Walked in to buy a car 30 days later no car and credit down My wife and I went to this dealership after having a bad time and another dealership to buy a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse LTZ on 8/22/15, we explained to My wife and I went to this dealership after having a bad time and another dealership to buy a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse LTZ on 8/22/15, we explained to the dealership what we had been through and told them we just wanted a good deal and to buy the car. After being there for a couple hours one of the managers came to the table and told us "Sorry for the wait but we just wanted to make sure everything was good to go before signing any paperwork. There is nothing to worry about we were able to get a guaranteed approval using GM and you are approved and good to go". We was very happy about this and thought our car shopping was over. The next day 8/23/15 we brought in my wife's car and dropped off the car to the dealership with the registration as we were asked to do and also gave them prof of income as requested. On 9/1/15 I got a call from the bank where the trade in was financed through asking me to make a payment as that is the due date, I explained to them that we traded in the car and it was no longer ours. The bank then updated the account to mark it as payoff was coming. At this point i called into the dealership just to make sure everything was ok and there wasn't any problems, at this time I was told by the FNI and sales manager that everything was good they just need to get employment verification which the bank did call and complete that the next day, so we thought at this point we were good to go we even received a welcome call the same day from the new bank telling us everything was good to go. Now this is the point that we thought everything was done and didn't think anything else about it. On 9/22/15 we got a repossession notice in the mail from the lender that holds the title on my wife's car, we called them as soon as we seen the letter thinking it was a mistake that it was sent out but the lady at the bank told us that she sees the notes in the system where we told the bank we traded it in but the dealership has not contacted them nor have they gotten the payoff from the dealership and we should reach out to them. We then called the dealership and talked to the sales manager again and he told us "there was a problem with the income and the taxes on the business so we may need to send in tax returns to GM to get the deal done" I said ok that will take me a couple days but I can do that if needed he then went on to say "don't worry about it we are working on it and we will get this handled and get back to you". Again we thought ok well we did get a welcome call and everything from the new bank so this should be ok. I called a couple days later and talked with my sales person and was told everything is ok and his managers have it under control. This made me believe that it was handled and we went back to life as normal. On 9/28/15 my wife got a call from the old bank demanding her to make a payment or they would have to move forward with the repossession, my wife again explained to the bank that we don't have the car it was at the dealership and we haven't had the car for over a month now. The lady at the old bank told my wife she would give her tell the morning of 9/30/15 to get it figured out but by then they needed us to pay the payment, late fees and the cost for the repo order. My wife got off the phone with the bank and called the dealership and then the manager told her at that point that they have done everything they can do that we would need a different co-signer or find other financing somehow. My wife told me about this and I called back to the dealership and talked to the manager again to see how this could even happen a month later and how no one called to update us or even give us a heads up that they were having problems. I also explained to him that if it wasn't for the old bank calling us that we would still not know that the deal had feel apart. He advised me to call GM and talk with them that maybe I could work it out with them. I called into GM and talk to one of the loan people and was told that the deal was turned down and was sent back to the dealership on 9/7/15 when it was resubmitted and the final decline was sent back to the dealership on 9/11/15. I asked for more information regarding the reason for getting a welcome call and being told everything was good to go then it switching to a decline, the rep from GM told me that he had no way to access that information and I would have to contact the dealership. On 9/29/15 while I was out doing appointments for my business I stopped by there in person this time to talk to someone and get to the bottom of this, I was walked to a desk by a sales person who then left me to go talk to his manager, he came back 45 minutes later and told me "Yeah the deal was declined and they were not going to be able to do anything". I walked out front for a minute to make a phone call and see if I could work it out with another bank with the assistant finance came out and told me that he had someone bring up my wife's old car and he needed the keys to the new car, I said I don't have that car I am in my car and that wasn't an option right now but I would finish my work day and come back with the car if I couldn't find another option. After I was done with work I did as I promised and grabbed my wife's new car and headed back down to the dealership where I was stuck in a corner for over an hour when finally a manger came out to talk to me, he sat down in front of me and asked me for the keys to the new car and i handed it to him, he then handed me the keys to the old car and walked away. I waited for a while and then the sales person came by and asked me if I needed something else, I told him yes, I need the registration to the car and I need a manager to come talk me about how we are going to make this right. The manager came back over after another 45 minutes of waiting in the corner and asked me what the problem was. I told him that the dealership is responsible for what is happening and they need to make it right because I was completely blindsided by all of this and they told me that they had a guaranteed approval for me, so now I have to pay all these late fees and also because of the payment being late that our credit score took a big hit so now I am in a worse position than I was when I came in here. I went on to explain that if would have known this we could have made the payment on time and there would have been no problem. Also I told him that we need to have a 3rd row SUV because we have 4 kids and need something that can hold all of us and now we have nothing but a huge bill and a lower credit score. After hearing that he said to me well the payment was already late than if you have fess, I responded to him that no it wasn't we bought the car over a month ago and it was paid on time every month we owned that car. He then just said ok well there is nothing we can do about that. I then told him that I would be going to someone to get help with this matter because this is completely unfair to my wife and me. He said ok and got up to walk away, I stopped him and said I need the registration for the car that it isn't legal to drive without it. He said ok give him a bit and he will try to find it. After another long wait the sales guy came back and said they didn't have it and didn't know where it was but I could go pay for a another one that it wasn't that expensive. I said wait that is not right how are you going to lose it and then tell me to go get another one? The sales person told me sorry there is nothing we can do. I left and drove home with no plates or registration and told to by the dealership. On 9/30/15 I went back to the dealership to talk with them about this matter and to try again to get the registration and bring up my problems with the spot we are now in. I meet with the sales manager again and told him everything again and told him I need that registration to put back in the old car. He said that I didn't give it to them and they didn't have it. I told him to talk to the sales person that sold me the car he is the one that took it and handed it off to whoever needed it. The manager called the sales guy and the sales guy told him I did bring it in but he wasn't sure who would have it because it was over a month ago. The manager looked at me and said sorry but that was over a month ago I wouldn't even know where to look for it so you will have to order a new one to replace it. I said wow that is really messed up that I am being treated like this. I also went into how my wife went to Honda and was working on getting a Pilot from them, but because of how late my payment was (which I did make the payment on 9/30/15 as soon as they opened) and that the car was up for repo on our credit report that they would not be able to get us approved and there is nothing they could do. I also explained to him how now we cannot get a car that we really needed because of the way they handled this and because they never told us the deal came More
