Horrible service from an equally horrible brand. Took in a 2021 kia sorento for a buzzing sound in the cabin as well as the clear coat starting to peel at 40k miles. Kia Shawnee Mission claimed it needed a cabin air filter, and stated they couldnt cover the paint damage despite us paying for the additional extended warranty and additional resist-all paint coverage. We got the car back with the same annoying sound from the cabin, and no help with the clear coat issues. No help whatsoever from the dealership. Kia has always been a cheap brand that cuts corners. I believed the hype surrounding the brand and the improvements they had supposedly had made. But I've now experienced first hand the issues that I've heard about for years from others. Stay far away from Kia as a brand and Shawnee mission Kia in Shawnee Mission, KS. More

UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW: Bryan Hendrich reached out to me regarding my review. He was very personable and listened to my experience. I purchased the vehicle in 2016. Since then, the management team and me regarding my review. He was very personable and listened to my experience. I purchased the vehicle in 2016. Since then, the management team and sales team have changed, and you can tell the difference. Bryan took his time listening and working with me on a resolution even though my experience was with the prior sales and management team. He took the time to really make sure my prior experience was resolved. Walking into the dealership, you can really tell the difference in the atmosphere from 7 years ago. I have bumped my rating from one star to five stars after meeting Bryan and after visiting the dealership. I left my original review below as you can tell the difference with the current management and sales team from 7 years ago. After this latest experience, I would recommend this dealership and I would go to this dealership with the current management and sales time the next time I am looking to purchase a vehicle. I purchased a 2013 Kia Optima, their "certified" pre-owned vehicle. The only request I had when purchasing the vehicle was that the chrome wheels were scuffed up and I requested to have them cleaned up. They told me it would take a couple of days. I lived in Las Vegas at the time and was visiting family. A week went by, and I contacted them to see when I could get the car back. Plus, I needed to get back to Las Vegas for work. They told me that they had to ship the wheels to St Louis to get them re-dipped in chrome. Which is not what I had asked for and it would take a couple of weeks. I flew back to Las Vegas. 3 weeks went by, and I finally got a call that I could pick up my car the following week (week 4 since buying the car or 32 days). I flew back to Kansas City and picked up the car. When I picked up the car, the wheels looked worse than the day I signed the papers to purchase the car. Remember, I now owned the car, but did not have possession of the vehicle since purchasing it. The wheels had not been dipped but had been painted with chrome paint. I told them they looked worse, and they told me it was the best they could do. By this time, the 30 day tag had run out and they couldn't issue me another one. I decided to stay in KC a few days to see family before driving the car to Las Vegas. The day after I finally was able to get possession of the car. Shawnee Mission Kia called me and told me they wanted to do a final inspection of the car before I took it out on the highway. Which thought was at least nice for them to do. So I took the car to the dealership and they said it would take about an hour. I stayed at the dealership and waited. They pulled my car around front of the building and told me it was ready to go. When I got out to my car they had switched tires on my car. I had purchased the car with very good tread Yokohama tires. When I picked up the car it had really worn Kelly tires on the car. I asked where are the tires that were on the car when I purchased it and they told me they had put the wrong tires on the car and switched them. I demanded that the original tires be put back on the car, but they wouldn't do anything about it. I drove the car for a few years and decided to trade it in recently. The dealership that I traded the car in at pulled the report on the vehicle and showed me on the report my Kia Optima had been totaled prior to Shawnee Mission Kia selling the car to me. It did not have a salvage title nor a non-highway title. Shawnee Misison Kia sold me a totaled vehicle with a clean title. The report they showed me when I purchased the vehicle, was a different report that does not show the damages. It is a cheap report that Shawnee Mission Kia gets away with showing you when purchasing a vehicle from them. Also, since they had my car for over 30 days with the wheels, they knew I could not file a suit against them after 30 days for selling me a totaled car with a clean title. More
