I came in to get the steering rack on my car replaced and it took four days just for the warranty company to approve the part (it clearly states in the contract that steering racks are covered). I was without a car for four days and stressing because I was told the first time that the part cost $1500 but then the next time I was contacted to be told that the part still hadn’t been approved and that the cost would be over $2000 if I had to pay out of pocket. I was contacted Thursday after 5 o’clock while at work and wasn’t left a voicemail and the service department closes at 6 so I had to wait until the next day to call back. When I got the call on Saturday that the part was finally approved I was told that my car would be done by Saturday at the latest. I received a call on Friday and was told that the part wouldn’t be in until Monday, which I understand because covid has delayed shipping. I was told Monday evening that I’d get a call at 11 to tell me when my car would be done because I was supposed to leave on vacation on Monday but I delayed going because I wasn’t comfortable taking the loaner car. I had to call at 11:30 just to be told that the person I’ve been dealing with this entire process (13 days) wasn’t even in that day. My main grievance isn’t that the part was delayed getting there or even the service itself because the car drives great now, but that there was no transparency between the service department and myself. I know it doesn’t take four days for one part to get approved even through a warranty company. I’m just disappointed in the way that it took so long and I felt like getting my car back was not a priority. More
