Breach of contract. NEVER lease or buy from Sheehy Ford, Gaithersburg MD or Ford Credit. They broke the law and I am paying for it. I sold my vehicle to them on 05/09/16. NEVER lease or buy from Sheehy Ford, Gaithersburg MD or Ford Credit. They broke the law and I am paying for it. I sold my vehicle to them on 05/09/16. I wrote them a Cashier's Check for the loan difference I owed. Manager and I signed the paperwork (Bill of Sale and Title Transfer). They agreed to make all remaining loan payments and signed that agreement. I gave them my keys, they gave me my tags. I canceled my car insurance. We both shook hands and I left. I thought it was over. The next day, their Sales Manager Gregg Waddel called and advised the following: "We [Sheehy] made a mistake, we appraised the vehicle wrong and we want an additional $10k" (and change, approximate value). I advised them that this was not my issue; the vehicle is no longer mine. They stated, "we won't do anything with the paperwork" and "we won't cash the check" so you're still responsible for the payments. They stated that THEY typed the VIN down wrong and "it was a mistake on our end" and therefore under appraised the vehicle. They appraised my vehicle in person, and this is their excuse? I do not have the money to take them to court, so I had NO option but to take my check back , re register my vehicle, and get insurance again. I couldn't simply ignore this issue because they were refusing to send in the signed paperwork, which meant the loan company would be coming after me if I didn't make further payment. Please beware of this dealership. They breached the contract, and chalked it up to "a typo". If the tables were turned, they wouldn't accept this excuse. Greg had the audacity to say, "why don't we just split the difference and you pay us another 5 thousand". That's not how contracts work. I have contacted the BBB and MD attorney general. I called corporate, who advised "they are individually operated and we can't assist". Thank you Ford. More
