This is my second attempt at writing an honest review of my experience at this service department. My first review resulted in a 6 pm screaming match phone call with the service department manager, Derrick. my experience at this service department. My first review resulted in a 6 pm screaming match phone call with the service department manager, Derrick. He offered a new battery, but I declined because I was really worried about a confrontation if I came back. I called at 8 am on Monday morning to get a quote on having the spark plugs and wires replaced on a 2011 SS Camaro with 80k miles because it's due and on my list of things to have done. I also mentioned it was having a slight hard start, so I assumed it would be the plugs or battery. This was my own process of elimination while addressing the plug maintenance. Derrick Phillips advised me not to "just throw a set of plugs in it" and instead let him diagnose it. I immediately felt this was a sales tactic to get a diagnosis fee, but he never once mentioned it. He also advised me to drop the car off and get a complimentary Lyft ride home as the wait would be about 3 hours. However, I also assumed this was a sales tactic to keep my vehicle overnight and perform unnecessary expensive repairs when I simply wanted a quote for the spark plugs and wire replacement. I declined the ride and waited for 5 hours right up until closing just to get an estimate for $11,408.91 of other things he suggested I replace, or have the battery replaced for $570.02 to resolve the minor start issue I was attempting to take care of. I declined everything as I felt my request was ignored. Instead of just quoting me for the plugs, I got a quote for nearly $12,000 in recommended repairs that didn't even include my original maintenance request. On top of this, the price of replacing the battery was so grossly overpriced that I no longer felt like I could trust anything he said. I was pretty mad about the whole experience and just paid the $207 diagnosis fee and left a 1-star review, only to have Derrick, the manager, call me and turn the conversation into a screaming match until I agreed to remove the review and come get a new battery the next day. I avoid auto repair places because of the negative connotation of being taken advantage of. I chose to take my car here based on an experience I had with Jerry Moore, Sands co-owner, years ago, but it turned into the worst auto repair experience I've ever had. More

I recently bought a 2023 Silverado. I was offered a good trade in value for my car so I thought. When I got the paperwork my offer was considerably less than what was originally offered I was offered a good trade in value for my car so I thought. When I got the paperwork my offer was considerably less than what was originally offered. I was passed from one sales person to another through the process. I was going to buy 4 Silverados for the expansion of the company I work for. I will buy them somewhere else now. I couldn’t be more disappointed with my experience. More
Went in on a whim to look and see if they had any used vehicles in my price range. Turns out, they had a used Ford Edge with low mileage on it that they suggested for me. I was surprised I had found a For vehicles in my price range. Turns out, they had a used Ford Edge with low mileage on it that they suggested for me. I was surprised I had found a Ford at a Chevy dealership, but was excited as my former vehicle was a Ford as well and I absolutely loved it. Although it needed new brakes, they assured me that those problems would be fixed before I signed on the dotted line. They even let me piddle it around their parking lot just to get a feel for the vehicle. We talked through financing as well as monthly payments and warranty, and they offered me a warranty and a great monthly payment. However, this is when things started to go wrong. I got a call from Garrett (unfortunately I do not recall his last name) saying that the interest rate and monthly payment had doubled! We even had a paper that said a loan of the same month amount would be less that I was quoted over the phone. I was super upset as I got extremely excited over the car and then basically got screwed over. To make matters even worse, I got a text message from the original salesman I was talking to, Nathan, and he informed me that the car was done being reconditioned. When I told him I was no longer interested due to the treatment of Garrett on top of the raised monthly payment, he said he had no idea that that had even happened! The used car department needs to better their communication skills with not only customers but their coworkers as well. It was an extremely disappointing experience as a new and young car buyer. More
I flew to Arizona, from San Diego, because the salesman and sales manager said I was approved for a Camaro. I wanted a manual transmission and at the time this was the only one. They promised me all I had and sales manager said I was approved for a Camaro. I wanted a manual transmission and at the time this was the only one. They promised me all I had to do was submit my downpayment of $1500.00 and sign papers. I did all that and drove away with the car. 3 weeks later Sands Chevrolet was threatening me to drive the car back because the financing fell through. How is this possible? I was promised everything was good to go. They then stated they couldn't verify employment, which is completely a lie because according to my HR and supervisor they never called. I witnessed my supervisor call the bank myself so I'm not sure what this dealership is trying to pull. They then sent a tow truck to my house to come get the car, because of my disability I explained I was unable to drive 5 hours to Arizona to bring it back. Also, how would I get home? This has already cost me a flight and expenses when I first picked up the vehicle. As soon as the car was picked up I was promised by Stephen Yglesias that he would work on my refund. It has been weeks and I am still without a car and without my 1500.00 dollars. I spoke to Chad Helmer the General Manager and he wanted to offer me a customer "Good Will" of 1,000. Why am I not getting my full 1500? Then he proceeded to say it cost him 1700 to tow the vehicle. How is that my fault or problem? This dealership is one scam after another. I am still currently waiting for my $1500.00 refund. Please go anywhere else if you want a vehicle. I have never had this experience and have purchased many vehicles. More
