Not so good Sonata purchase in December 2016 Up front, my salesman, Vincent Catlett was PHENOMENAL! If the rest of the staff and the service department had the same concern for the customer, atte Up front, my salesman, Vincent Catlett was PHENOMENAL! If the rest of the staff and the service department had the same concern for the customer, attention to detail, knowledge of the business, would go the extra mile to accommodate the client, I would give this dealership "5 stars." The managers, finance and inventory persons were awful. To keep this brief, first, the inventory was incorrect in the system which almost caused my husband and I to purchase an incorrect vehicle with extensive miles. This would have disqualified us from obtaining a CPO vehicle and being able to purchase an extended warranty. It was so bad, we had to physically walk outside and show the odometer to management to prove the vehicle we were trying to purchase had nearly 20,000 fewer miles than what was displayed in the dealership's computer. Second, my husband's name was misprinted on the purchase documents 4 different times. So, the huge package of documents had to be reprinted over and over and over again. Third, we spent over 2 hours informing the managers and finance people that we were going to get financing from our credit union. They kept sending person after person (each person elevated in rank within the dealership, but provided no value added) with spreadsheets and number crunching to convince us to use their financing. After 5 hours, we were worn down and wanted to get the vehicle and go home, so we finally conceded. Fourth, we then went to the financing office and the agent was in the process of training a new agent (didn't I just mention we had already been in the dealership for nearly 5 hours?) So, my husband and I had to sit while the new person was walked through step by step, page by page of the inordinate stack of financing documents. Finally, as we were wrapping up the purchase, we were informed that we could not get the CPO inspection that evening or the car detailed because the service department had closed. Really? At this point we spent nearly 6 hours of chaos, kerfuffle, and the absolute worse purchasing experience ever, and to top if off we could not even get a car wash! The ONLY reason we stayed and purchased from this dealership is due to Vincent Catlett standing my me and my husband during the entire 6 hours and doing his best to relieve some of the stress from our experience. He was extremely apologetic, explained things as they developed, offered us water and candy while we were there. More
Completely Dissapointed I was told by the salesperson that my vehicle came with remote start and found out after I purchased the vehicle that it did not. That line from another reviewer about sums up my experience. Everyone knows the stigma of the "sleazy car dealer" but I still went in with high expectations. My fault. This was my first time buying from a dealer and not only my worst car buying experience but one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The lack of organization in the place is appalling. There is little to no consideration for the customer's time. I understand that certain things take time but you should be more honest about it, it's really not that difficult to give someone a reasonable time frame (if you don't know, just say you don't know.) Saying that it was an inconvenience buying here is an understatement. On more than one occasion I made the time to come in at THEIR request only to sit for HOURS. I missed work and drove hours under the guise that I would be in and out. A few people were genuinely friendly and kind, but others were "friendly"...that "I really don't care about you but will smile in your face so you spend your money" type of friendly. While sitting there waiting someone might speak to me every couple of hours or so but usually just a "hello" on their way by. Even still, you smiling at me and offering me a water doesn't negate the fact that I've been sitting here for 5 hours without assistance. And heaven forbid I actually have something to say or a question to ask, at that point I'd be shuffled from person to person and ultimately just continuing to wait. Speaking of questions, the sales associates I dealt with acted annoyed when I would ask a lot of questions. I asked very specific questions only to receive inaccurate answers. If a customer asks a specific question, give them a specific answer...being vague is shady and omitting the truth IS lying. I feel like they were dishonest throughout the entire process in terms of what they actually needed from me. Every time I spoke with someone new the answers would change. "Maybe you should speak with the same person then." right? Well, once one person is done with you they push you off onto the next as if you're their problem now. At the end of the day, I needed a car and initiated the process at Sheehy Hyundai. I saw it through hoping it would get better instead of worse but it didn't. I can only hope that all my paperwork was done correctly because at this point, I don't trust this dealership at all. I haven't named any names or been very specific because the process was inefficient all around and I can't say it's any one person's fault in particular. Bottom line, I will never buy another car from Sheehy, nor would I ever recommend them. More
