Couldn't care less about the customer Leased a Custom Van there years ago- no problem.Dealt with 'Chris' the salesman for my 2018 Transit - really nice guy- had no problems. Went to P/U ne Leased a Custom Van there years ago- no problem.Dealt with 'Chris' the salesman for my 2018 Transit - really nice guy- had no problems. Went to P/U new van on a Saturday nite. Dealership was empty.There was one other customer waiting for her new car. I arrived at 4pm she said she was already there for hours and couldn't figure out what they were doing. Heard her complain several times about the long wait and they just kept putting her off. Finally around 6:30 pm they finally delivered her car. While waiting she said she would NEVER come here again based on the way they treated her. I had to wait but not as long as her. Went home and discovered that something had been left under the large rubber mat in the back of the van during manufacture. I figured - no problem - i'll just take off the plastic trim, reach under and remove the item. I' m a contractor, worked on cars/trucks all my life (rebuilt motors,trannys,brake jobs, painted cars, body work ect.) so I'm a pretty hands on guy. I wasn't really sure what type of clip held plastic trim on and didn't want to break it so I called the Sayville Ford service dept. The first guy I spoke to said that I had to bring the Van in. I explained to him that the van is used for my business and I also live on the north shore -45 minutes away- and if I had a significant service problem I would bring it in but this was a very simple fix - just tell me -over the phone- what type of plastic trim clip Ford uses. He again refused. I ,very politely, said 'OK no problem just let me to speak to the manager'. The manager got on and arrogantly, I might say, said 'What's the problem? I explained that I just needed him to tell me what style of clip is used for the plastic trim so I could remove it,how i need the van and how far I was from the dealership. He replied 'WE don't give out service or repair advice over the phone. If you got a problem , bring it in' I said 'Please just tell me the style of clip -that's all' He replied 'I'm not telling you how to work on the van -bring it in' I said 'Forget it' I then used a flat bar (Carpenters tool) to gentle pry up the plastic trim and I broke it. Turns out the trim is held down with Phillips screws covered by a small plastic cap.I ,wrongly assumed, that Ford used the press on type clips. THAT'S ALL HE HAD TO SAY - PULL OFF THE PLASTIC CAP AND REMOVE THE SCREW. So I had to go to RAMP FORD and buy a $150 replacement trim piece. I had a Ford Diesel truck and Ford E250 van from 2004 thru 2018 and always had both serviced there.. They were always polite , courteous and my vehicles were always repaired properly. I would go to RAMP FORD any day or the week and twice on Sunday. If Sayville Ford offered me a free vehicle I'd tell them to 'shove it' and go to RAMP FORD. Unprofessional ,Arrogant SOB's More
