Just typing and remembering this experience is nauseating. When you think of sleazy car salesmen such as Danny Devito's character in the film “Matilda”, you should think of Sansone. They are nauseating. When you think of sleazy car salesmen such as Danny Devito's character in the film “Matilda”, you should think of Sansone. They are the gold standard in fraudulent and criminal car sales tactics and just 5 minutes of research online will tell you what you need to know, many people have sued them and won. Like anybody, I don't like being lied to, I understand that a car salesman works on commissions and is trying to feed their family and I have no problem with him making something off of me. All I am looking for is a fair deal and honesty with no greasy tactics, I said this much to Jorge Pico when I walked into the dealership after getting a quote online through Amex's car buying program for this dealership. I told him I was going to buy the specific car I wanted and that if he was fair and honest with me he would get a sale that day. He was very friendly and we got down to negotiations. He brought his manager Eli Perez This guy oozed shady car dealer. This is where the experience went south. As we negotiated both of these “men” (I use the term loosely because their own mother's probably are embarrassed by them and surely would be more proud if they were locked in a prison cell instead of defrauding hard working customers) used every cheap car sales tactic in the book. They went frequently to check with the GM on the price leaving me waiting, they did the good guy/bad guy routine, tried to talk monthly payments (4 square sheets), they complained that at that price they were losing money. Finally, I agreed to a deposit when we came a fair price and we shook on it, their mouths almost drooling saliva as they collected my cash. Let me be clear, before we agreed on a price I let them know I didn't want any bs fees or anything. We were very clearly negotiating the OTD price of the car minus tax and tags. At this point, they go into the back to put the money away and come back with a contract. Instead of the agreed upon price, I see a figure that is significantly higher. They have added a mandatory VIN etching fee of 299, a government fee of 200$ and a document fee of 349$. They have then hit up that much higher number with the sales tax. I tell them I will not pay a VIN etching fee as it is done for free at the police station in most towns or cities (look it up, it is a typical scam from unscrupulous dealers). They reply saying that they have a 100% etch policy, wow. After I hold my ground and say that these fees are ridiculous, Jorge (who was left alone by his “boss” Perez) rips the papers up from the desk and says no deal as he storms away. This is where I should have walked out. Instead I talked with the other guy for awhile and he lowered the price some more. Their demeanor changed after they saw I wasn't going to be a rube and pad their pockets with an extra almost 1000$ in bogus fees. They became rude and short and I left the dealership with the receipt for my deposit but feeling so dirty for having had to interact with these two human beings. I have had interactions with felons who had more integrity and class than these two Sansone sales"men". The only saving grace is when I called to get my deposit refunded, the internet contact Karan got it taken care of. He tried to give me a much better deal but I told him it was about the tactics and deception more than the price. In the end, I wasted a Saturday afternoon with these gold-pinky ringed mouth-breathers and they held my 2k deposit ransom for over a week before they finally cut me a check. I would highly advise you do your own research and not trust many of these positive reviews you see on some of the sites. The fees added on at the end and called mandatory are actually not, nor are they moral and they are actually illegal. These guys got around that by saying they have a 100% VIN etching policy. This is a lie as I have had contact with people who did not have to pay this fee because they knew about it before they negotiated. As a last note, I ended up going somewhere else where I got the car I wanted (in the color I wanted which Sansone couldn't have done without adding on another 750) for 1300$ cheaper out the door. On a car that is only 20k this is a significant percentage. Jorge and Perez, I hope your dishonest strong-arm tactics let you sleep at night, perhaps next time you can fleece a veteran or a little old lady on a fixed income? Some advice boys, there is this thing called the internet and as information about both cars and people gets around it, salespeople like you will have a hard time unless you seriously change your strategy, I told you this from the beginning but now instead of having a satisfied repeat customer who tells all his friends, you have this review, worth it? It is 2013, you will do a lot better being upfront instead of sleazy. I hope your salaries + commissions made off the sweat of honest people is worth it to you, they won't be around forever. These guys are such a pleasure to deal with. We can tell that they service the educated market sector. Richard Forfar the sales person was honest, knowledgable, reliable and gave me the best selection and that they service the educated market sector. Richard Forfar the sales person was honest, knowledgable, reliable and gave me the best selection and price. He was not pushy and far beyond the forceful demeaning mentality of the other dealerships. Tom Willie was an amazing manager, he treated us like Gold and was so sincere and honest providing all our needs without any long wait like the other dealerships do. Richard and Tom represent the very best of what Toyota has to offer. We trust this dealership and will refer them to our friends and family. God bless you and your wonderful dealership, keep up the good work. More

