I had one of the most frustrating and misleading car-buying experiences ever at STG Auto Montclair. I ended up driving a total of 6 hours across 3 separate trips because the dealership kept changing car-buying experiences ever at STG Auto Montclair. I ended up driving a total of 6 hours across 3 separate trips because the dealership kept changing the numbers every time I arrived. What makes this worse is that they even texted me confirmed OTD prices, yet when I got there, they added extra fees and charges that had never been discussed. This happened twice, and neither time did they honor the price they sent me in writing. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch. They told me the deal was $35,000 out-the-door, but I later learned they added my $2,000 down payment ON TOP of the price, which is not how an OTD price works and was not communicated to me. Luckily, for me, I got lucky and saw an email that came later after the purchase that I needed to sign a form via DocuSign in order for their bank to fund the deal. This was my way to exit the deal. When I returned for the third visit to unwind the deal (at the direction of their finance department), the sales manager Fernando tried to tell me I couldn’t return the vehicle and needed to “come back another day.” Only after I insisted and he made a phone call, then suddenly approve the return. The entire process took less than two minutes and required signing only four lines — meaning he could have done it immediately instead of wasting more of my time. The worst part? They removed my license plates without telling me during the return, and never gave them back. I discovered this only this morning. Completely unacceptable. No communication, no transparency, and no accountability. This dealership wasted my time, misquoted prices, changed their story multiple times, and mishandled my personal property. I strongly recommend avoiding STG unless you want the same headache. My experience involved: 6 hours of driving total 3 separate trips Two false OTD quotes Texted OTD prices they didn’t honor Last-minute add-on fees Misleading information about the return process Removed my license plates and misplaced my personal property The constant contradictions and lack of transparency made this whole experience extremely disappointing. I recommend anyone thinking about buying here to get EVERYTHING in writing and be prepared for unexpected changes — or better yet, find a more honest dealership. More
Purchased a vehicle on 11/1 that needed a few minor repairs. Negotiated the repairs into the purchase with a promise that they would be repaired prior to delivery of the vehicle. 4 days later when I wa repairs. Negotiated the repairs into the purchase with a promise that they would be repaired prior to delivery of the vehicle. 4 days later when I was finally able to get ahold of the sales person - Jerry. I was reassured that the repairs were made with no issues. So I drove to the dealership 1 1/2 hours just to find out that the repairs were not made and I could make another appointment with the repair shop to have the repairs made. This is the 3rd and LAST car that my family and hopefully anyone I know will buy from them. They were eager to make a sale but not so eager to do any proper inspection and repairs. Buyers please be warned. A once stand up dealership now turned into a Stealership!! More
My husband and I just purchased a car from STG Auto Group in Montclair, and needless to say that we were very pleased with the great customer service we receive from both of their salespeople, Eric and Georg in Montclair, and needless to say that we were very pleased with the great customer service we receive from both of their salespeople, Eric and George, and the rest of their staff are very cordial and friendly. The loan process was top notch we got the Monthly payment that fit our budget which made this experiencing even that much better, and even though the car we purchase from them was a 2008 Lexus 350 ES I must say that it not only drive smooth, but from the exterior to the interior it was very clean, smelled clean, it also looked like a brand new car. It had only two previous owners and based on the car fax they kept it well service. My husband and I will refer to our family and friends or anyone looking to buy a high quality pre-owned car to check STG Auto Group first. More

Told then to "Lose my info! " This dealership had me pay for packages that were never delivered. The manager made promises to me that he never kept. We purchased a truck from STG " This dealership had me pay for packages that were never delivered. The manager made promises to me that he never kept. We purchased a truck from STG before my car but we will never do business with this company again and warn anyone who's looking for a vehicle. I was given the run around for months and decided this company wasn't worth me wasting my time anymore! It's pretty sad for them since I have enormous amount of friends and family who look for referrals and advice since I'm also in the Transportation industry. More
Here’s a short version for your Google review: --- Terrible customer service. They didn’t disclose that the car only came with one incomplete key fob. Promised reimbursement but now review: --- Terrible customer service. They didn’t disclose that the car only came with one incomplete key fob. Promised reimbursement but now ignore all my calls and emails. Warranty was misrepresented—said it covered everything, but it’s only 50% parts and 50% labor. Completely dishonest. More
