apple CarPlay worked. At first I was amused by the question and laughing but quickly realized he was being serious and wanted it back. After returning it to him, he went back inside. Again, he did not care or ask if I liked the new vehicle I just purchased 2 weeks ago from him! It gets even more bizarre from here. While I was waiting in the lounge area as Service was processing my work order, the salesman approached me again, this time to say he only promised a replacement key and not for an identical set (which is the Key & FOB). HUH?? He first takes back the USB cord and now he was trying to back-away from a commitment (which was a condition at the time of sale) I had a work order for! Obviously, I was upset with his behavior and fortunately an individual from the service dept. was there to explain to him he was being non-sensical. The salesman then walked away without saying anything else to me. I'm not sure if his behavior was from a lack of experience but in any case it was very off-putting. This is how you ruin a perfectly good experience to one that leaves a customer feeling unsure of buying another vehicle from this dealership or recommending a friend to do the same. More

I am a model three reservation holder waiting for the leasing option to begin during the first quarter of next year and if the EV Niro becomes a remote possibility in place of the model three, my wife and I will be back to lease the car from this dealership. To make a long story short we walked out of that dealership and headed to Smithtown Kia. Smithtown Kia was like a breath of fresh air. Professional, accommodating, knowledgeable and cared. In about an hour and a half we had a car picked out and applications filled out and 3 days later I drove away with my new Kia Sorrento. Dealing with Gerard Rennie and Gerard Ragan was such a pleasurable experience, I would highly refer them to everyone. More
