In the past, I've had pretty good results. In this case, not. My brakes have been squealing, a lot, and I made the service appointment to try to resolve the issue. The long and short of it In this case, not. My brakes have been squealing, a lot, and I made the service appointment to try to resolve the issue. The long and short of it was "the brake pads are above the minimum standard that would prompt brake pad replacement, so we aren't replacing the brakes." Which is fine because I wasn't specifically concerned about the quality of the braking. As far as the squealing, which I was concerned with, the response was essentially "nothing we can do about it, period end of story." I expect more from BMW factory authorized service from a dealership than to tell me that I basically need to live with squealing brakes, which I continue to do. Mayber I'm wrong to expect more, but this was significantly disappointing. On the positive side, at least my car was available for pickup within a couple of hours, so I didn't have to wait long to not have the problem addressed. And the video of the brake pad inspection was clear and nicely done. More
