I had been searching online and at Car Max for new or used SUV for a about a month with no real success. My family had bought several vehicles from Safford in the past, so I decided to check them out. U used SUV for a about a month with no real success. Upon entering the showroom, I was introduced to Dario who surprisingly did not try to sell me on something but actually listened and responded to my interests. He quickly found a great price on a sweet looking 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was at a different location but arranged it to be transferred for a prompt test drive. As promised, he called the day before to confirm the test drive and once again greeted me at the door with the vehicle already to go. Everything was as advertised and I was ready to buy. Dario and Jeff made every attempt to work with my trade in and we settled on a fair price. The finance department was excellent and Chad couldn't have been more helpful. Overall, my experience was excellent. I now understand why my family has been repeat customers. Keep up the good work! More
Shopping for a car can be a exhausting experience. Not all dealerships are the same and the knowledge of the salesmen are usually very limited. One of the dealerships I visited gave me a price less the destination charges, that's confusing. Destination fees is a standard non negotiable price that is part of the MSRP. When you low ball your price to get the customer in the door, then add it back to the deal, that equals deceptive practices. Also, if you don't know the answer to a customer's question, don't give a false answer. Ignorance is no excuse for lying to the customer. My experience with Stafford Dodge of Fredericksburg was painless and efficient. Contrary to the car buying experience I am not looking for a new friend or a relationship with my salesman. It takes hours to complete a transaction smoothly. I passed several dodge dealerships in my quest for a new car. I must have talked to 8 dealerships and countless salesman on the telephone. Stafford of Fredericksburg gave me a price on the phone and an acceptable range for my trade, sight unseen. Once at the dealership, I was able to negotiate the deal and finalize the sale. I did not go to the dealership until we had already agreed on a price and it was time to pick up the car. When there, they treated me and my family with respect and didn't start tacking on fees or pulling any other shady tricks - the price we agreed to is what I paid them, to the penny. My salesperson, Dario, was the heart of the transaction and everything I say above about the great customer service is essentially a reflection of my dealings with him. The entire dealership was very helpful after I purchased my 2012 Challenger. It needed some paint scratches fixed and some body work to the front bumper. The car was ready when promised but needed additional work since parts weren't ready. Again, Chris was willing to work with my schedule to get the car in and out before the snow storm arrived. In a world where customer service is lacking it is very appreciated when exceptional service is received, not to mention from a dealership. I have had a few less than satisfactory experiences at a Ford dealership in the Winchester area. As a customer in general, it feels like I have to do their job for them and call and follow and check how things are going. Chris and the team in Fredericksburg are exactly what I look for in service. I will recommend this dealership to anyone and everyone I know that is looking for a vehicle. You folks have a customer for life! Also, a side note about the great experience I had actually buying the vehicle from Bob Dunlop and the sales manager Jeff. Great guys to deal with and willing to work with the numbers. Very fair and made me as a customer feel valued and not just another sale. I am notified if my wait will be longer than 1/2 hour. Gil always makes me aware of any specials that are available and treats my vehicle as if it were his own. I worked with Al Allee on the purchase of my 2014 Jeep Patriot. He made sure I got a fair trade in on the 2010 Jeep Patriot and that I had all the extras I wanted on my 2014. Whenever I go there everyone says hello and asks if I need anything. I recommend this dealership to my friends and family all the time. More
I was told the vehicle i was interested in would be transferred to the Safford dealership in Tyson Corner, Va. I arrived at my appointment time and the manager Mark Cowdin told me the Durango was not a transferred to the Safford dealership in Tyson Corner, Va. I arrived at my appointment time and the manager Mark Cowdin told me the Durango was not at his dearlership. and he was unclear as to where the vehicle was. (bad communication between dealership managers???).. 1. My impression was that the Durango i was interested in was NOT being transferred and never was. 2. Why schedule an appointment for a potential customer to see a vehicle which is not there and waste my time driving to Tysons Corner?????? 3. I was willing to increase my offer had i seen the vehicle in-person as the dealer price seem to be pretty firm however, this used 2012 Durango was over priced by at least $1500. 4. I can't do business with people like this.. i have money to spend.........at another dealership! More

I will NEVER EVER buy another vehicle from them. From now on, SAFFORD IN FREDERICKSBURG WILL GET ALL OF MY BUSINESS!!!! The purchase experience was awesome but what stands out to me more is my recent service visit. I took my Jeep in because my TPMS sensor was lit up when we bought it and assumed it was a matter of balancing all of the air pressure. It turned out not to be the case so I made an appointment to bring it in. The lovely lady who made my appointment was awesome. Then when I got there, the gentlemen that greeted me were even more awesome; made me feel right at home. It turned out to be a fluky thing that caused the technicians to try several things to fix the issue. It took a little longer than expected but that was ok because Jay came out and kept me informed constantly. It was like being at a hospital when a loved one is in surgery and the doctors come out to tell you what's going on, only instead of a loved one, it was my precious Wrangler! I totally expected them to tell me that the previous owners had done something wacky with the tires and that I would have to live with that indicator light on until the end of time...but Jay was outstanding, and was adamant that they would not let me leave until the problem was fixed. I could not be more ecstatic about my experience yesterday. Thanks Safford! You guys are awesome! More
