I’m only eating this a two because I have my car back and the young ladies that answer the phone are very nice. Outside of that the service department sucks based on my experience which was horrible. I have a 2022 Kia Forte that recently had the service engine light come on so I took my car in after I was able to diagnose an issue with the camshaft. I took my car in on a Friday about 3 weeks ago from writing this, I was told prior to taking my car in that it would be up to two weeks before I would receive my car (this was far from the truth). I initially gave it a week without worrying about any updates or making a phone call. Once week two (that Monday hit) I called to get an update as to if the diagnosis was the same on Kia’s end and I was told that my car has not been looked at yet. This was an initial worry as KIA does not provide any remediation for having your car so you are on your own in regards to all transportation needs. I was then told that it should be Wednesday of week two as my car was “2nd in the waiting are to be put on the machine or whatever they use to diagnose things. I simply asked for a call back in which I never received from the service department. Dylan I believe is his name was kind enough to give me an explanation and try to relate to my concern as best as possible whether this was true or not who knows. Backtrack to the previous week I was told that the technician working on my car would try to look at my car sooner as I work in person and need to take my kids to and from school. (My car is under warranty btw). Either way this never happened. If I’m all over the place with this it’s because Kia’s service department is as well. Anyway long story short by the time my car was seen I was told it may be longer as they have to get approval to order the parts that may be needed. (Bold face xxx lie) why would I say this, you ask? Because me calling for the very last time I was told that they just looked at my car but they were not able to get the code that I received and no warning lights were showing. I was told I can pick my car up in which I went September 6th to do so. Not a day later the engine light is back on meaning that my car sat for over 2 weeks to the point an issue would not have shown due the car not being moved or powered on. KIA service policy and identity of what customer service is needs a overhaul I feel bad that I will need to call back to let them know the light is back on in the car and end up in the same predicament from 3 weeks ago.
