WOW!! What a great car buying experience. In my many years of living, I have never had such a good experience at buying a car. I, as most car buyers think at least twice about going to a dealership and years of living, I have never had such a good experience at buying a car. I, as most car buyers think at least twice about going to a dealership and sitting there for hours haggling over the price, trade in and other slipped in price increases. NOT FUN! Well, I had fun purchasing our Mazda CX 7 (Copper Red) from Brown’s Alexandria Mazda three days ago. My wife and have learned that when we purchase a large ticket item we had better know at least as much as the person selling. When buying this car we researched the Consumer Report and found that the Mazda has the best safety of most cars and we got a price range to consider. We then used USAA’s car purchase program and received their negotiated prices, which were good. We did not use USAA because they only had dealerships in Maryland and we did not want to drive 50 miles. We did however have another price range to consider. We then emailed several other dealerships for pricing which gave us additional price ranges to consider. We received a call from Dario, the sales manager, at Alexandria Mazda, located not far from our home. Dario said he had the car we were looking for and I said “give me your BEST and lowest price, I don’t want to haggle over price with a sales person. Dario gave me a price that met the best USAA pricing and below several of the other dealerships. We went to the dealership that afternoon and I still thought that we would be given a sales person who would want to haggle. We went straight to Dario and restated that we did not want to haggle. Dario said, “I want you to meet the sales person I mentioned in my email to you.” WOW – That is when the experience got better. We had the privilege to meet Anthony Arthur – what a wonderful person. Anthony started with the price quoted by Dario and as we were test-driving the new (2011) CX 7, Anthony was having our trade in evaluated. When we returned everything was ready for us. Because we arrived at the dealership late, we were still completing the paperwork at closing and Anthony never even thought to question it was time for him to go home as a matter of fact after the doors were locked Anthony was outside explaining the workings of the total car. The nest day we received an email from Anthony wanting to know if we had any additional questions. We returned and wanted to purchase a mirror with the ability to remotely open the garage door and again there was Anthony walking us through the process. No matter what people say about car salesmen – you need to meet Anthony Arthur before putting all salesmen into the same category. Because of Anthony and Dario, we had the BEST experience ever. Anthony is a good person from the heart. Bill & Shelley H More
I bought a car from Browns Mazda last year and recently needed to get some work done on the car (under warranty) - the service guy (who I will not name) was completely rude to us, extremely unprofessional. needed to get some work done on the car (under warranty) - the service guy (who I will not name) was completely rude to us, extremely unprofessional. Not to mention, when I explained the issue to him he sounded completely clueless as if he's never worked in a service dept. The sales dept will do whatever it takes to make you feel good so you can buy the car but once your sold say bye to "customer service"...and if your car has an issue - good luck with the so-called "service". typical bait and switch. First of all they promise you typical bait and switch. First of all they promise you everything. Then when you come back they ask you pay extra $500. Then they back off of written typical bait and switch. First of all they promise you everything. Then when you come back they ask you pay extra $500. Then they back off of written deal, saying that instead of 3 years free oil changes they will give you couple of free oil changes and one tire rotation. At least one salesperson who we delt with still thinks that wearing his 8 thousands dollars ROLEX will make me feel like paying him those extra 500 buck so, he can buy himself a new watch. WAKE up people!!!! ROLEXes and gold chains are things of the past. More

He took the time to show me everything on th get the price I wanted. He was close. I am happy with everything. The car was ready and parked up front. I want to praise Arthur and all the staff at Brown's Mazda of Alexandria for being patient and understand with me. We went to Roswnthal Mazda in Arlington to buy a Mazda 6 and when we got there we were Mazda of Alexandria for being patient and understand with me. We went to Roswnthal Mazda in Arlington to buy a Mazda 6 and when we got there we were lied to. We left and went back to Brown's Mazda Arthur warned us that this is the tactics other dealers used lies, like "out the door" pricing when this price did not include tax. Arthur was honest and didn't change his story when we got there. We love the car, and it was ready when we got there. We bought our 2009 Mazda6 Touring model, and it is so nice! Thank you! More
Do not trust their used car "126 point inspection" or the word of their salespeople. I investigated this car on-line, spoke to Mike via e-mail and phone, and was told that the Jeep had a working A/C. I fle word of their salespeople. I investigated this car on-line, spoke to Mike via e-mail and phone, and was told that the Jeep had a working A/C. I flew in to buy it and while I was inspecting the Jeep, I turned on the A/C but could not see the compressor because it was dark and at the bottom of the engine compartment. Mike told me don't worry about it because he personally tested the A/C. Stupid me trusted him. Needless to say, the A/C doesn't work. I didn't find out until a day later, and of course the dealer won't help me. Buyer Beware! More
Absolutely horrible. They were the only dealer in the area to have the car I wanted to buy, and when I went there to seal the deal, they tried to sell me a car that was different from what we had discuss area to have the car I wanted to buy, and when I went there to seal the deal, they tried to sell me a car that was different from what we had discussed (this one came without side airbags, a totally different trim). After it was apparent they lied to me, a deal was worked for similar car, but with more bells and whistles that would cost almost $1000 more. The manager wrote on his business card the car, color, trim, and out-the-door price, and SINGED IT. When I returned the following day to complete the deal, they told me that the manager was out and they had already sold the car. Absolutely the WORST dealer in the area. Buy here only if you want to get royally screwed and/or pissed off. More
I have taken my car more than 7 times because it has a problem with its engine light and raving and they keep fixing the wrong stuff and charging me. Mike is RUDE and WOULD not take complaint seriously.. problem with its engine light and raving and they keep fixing the wrong stuff and charging me. bought a Mazda Protege5 from them in 2003 which had noisey brakes 3 months after I picked it up. I took it into them 4 times (I have papers to prove it) and they never fixed the problem right... they e noisey brakes 3 months after I picked it up. I took it into them 4 times (I have papers to prove it) and they never fixed the problem right... they even tried to charge me for the faulty components and after 12,000 miles tried to tell me that it was no longer covered by warranty. Had they fixed it right the first time THAT would not have been an issue. I took my car to Steve's Auto Clinic across the street from the dealership and he fixed my brakes right the first time. It cost me $600 which should never have had Brown's of Alexandria done the work right the first time. between my wife and I, we own Three Mazdas (2 Protege's and a Miata)... I've been a loyal customer of Mazda but I would NEVER buy from Brown's Mazda ever again. They're quick to sell you a car and treat you like dirt when you go back for service. Even the sales staff plays dumb when you go in for after-sales care. Dont' shop Brown's of Alexandria or Fairfax... get your Mazda from someone else. More
