I was entirely due to the knowledge, expertise and amazing customer service through Royal Oak Ford that my husband and I were willing to try another Ford product. We had a mediocre experience at best with out previous Ford dealer and Royal Oak Ford really stepped up to the plate to turn our experience around and create a very positive impression. I was out on Saturday morning pricing various Ford dealerships for inventory when I came to Royal Oak Ford and before I knew it, I was out that afternoon with my new 2011 Ford Fusion. This place is terrible!!! The salesmen completely jerked me around. They did not have the exact model I was looking for, but I was told that I could come in have my trade in assessed, test drive a similar me around. They did not have the exact model I was looking for, but I was told that I could come in have my trade in assessed, test drive a similar vehicle and that they could order me the one I wanted if I decided to move forward. I arrived and was handed off between two different sales guys even though I had made an appointment with the one I wanted to work with. After the test drive, I told them I wanted them to order me the vehicle and then they said they couldn't guarantee they could get it and that they would have to call around for me. This was not what I had been told or I wouldn't have even gone there. To make matters worse, they then refused to even look at my trade in because they may not even have a car to sell me. They never even called to follow up with me to let me know if they could order the vehicle. In addition, the sales person gave me bad information about the car and tried to push the models they had on the lot instead of ordering me the car I wanted. I was so frustrated that at one point I contacted the sales manager (thinking if I made him aware they could improve) and he was condescending and rude to me. He defended the sales guy saying that he was new and told me that there is no way any sales person can be expected to know all the Ford specifics. I will never go back and I plan on letting everyone I know what a terrible place this is. More

I purchased a 2009 Ford Focus at Royal Oak Ford, 27550 N. Woodward, Royal Oak, MI 48067. I have followed all the guidelines for maintenance per my warranty. When I took it in for an oil change April 17, l Woodward, Royal Oak, MI 48067. I have followed all the guidelines for maintenance per my warranty. When I took it in for an oil change April 17, l was informed that there might be a problem with my front suspension. The complete workup to find out what was wrong was $105. I was advised I probably would need sway links and possibly ball joints. The sway links were said to cost up to $230 and the ball joints might cost approximately $500. The mechanic told me he thought I was still under warranty (I later checked and found I was only under warranty for the engine and transmission, so he was wrong). All of this seemed very unlikely as I only have about 9,000 miles on the car. I took the car to a certified mechanic for a second opinion. The mechanic told me there is absolutely no problem with my car. He went on to add that he would never take it to the people who changed my oil (done at Royal Oak Ford) because they were so messy. There was oil all around the engine compartment, and even oily hand prints on the oil filter. On top of that, my tires were over-inflated by at least 9 lbs each, thus causing excessive wear on the tires and a much harder ride. I am a single woman, and I purchased this car expecting the dealership where I bought it to give me the best service. This blatant abuse of my trust has made me furious! I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this dealership. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Highway Safety Commission. More
I have a 2012 Focus with 12,000 miles on. I only had the car 6 months when the cooling fan went out. When they took it out they damaged my air conditioning line. It took them a week to fix it. They are having problems with this new design and my car has been in three times to have a new update to the software. You have to argue with them to get anything done. They tell you that Ford knows about the problem and there's nothing they can do. Meanwhile I'm paying a lot of money for a car that doesn't run right. I left the dealership a couple of bad reviews and was told not to return in the future. Wouldn't recommend the 2012 Focus or the dealership to anyone. More
My husband and I were GM owners for 30 years. We were in the market for a new tow vehicle and felt the F150 was superior to the GM/Chevy comparable. As Royal Oak homeowners we like to support RO businesses the market for a new tow vehicle and felt the F150 was superior to the GM/Chevy comparable. As Royal Oak homeowners we like to support RO businesses so we naturally went to RO Ford to look at vehicles. I will summarize by saying that the Manager, General Manager and Owner of this dealership really could care less about the customer satisfaction they brag about. We had an unfortunate experience with delivery of our new truck. The truck did not come in as ordered after waiting 5 weeks for delivery. Our option was to walk away from the sale, or re-order the vehicle less options that were no longer available. We had already sold our current tow vehicle. We were upset and disappointed that we were put into this situation. This was communicated to the salesman, sales manager and general manager. There was no attempt at service recovery whatsoever. We were treated disrespectfully by the salesman and the sales manager. The General Manager made not attempt to call us after communicating our concerns. I continued to call her until I reached her. She did sound sincere and sympathetic to our experience, but we never heard from her again. I followed up with a letter to the owner, who again did not attempt to call us. We were very disappointed in how we were treated after spending $40+k on a vehicle. We won't support this business for any reason in the future and neither will our family and friends. More
