Unscrupulous Dealer! After finding the Maverick online that I wanted and talking to the salesperson I drove 2 1/2 hours to Shottenkirk in Granbury to buy the vehicle. Th After finding the Maverick online that I wanted and talking to the salesperson I drove 2 1/2 hours to Shottenkirk in Granbury to buy the vehicle. The sales person then proceeded to tell me I had to pay a $10,000 "Market Adjustment" fee in addition to the sticker price because the hybrid engine was in great demand! For a $36,000 Maverick! Had I not just driven 130 miles to buy the automobile I would have left on the spot. After a tremendous amount of turmoil I finally settled for MSRP plus about $4000 that I paid for with a check. They also refused to remove an insurance product called Premium Plus that cost $2995 for 12 months of coverage for trivial items that I didn't want or need. I'm now in the process of cancelling that coverage with Ethos Group Insurance for hopefully a full refund. Shame on Ford for allowing dealers to insist buyers must purchase this warranty add-on! It certainly makes me feel like giving up my 30 year allegiance to Ford Motor Company. More
