After driving the vehicle our sales consultant worked with us to cover our financing options and make a final decision. At every step we were encouraged to take the time we needed, even if we wanted to take the car to lunch to discuss our options. Once we agreed on the financing Robb started the paperwork. There was no 'let me check with my manager' on anything. Robb had authority. It was by far the least stressful car purchase I have ever made. While Robb finished the paperwork, we sat and enjoyed coffee in the waiting area. This was truly an outstanding customer oriented exeperience. More
I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2008 BMW 328xi from this dealership. I live approximately 95 miles away and drove to Littleton to look at a specific car that I had found online. I did my homework and I knew what the car was worth going in. I had been in touch with one of their salespeople by phone and email for a few days before I went. When I got there he was with another customer, but another very helpful and knowledgeable salesperson, Dave Dewey, took over for him without keeping me waiting. Personally, I am O.K. with the no-haggle policy. Automobile dealers sell cars at retail -- duh. Schomp prices their cars at 95% of market value based on local surveys. I got the car that I want, which I absolutely love, and the staff spent a tremendous amount of time answering all of my detailed questions about service plan options, financing, worked through alternatives to explore trade-offs between taking advantage of various factory incentives, etc. Once the paperwork was in process, they set me up with their delivery specialist, an absolutely lovely young woman named Corrie Nave. Being a first-time BMW owner, a number of things were unfamiliar to me. She spent a good hour going over all of the electronics and various features in detail. I happen to be someone who gets along well with technology, but Corrie must have the patience of a saint to go through this with each customer. There is really a lot to learn with one of these cars. The experience that motivated me to write this review was post-sale. My experience with car salesmen in the past is that once you sign on the dotted line, you are passed off to the service department, end-of story. However, when I called the dealership back to ask about iPod/iPhone support in the sound system, they transferred me right back to Dave. He did not know the answer to my question, but through the parts department determined that there is a $100 adapter from BMW that is needed. I fully understand that used cars are sold as-is, and I was not particularly upset that I would have to purchase this accessory to make the iPod feature work. I figured I would track one down locally or on eBay. Instead, after I hung up with the parts department, Dave rang me back on the phone I called from to make sure I had what I needed. When I told him that I would need to buy this adapter, rather than offering to make a couple of bucks on the accessory sale he immediately said he would drop one in the mail to me, gratis. In customer service, it is these little things that make all of the difference. Since I do not live in the Denver area, it is unlikely that I will return to Schomp for service or anything else in the foreseeable future. Still, I wanted to post this because people so seldom report positive experiences or opinions. Reading other reviews I can see how attached many people are to the tradition of haggling over car prices. This is my first no-haggle purchase. It took three hours, start to finish. The car is in absolutely perfect condition and is running flawlessly. I think that as consumers we have to ask the question, "If the dealer has what we want, ready to go, at a fair price with great service, why do we want to sit and argue all day?" My time has a value as well, and I am glad to have skipped the back-and-forth B.S. It is a a game where the dealer holds all of the cards anyway, so why not go to a dealer that doesn't play that particular game? Just do your homework before you go in and decide if the published price is fair. If not, simply take your business elsewhere! More
This is the third deal I have made with Len Birnbaum (leased a new BMW, purchased two used BMW's) and it has been a pleasure working with him each time. The main reason we can back to Ralph Schomp vs. a closer dealer was because of Len Birnbaum. We purchased a 325Xi for our daughter in 2006, and were so very impressed with Len that we looked him up, drove dealer was because of Len Birnbaum. We purchased a 325Xi for our daughter in 2006, and were so very impressed with Len that we looked him up, drove to the new Highlands Ranch location and ordered a 2011 X5 35i Premium that same day. Len is no-nonsense, friendly, and went above and beyond the word "Customer Service". Len didn't try to sell 'extras' that we didn't or would not need however, he did offer each upgrade and has an extensive knowledge of the BMW from bumper to bumper. Congrats for proving that there are honest car salesmen out there that really care. Also, we received a more than fair price for our trade-in (Audi 2007 Q7) by the sales manager. I really liked their one price , no haggle selling technique adopted by Lisa Schomp. Good luck if you feel you can drive around and receive $1k or $2k better at another dealer however, when we picked up our BMW 12/30, Ralph Schomp was running another year-end special and even thought we had signed, put down a deposit and the paperwork was done, Len honored the new deal and we saved another $1,700.00 on our final drive out price. From start to finish, our experience was EXCELLENT ! I have purchased over 15 cars during the past 30 years and well versed on how some dealers advise 'what monthly price do you want?' , 'why don't you lease?' , 'what will it take to get you to buy TODAY?'........ Numerous pressure techniques practiced by other dealers that people (like me), who trades in a car on average every 3 to 4 years are use to by now. With Len, not only have we found a sales representative we will come back to, we will recommend Len to all our friends looking for a BMW !!. I turned in a lease and leased a new vehicle at Schomp. This is my 3rd vehicle from this dealer. Everytime I've dealt with them they have made an excellent deal on my vehicle. No issues with the lease turn in and excellent pricing on the new vehicle. I was able to take advantage of their holiday incentives also. The only negative is that the paperwork takes a long time. I spent several hours at the Dealership to get all the paperwork completed. The vehicle delivery was fantastic, car cleaned and immaculate and they helped me connect all my mobile devices, Ipod and garage door openers to the car! Everything was set (including seat adjustments) before I even left the dealership! The entire staff at Schomp was very nice, courteous and helpful. More
