I had my Porsche Boxster S for sale on auto trader for 52k. Jackson who works in the office offered me 48k and we agreed on 49,750. Lie number 1. Because we agreed on that price I took my car to sell it 52k. Jackson who works in the office offered me 48k and we agreed on 49,750. Lie number 1. Because we agreed on that price I took my car to sell it to them driving 30 minutes each way to get there. They kept me there 2 hours and came back to offer me 47,500. So right off the bat I was LIED to again. Then they offered me 48k and I left. I hate liars. So two hours later I get a call from the manager Klaus, saying the reason they changed the offer was because the transmission had a leak. Funny there's NEVER been a puddle under my car. Then they said the two back tires were different, big deal, they're expensive speed rated tires, a chip on the windshield (another LIE), and "many costly repairs" All total garbage to get the offer low. Jackson wouldn't even come out to talk to me. I was told that the repairs will cost too much to do so they're just going to sell it AS IS. What a crock of xxxxe. This is classic bait and switch. I brought my car back the next day and sold it to them because I didn't want a hefty repair on the transmission which is very suspect. They low ball and lie. NO ONE came out to talk to me, not even Klaus. I'd call that UNPROFESSIONAL... BAD customer relations. I brought an important document of MINE for them to COPY not KEEP, instead Sammy kept it. I need that back by the way. Will I get it? Probably NOT. Fits in with the rest of my experience here. I would say, BUYER BEWARE. I read other reviews before going and they're very bad, (good thing I wasn't buying anything). I can see why. The best customer service there was their free soda. They have nice cars and a LOT of vultures, sales people, on the lot. When I got home I had a text asking me to remove my bad reviews. So I changed them with brevity in mind. I am waiting for the check to clear the bank. I don't trust LIARS. I would NEVER recommend this store to anyone because I was lied to. Look at the other reviews to see how they treat buyers and decide for yourself. I feel sorry for the person who buys the Porsche because they said they're not going to fix anything they had issues with. AS IS BUYER BEWARE. Shame on you STG for your shady business practices. I would NEVER buy a car from you. This is based on my experience and their bad reviews. I've owned a lot of cars in my long life and STG ranks up in my top 3 WORST auto dealers. My suggestions: better customer service and less time on your computer, dress professionally, don't walk around VAPING, stay with your customer during the transaction and don't lie to customers. I'll never return. More
I was warned not to come here beforehand, however decided to since I already had an appointment. We show up and the car is already sold. Was communicating back and forth for 3 days and was told we can’t look to since I already had an appointment. We show up and the car is already sold. Was communicating back and forth for 3 days and was told we can’t look at it due to it being maintenance, and detailed for the showroom floor. They make us an appointment to come test drive the car so we drive over an hour to come look at this car just for them to sell it before hand with no communication, but also as we arrive they simply did not care at all that we had an appointment and made our day out to come look at the car. Honestly one of if not the absolute worst dealership and business overall I have ever stepped foot into. Unprofessional, careless and is simply a spot I do not recommend at all to anyone under any circumstances. I even tried leaving zero starts and couldn’t so the one star you see isn’t even earned. Don’t waste your time and energy with STG Auto Group of Montclair. More
I went there with my Girlfriend to buy a used Fiat EV. Everything was fine for the most part, but the car was missing a charger. The salesman, Jerry, said he'd order a charger for her and that it'd be the Everything was fine for the most part, but the car was missing a charger. The salesman, Jerry, said he'd order a charger for her and that it'd be there next week, and that he would call when it came in. Seemed simple enough. But he never called, and instead dodged all her calls. Then when she finally insisted in talking to a manager, he said they would never do such a thing. On top of that, a headlight and tail light went out barely a month after she got it home, and had driven it maybe five times. She mentioned that, and the supervisor's response was basically, oh well, not our problem. That may be technically true, but if that's how you do business, you are not someone who people should do business with. Buyer beware indeed. These people embody the worst stereotypes of the used car salesmen. More
Predatory sales tactics and language discrimination. "I had a terrible experience at STG Auto Group of Montclair. They took advantage of the fact that I do not speak, read, or write English. They never "I had a terrible experience at STG Auto Group of Montclair. They took advantage of the fact that I do not speak, read, or write English. They never provided a translation of the contract, which is a legal requirement in California if the deal was negotiated in Spanish. The salesperson lied to me, claiming that the bank required me to purchase nearly $6,000 in unnecessary 'add-on' products (Tracking Device, Replacement Protection, and Appearance Protection) just to get the loan approved. This is a lie and an illegal practice. I’ve tried to speak with the manager twice in person, called, and sent emails to cancel these products, but they are dodging me. They even delivered the car without floor mats. I have already filed a formal complaint with the DMV and other government agencies. Stay away from this place; they are abusive and dishonest More
I had an extremely frustrating experience with STG Auto Group and feel obligated to warn others. Their communication and customer service have been absolutely terrible. When I bought my car, they installe Group and feel obligated to warn others. Their communication and customer service have been absolutely terrible. When I bought my car, they installed a GPS tracker—but it was spliced into the wiring incorrectly. It ended up causing issues and I had to pay out of pocket to have it professionally removed. When I contacted STG Auto Group about it, they refused to reimburse me for the cost, even though the problem was caused by their faulty installation. On top of that, they also promised to fix the driver-side door striker before or after the sale. It’s now been over a month and the repair still hasn’t been done. Every time I try to follow up, the sales manager, Ceaser, just gives me the runaround with excuses and no real resolution. Even more disappointing, the general manager, Neiman, has never reached out or attempted to address the situation at all. For a dealership that claims to care about customers, this level of neglect is unacceptable. Between the poor workmanship, broken promises, lack of accountability, and terrible communication, this has been one of the worst car-buying experiences I’ve had. I strongly recommend thinking twice before doing business with STG Auto Group More
They were great until we made payment. They tack on two ridiculously expensive add-ons that you cannot opt out of because they do it to every car they receive with a total of $3000 added t They tack on two ridiculously expensive add-ons that you cannot opt out of because they do it to every car they receive with a total of $3000 added to your bill. One is a clearcoat to protect the doors and the other is a useless GPS that they claim is an antitheft device and saves you money on your insurance, but it definitely doesn’t for most insurances. Furthermore, they lied about when we were receiving the car and kept pushing it back and we were supposed to get an engine cover dropped shipped to us and they ghosted us repeatedly. We finally found out that it was sitting at their warehouse just waiting to be shipped to us, it’s a terrible place and if you can avoid it, do not go there. More
They sold me paint warranties and two anti theft devices and I tried to cancel them because why do I need paint protection on something I was wrapping anyway and two I bought the portfolio appearance protec and I tried to cancel them because why do I need paint protection on something I was wrapping anyway and two I bought the portfolio appearance protection warranty and I cannot use it. They keep denying my claims so 3,000$ in the trash. They won’t cancel them. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. More
It was a mistake to visit this dealership without checking reviews beforehand. Over the phone, they promised one thing, but once we arrived, additional unexpected charges appeared. The sales manag checking reviews beforehand. Over the phone, they promised one thing, but once we arrived, additional unexpected charges appeared. The sales manager refused to print or clearly explain the breakdown of the fees, saying that all printers were busy. His attitude was rude and unprofessional, which made the experience very uncomfortable. When I decided to leave, they stopped me and said they would offer a better deal, but the same manager returned with the exact same price and said, “Take it or leave it.” Overall, poor customer service and lack of transparency. I would not recommend this dealership. More
