**Long review alert** I recently had the pleasure of experiencing stellar service at Safford Brown Mazda in Alexandria, and I can't say enough good things about my visit. From the moment I arrived, I wa experiencing stellar service at Safford Brown Mazda in Alexandria, and I can't say enough good things about my visit. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by friendly faces and felt supported by everyone I encountered. The sales manager, Travis, kindly showed me how to leave the keys to my car in the drop box for my scheduled repairs the following Tuesday. Jimmy in the service department provided a diagnostic via video, explaining the necessary work on my Mazda 3. Impressively, he arranged for a loaner vehicle almost immediately, a brand new CX-30, making the process seamless and stress-free. As I was leaving, Moe approached me, gave me his card, and offered his assistance in purchasing a vehicle if I was interested. Initially, I had no plans to buy a new car, but after learning about the required repairs, I reached out to Moe to explore my options. We scheduled an appointment for the next day, and I explained my situation, unsure if there was a solution. To my surprise, Moe found a way for me to trade in my car and potentially get a new one. I was pleasantly surprised to discover I was in a better position than I initially thought. Moe and I looked at and test drove multiple cars, with Moe being extremely patient and supportive throughout the process. Rob, the finance manager, was spectacular, ensuring I was taken care of and received comprehensive coverage for my new car. Both Moe and Rob went above and beyond to calm my anxiety and make sure I was comfortable, asking if I needed anything throughout the day. In the end, I left with a premium CX-90 that I initially thought was out of reach. The entire experience was beyond my expectations, and I couldn't be happier with my new car. That same night, I unfortunately ended up with two flat tires after a trip into the city. Distressed, I had my car towed back to the dealership. Once again, the team at Safford Brown Mazda took care of me with kindness, ensuring I left fully satisfied with brand new tires. Overall, my experience at Safford Brown Mazda was exceptional. The staff's dedication to customer satisfaction is evident in every interaction, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of top-notch service and support. Thank you, Safford Brown Mazda, for going above and beyond! 10 out of 10. More
Staff is friendly enough (Jimmy) and follow-up staff (Robert) as well. Robert insists that it is standard practice among all car dealerships to charge extra fees for shop supplies and document retentio (Robert) as well. Robert insists that it is standard practice among all car dealerships to charge extra fees for shop supplies and document retention. In my case these fees were $1.91 and $17.73 respectively. It feels like junk fees, basically part of overhead. Not sure whether all dealerships in fact add such fees. I hope this dealership and others (if others do it) reconsider charging what feels like junk fees. A piece of good news from Robert, that the multipoint inspection will soon have the multi-page detailed readout that many customers find so useful. This detailed readout should be available in a few weeks he said. More

I’m from PA and after receiving my registration, a PA inspection was arranged that showed thousands of dollars of work that needed done to pass a similar inspection. That doesn’t make sense. Even down to leaving after buying and there was no inspection sticker on the windshield and then after getting that put on. I then left again to find the hood was not properly latched. I also found that in the PA inspection the brakes were contaminated since the wheel seals and rear differential had leaked all over them. This they claimed must have occurred after purchase and it was driven home. The list of poor service goes on. Just take caution since safety is not the priority and it seems honesty isn’t either. I purchased a 2020 Maza CX-5 two years ago from Brown's Alexandria Mazda and was very pleased with the interaction and their "no hard sell" approach. I purchased my car at a price that put the purchase in Alexandria Mazda and was very pleased with the interaction and their "no hard sell" approach. I purchased my car at a price that put the purchase in the top 20% percentile for an excellent price within the local area. I just finished my fourth periodic servicing and have been exceptionally pleased with their service center's professional focus, and follow-through. And their pricing is excellent. I don't know how they make a profit. The last two times I had my car serviced, the service advisor was SANDRA BONILLA. You couldn't ask for a more thorough and customer service representative. She has your interests at heart. I highly recommend their service center! JEFFREY A WILLIAMS Alexandria, VA More

An agreement was made that certain items would be repaired on the vehicle if I purchased it. I do not feel that any urgency was placed on having the repairs completed although I had completed my part of the agreement as planned. I visited the site and left messages about the repairs but did not receive return calls as requested. It was not until I pinned an email did, I receive results. I should have followed my gut and continue to shop but I thought this time would be different from the last. I will say that the sale person that I worked with, Alex Stofko, was excellent! More
Bought my 2020 CX30 here. Great service and support. A year later the car had a transmission problem. The dealership worked hard to fix the issue and provided me a loaner car while they made it right. Ver year later the car had a transmission problem. I never write reviews, but our excellent experience at Brown's Alexandria Mazda warrants being shared. Indeed, we went in to test a car, and left, quite unexpectedly, buying one (CX-9). While the vehicle Brown's Alexandria Mazda warrants being shared. Indeed, we went in to test a car, and left, quite unexpectedly, buying one (CX-9). While the vehicle meets all of our family's needs, and was thus an appropriate purchase, it is the competence, knowledge and kindness of the staff that lead us to purchasing a car at Brown's Alexandria Mazda. We cannot stress enough how everyone we spoke with (Travis and Tori to name just a couple) were frankly excellent! The examples of this excellence were numerous, but to name just a few: 1) from the moment we set foot through the door, everyone was smiling, polite, and incredibly considerate (perhaps even more importantly for it denotes a well-managed business) to one another. 2) The dealership was incredibly clean (we were tempted to try to poach their cleaning crew, it was that good!). 3) We had a narrow window to conclude the transaction (kids needing pick ups), and everyone at Brown's made sure that we left on time. In today's world, service is a rare commodity, but it is found in abundance in this dealership. We cannot recommend enough Brown's Alexandria Mazda! More