their website had a promotional coupon that applied to any vehicle over $7,500. i asked to apply this coupon to the price of a 2008 RAV4 which it should have applied to. they said they couldn't go any lo any vehicle over $7,500. i asked to apply this coupon to the price of a 2008 RAV4 which it should have applied to. they said they couldn't go any lower on the price even though the coupon did not exclude the vehicle in any way. i explained that without the promotion the vehicle was out of my budget. the sales rep went to talk to the manager and came back with the same price + an $895 'dealer prep fee'. HAHAHA! wow. no attempt to make the sale. spoke to multiple people who were all nice enough, but it was a waste of time and a lot of double talk. if used car shopping here, keep in mind the sticker price is just the starting price - it goes up from there! Cheryl was extremely pleas describe our car in detail before and after purchase. Henry was helpful and friendly during and after the sales process. Cheryl was extremely pleasant, patient, and knowledgeable showing us the workings and detailed features in our 2101 Toyota Camry XLE. We used the AAA Auto Purchasing Service and Sansone was one of the partners to agree to "No Haggle Pricing". This also enhanced our purchasing experience. David and MaryLou Earl More
Working with Olu was a real pleasure. He was very kind and got us into a better car than we were planning on purchasing for a better price than we were expecting to pay. The management team at Sansone was and got us into a better car than we were planning on purchasing for a better price than we were expecting to pay. The management team at Sansone was also top notch and were not pushy at all. I felt like Olu valued honesty and integrity and was very to the point. We were able to negotiate a very fair price (best price I found in the region) without playing games. Olu is a class act and I recommend him to anyone that is looking to buy a car. More
Me and the wife was heading to Sansone Toyota just take a quick look as it was one of the 3 dealership we were visiting on 1/7. We start the dealership visit on 1/6 and wanted to finish off our visit before quick look as it was one of the 3 dealership we were visiting on 1/7. We start the dealership visit on 1/6 and wanted to finish off our visit before we make our decision on Sunday. We were looking for a used vehicle preferably a Toyota Camry from 2009-2011. Jim came up to us and asked if we need help and what type of car we were looking for. Told him a used Camry. He walked us over to some of the Camrys, we liked the red one that was on the lot. He got the keys and we took it for a test drive, he mention there is also a blue one which I asked him get the key for that too. He had a hard time finding it running back and forth and very apologetic. It turns out to be in the prep station. Told him we are heading into another dealership Toyota Universe to take a look a used Lexus, he said he can contact that dealership and try to bring the vehicle to us. He asked for my cell # and the vehicle info and again asked us to wait in the showroom while he contact the other dealership. While we were waiting, my wife fell in love with the new 2012 Toyota Yaris, which I called a cereal box car ( a toy car), it's half the size of a normal car. However, she will be using it daily and not me, but I wanted the Lexus, she said the 30 city mpg was really nice and its brand new and close to the same price as the Lexus. When Jim came back we started working on the deal for the Yaris, very comfortable, very pleasant to deal with. We originally had a pre-approved check from Capital One. Jim ask if we can let him match or do it better with Toyota Finance plus it comes with benefits. Toyota finance came back not as good on a monthly payment, they discussed with financing and got it to the price we are comfortable with. Met with Al Florence and Al was very pleasant to deal with, he was even able to lower the interest rate so he can include the Gap Insurance for us on the financing. I had a horrible experience before at Route 22 Honda back in 1995, so I have tried to avoid dealership since then, but today, I may have found my dealership for future purchase. More
I initially received a decent price from Denisse on a leftover 2011 Toyota 4Runner. I was referred to Sansone by TrueCar.com (ZAG pricing). When I stopped by the dealership, I learned it was a "demo." Th leftover 2011 Toyota 4Runner. I was referred to Sansone by TrueCar.com (ZAG pricing). When I stopped by the dealership, I learned it was a "demo." The vehicle had over 3 thousand miles and visible signs of wear: chipped paint and scuffs on the interior. Matthew spoke to Gary and agreed to include a warranty, running boards, and cross bars as compensation. It was worth around $1500. Considering the wear on the vehicle and the fact that the 2012 models had better standard features for a small increase in MSRP, I thought this was fair. Several hours later, the games began when we were in the finance office. Al and Gary were going around in circles over the items Gary agreed to include. First it was the warranty, then it was the accessories, then it was back to the warranty. The entire time, the price was not even close to the price we agreed. Each time Al printed the contract, the price of the car was very close to the MSRP (not including taxes). Al repeatedly pointed out the monthly payment. I told him 3 times that I was looking at all of the numbers. I expected what was promised on the TrueCar website: price + taxes + documentation + state fees = total. The contract was never close. At one point, Gary even told Al to remove the ZAG referral fee! In summary - They withheld information several other dealers disclosed. (Car was a "demo") - They clearly agreed to price and changed it when the contract was printed. - They were very pushy in general. I'm really glad my wife and I read the contract. If you choose to visit this dealership, be prepared to waste around 6 hours. And, be ready to leave when the numbers change. More
