Shabby treatment I have a 200K mile Jeep that has treated me really well for a long time, but my new job requires me to drive 70 miles each way and so I reluctantly co I have a 200K mile Jeep that has treated me really well for a long time, but my new job requires me to drive 70 miles each way and so I reluctantly concluded I'd better have a newer car. I stopped in to Serra yesterday and Sam Mayers met me in the parking lot. I explained right at the outset that I was definitely not buying that day, in fact Serra was the first place I visited. I explained my situation and expressed skepticism that they'd want my old Jeep as a trade, however I agreed to let them look it over while Sam took me for a test drive. On the drive I reiterated that I was NOT buying that day. When we got back Sam came back to me with a purchase contract for the car we'd just driven (with a monthly payment specified but without any info about interest rate — and BTW I'd never filled out a credit app) and when I repeated that I wasn't about to buy the first car I looked at, Sam became angry. He informed me that I wasn't really going to buy a car anyway, and even refused to shake my hand on my way out. Outrageously shabby treatment! Stay away! More
