I had one of the worst service experiences at Safford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram & Fiat of Winchester. I went in for a simple oil change about two months ago, and about a month later, my check engine light Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram & Fiat of Winchester. I went in for a simple oil change about two months ago, and about a month later, my check engine light started turning on and off. When I called, they told me to come in after two weeks, but the light went off in the meantime. Recently, the check engine light came back on, and when I checked, the oil level was very low. I called them again, and initially, they told me to wait a week. After I explained that I couldn’t drive the car without oil, especially since they were the last ones to service it -they finally agreed to have me bring it in. They said there were no leaks, topped off the oil, and sent me on my way. However, on my drive home, I noticed a strong burning smell. When I checked, oil was splattered all over the engine. I immediately took the car back. They kept it for 24 hours, and I had to call them five times just to get an update. Eventually, they told me the timing cover was cracked and tried to quote me $4,000 for repairs! I decided to get a second opinion from another certified mechanic who fixed the real issue for $1,350. The problem was simply a gasket leak caused by overfilling the oil, which this dealership did. The timing cover was perfectly fine. I’ve driven over 500 miles since the repair with no issues at all. So not only did they overfill my oil and cause a major mess, but they also tried to charge me thousands for their own mistake. Absolutely unacceptable and very shady business practices. On top of that, I decided to cancel my service contract because of this experience. I gave them my information and was told someone would call me but no one did. I had to call multiple times and was told each time that the request was “in queue.” As soon as they realized I wasn’t coming back, it felt like they stopped caring altogether. This dealership completely lacks communication, accountability, and professionalism. Please avoid this place if you value your car, your time, or your money. More
Mary Costolo was helpful when I had to take my jeep up to dealership. She went over the process with my warranty on tie rods on my jeep compass.
