When I walked into the dealership I really didn't expect to walk out with a new car. My credit rating wasn't the best, but Jeff and the finance team were awesome. I received financing and now I'm back on tr to walk out with a new car. My credit rating wasn't the best, but Jeff and the finance team were awesome. My experience with Jeremy and Marty was excellent. They were very professional and went out of their way to help me. They knew everything about their cars and answered all my questions. Spent about a month researching various cars, prices, trade-in values etc. online eventually decided on a few to look at and ended up at Smails in part because a co-worker loves the experience she's had trade-in values etc. online eventually decided on a few to look at and ended up at Smails in part because a co-worker loves the experience she's had at another of their dealerships and because I was able to cross shop a few brands at basically one dealership given the number of franchises they have. Marty Cummins was fast to respond to my email inquiry and answer my questions and was waiting for me and my 76 mother (who went along for the car search since she likes to shop) at the door on 4/28 and had the car I came to look out ready and waiting for the test drive. I was impressed by the no pressure, relaxed approach Marty had that seemed to be shared by the other salespeople I observed while there. Drove a Kia Optima SX and a Ford Fusion Hybrid and Marty was great help with the Ford even though he technically works at the Kia dealership. Marty never put on the pressure to try an upsale options on the cars and never tried to sale more car than I wanted at some dealers they would have pushed the more expensive Ford Hybrid. In the end I decided on the Optima SX and the deal was quickly worked out and met the numbers I had in mind, of course like everyone I would have like a better deal but I knew what I wanted for my trade and was willing to pay and the final deal was within what I wanted and was done without the high pressure tactics of some dealerships I've dealt with in the past. All in all I think it was win-win for me and the dealership especially since the SX is hard to find in this area at the moment. There was a bit of wait to close the deal with Rick simply because in the time I was there they sold at least 4 other vehicles and it takes a while to process all the paper. Marty was great during the time going over the car and making sure my mom and I had anything we needed and answered any questions. Went with Kia financing because the rate was better than my credit union. Once in with Rick there was no high pressure attempt to sale the usual add-ons he laid out the options and lets you decide for yourself if you'd like any. The only glitch was they couldn't find the second key despite a massive search by Marty but had an email waiting first thing this morning saying they found it and he was mailing it out (I live about 50 miles from the dealership or I would've just picked it up). waiting to see if the service department is as good an experience as the sales one but from my friend's experience I expect it will be. After the paperwork was wrapped up Marty took all the time necessary to explain the features of the car and answer any questions I had about them I highly recomend Marty who made the whole process easy and pressure free and the Smail dealerships it was one of the best and easiest experience I've had buying a car. More
I feel the salesman did an excellent job, he listened to what I wanted, he went out of his way to assist me and my wife with what we wanted. Mike was friendly and courteous. I had explained my situation ahead of time, so he knew what I was looking for. I never felt pushed into something I didn't want, but he did show me a variety of option situation ahead of time, so he knew what I was looking for. I loved this dealership - I appreciated greatly how responsive Bob was to my needs, he listened to every detail.