this is a second review for this dealership for the same car. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the previous situation was not handled correctly. Overall, i am satisfied with the second visit i made. This time i went home with the vehicle i wanted from the beginning. There were no surprises, and i got a deal better than was i was getting locally. This time Brown's Alexandria Mazda went above and beyond to make me happy, and therefore, the previous experience is forgotten and forgiven, and has earn a future customer. Anthony and Tori are the best. Thank you guys for a happier experience this time, and will be visiting you guys in the future and will refer you to any of my friends. More
We just bought a CX-30 for our daughter and the experience was top notch! The sales person, Anthony, was fantastic and took a real interest in the fact that we were buying this for our daughter. H experience was top notch! The sales person, Anthony, was fantastic and took a real interest in the fact that we were buying this for our daughter. He spent time showing her the car and setting it up for her while we did the paperwork. His manager Steve was equally nice. Even the Finance person, Yahyah was fun, friendly and made us feel like family. There were no pressure tactics and everything was totally straight forward. They showed us around the dealership for when we came in for service and each of the people we interacted with told us we could call them anytime if there was any issues with the car. I own a Tesla and the buying experience was night and day compared to the impersonal, hasty, and careless manner in which Tesla has treated me from the day i bought the car. The customer service and buying experience was SO much Better at Brown's Alexandria Mazda. If you're in the market for a Mazda, come here. More
Genuine People Willing to Negotiate! I am 71 years of age and have purchased a dozen+ new cars over my lifetime, the last three here in the Virginia/Maryland area. None of my buying expe I am 71 years of age and have purchased a dozen+ new cars over my lifetime, the last three here in the Virginia/Maryland area. None of my buying experiences with any of the dealerships I have ever worked with have been pleasant, and overall, a less than transparent obstacle course of hidden fees, charges and “hard sell”. As we flew out of Asia this past March 19th, I started signing in to varied internet car buying services to start the process of getting a better deal on a Mazda CX-5 through their buying services, rather than walking into a dealership upon my return, “cold turkey”. We chose the Mazda CX-5 due to its safety features, comfortable and quiet ride, semi-luxurious interior and because it was rated one of the two top compact SUVs. Brown’s Alexandria Mazda was the closest Mazda dealership to us here in Alexandria, but my past car buying experience has led me to believe the best deals are across the river in Maryland from the much larger dealership chains due to the volume of their sales. True to my experience, a larger dealer in Maryland came back with the best offer. So, I started emailing Brown’s Mazda’s product specialist, Mr. Anthony Arthur, who I found to be professional, personable, transparent, and very importantly, not pushy. He advised me that they did not have the exact CX-5 model on their lot that I really wanted, so he offered me the closest they did have to what I wanted, bringing the their offer closer to Maryland’s. Then Brown Mazda’s GM for Sales, Mr. Chad Lewis telephoned me to talk about the deal to get a better understanding as to what I wanted. We spoke for about twenty minutes and I found him very congenial, but professional and focused and in the end, he told me that they were bringing the exact vehicle model I wanted up from another dealership in Virginia Beach without a deal agreed between us yet! The next day the Dealership G.M., Mr Steve Forsht, called to tell me they now had the exact car in stock and asked what it would take to put me in the driver’s seat. I also found Steve very congenial as well, down to earth and a “regular guy”. I came back with some figures that were close to the deal in Maryland, and what I wanted from Brown’s Mazda for trade-in on my vehicle. He came back with “done” and even threw in a couple accessories at no cost! The True Car website that lists sold vehicle pricing in the general area, ranked my final purchase price in the Top Tier Excellent Price category, with less than 17% of vehicles sold in that category; as well as my trade-in value in the highest category! So, if I could have gotten a better deal across the river, it wouldn’t have been by more than 1%, so who cares. I bought my car from good people, the dealership I will be getting it serviced from, only via e-mail and three telephone conversations with no hard sell tactics and in record time! Add to that, their Finance Manager, Mr. Bob Shehata, who is the person you meet after a sale is agreed upon to sign the legal financial paperwork and push extras, simply asked me if I was interested in an extended maintenance plan. I said I wasn’t and that was it. Bob was also just as “regular” and as transparent as Anthony, Chad and Steve before him, and with no “hard sell” tactics. Brown’s Alexandria Mazda’s logo of “Buy Happy” ....is true! They really do want you to Buy Happy. The best advice I can give you if you want to do as well as I did, is research, research, and research so you know which exact model and accessories you want, your vehicle selection’s MSRP price, compare Browns Mazda’s reduced pricing against True Car values as to what others are paying and be as reasonable and as sincere as they are in your interaction with you! Do yourself and favor. Get your best quote in writing, then bring it to Brown’s Alexandria Mazda to see how close they can come. They might not always be able to match the “big boys” across the river, but they will come close, are closer to home, and genuine people. More
