Most unreliable people. Can’t keep the word & there own quotes. They change there commitments every minute. They will waste your time, energy & money. Surprised how worlds most reliable company (Honda) app quotes. They change there commitments every minute. They will waste your time, energy & money. Surprised how worlds most reliable company (Honda) appoints most unreliable people (route 22). I received a very attractive quote for Honda CRV-EX from route 22. I again confirmed the price through e mail and they said the price is good and we have all colors available. Next day before starting from Staten island-NY I called them for confirmation as I have to travel for almost 40 minutes they again confirmed me the price is good and all colors are available. I reached there and on the entrance of the showroom I met guy who introduced him self as John and said he was waiting for me only. Then he bought is inventory report and said that due to month/year end he sold almost all cars except one that is Black with beige interiors. I told him I want to see the vehicle physically the he took around 40 minutes to bring the car. I went there to buy silver color crv but then I said its ok give me black crv. He took my driver license and insurance card for processing after that he was missing. After around one hour the manager comes in the picture and says the vehicle is not available the vehicle showed to me is already sold. I told him no problem I can wait for the vehicle how much time it will take? he said 15 to 20 days I said its of After that the manager got missing after waiting for more than one and a half hour I went to his cabin and he said he is coming then again he was missing for almost an hour. Then he came to me and said he cant commit me when he can deliver the vehicle may be it can take 40 days I said of give me in 60 day but give me in writing he said may be it can take some more time I said him its ok I can wait for 75 days but give me in writing he said if Honda stop manufacturing crv how can I give you so he refused to give me the vehicle after such a long e mail conversation, telephone conversation and wasted my almost half day and that too new year eve More
I have been looking for a new car for the past two weeks. On December 28, 2009, I found a 2009 Honda Fit Sport located at Route 22 Honda in Hillside, NJ. The price on the website is $17,780. I viewed the 16 pictures on the website and the car looked really nice. I decided to call to make sure the car was in stock. Kelly answered the phone and asked me for the stock number. I didn't see it on the website, but I found the VIN # so I gave it to her. She stated, "Yes, the car is available, would you like to make an appointment so we can pull the car in front? By the time you get here, we can have the car ready for you to do the test drive". I wasn't sure if I was able to make it because of my part time job, but I told her I was really interested to purchase the car. She stated that if I came by today that I could talk to Joseph Lynch, the manager and the best person to talk to. I hung up the phone and immediately called my insurance agent with the VIN number to get an insurance quote. After I obtained the insurance quote, I decided to call Route 22 Honda back to get more information about the price and financing. This time MaryAnn answered my call. I explained to her of my prior conversation with Kelly regarding the 2009 Honda Fit Sport. MaryAnn confirmed that the car was in stock. I started asking about the financing, but she refused to give me that information because she works in the "Internet Department" and not with the financing. I asked her if it was possible to speak to a sales person, to get more information. She stated, "I apologize but we are a really busy dealership and there is not a salesman available at the moment". She asked me to hold, came back to the phone and said, "We have the car and I have just been told we can give you a better price. We can give you the car for $16,500, but if you come today, tomorrow or before Thursday we can drop another $500, but it has to be before Thursday”. The price was a really good deal, $16,000. For the 2009 it was a couple of thousand less than the quote for a NEW 2010 Honda Fit Sport I had from another Honda dealer for $18,000. I felt that since it was last years’ model, the price was good. To take advantage of the good deal, I called my part time job asking for permission to miss work. I arrived at the dealership and asked for MaryAnn. She wasn't available, so they called Joel Maldonado (salesman), so he could assist me with my purchase. He asked me which car I was looking for and I pointed out the car which was located right in front of me. I told him that this was the car I would like to purchase. He advised me that the car was available, but it has a special Mugen Body Kit, so the cost of the car is $7,500.00 more. I was so disappointed, because I spoke to two different people from the dealership during the day, and they gave a totally different price for the car and never said anything about the Body Kit. In addition, the website doesn’t say anything about the extra cost. The pictures and the features listed of the car on the website show all the parts including “The Mugen wheels, grille, spoilers, and mats”. I asked him to please check the website, and call MaryAnn because she gave me the price. He went to Joseph to get onto the internet, and returned stating that it was a mistake on the internet. He apologized, but stated that the cost of the car was $23,000.00. I would understand if they have a disclaimer saying the model may vary, or if the pictures were of different cars or colors. The pictures were of the car at the dealership and I even spoke to Kelly and MaryAnn at two different times to get the price, which they even dropped. I explained all of this to Joel and his answer was, “If you want to take us to court, go ahead”. I asked him to please call Joseph, so we can solve this problem. He called Joseph, who took almost 10 minutes to come out of the office. When he finally came out he said, “I’m sorry there is nothing we can do, it was a mistake on the internet, and we are going to correct it”. I told him that I was not satisfied, and that it was not my fault that they provided false information. He told me again that there was nothing they could do. My experience at the Route 22 Honda was really unpleasant. It cost me hours of my time, loss of income, and not to mention I traveled 60 miles out of my way. It is my opinion that this is false advertising. In addition, as of today, December 29, 2009, the advertisement on the internet has not been corrected. It still reflects the sales price of $17,780 with all the special features. More
This was the WORST experience I have ever had trying to purchase a car. All that I can say is this dealership exemplifies the quintessential "car salesman", and even smells like one! We are currently in purchase a car. All that I can say is this dealership exemplifies the quintessential "car salesman", and even smells like one! We are currently in the market for a 2010 Honda Odyssey EXL with a Rear Entertainment System, and we shopped 2 other dealerships before visiting Route 22 Honda. Now, the only reason I called them is because their website was advertising a 0.75% financing rate, and my husband and I have near-perfect credit, so I thought it would be great to take advantage of this offer. WRONG! I called and spoke with the so-called Internet Sales Manipulator, Mary Ann, and she quoted me $31,206 for this vehicle, and said that as long as we had superior credit, we could get the vehicle for 0.75% for 60 months, which was much better than the 2.9% that Honda is offering now. I confirmed with her 3 times that this deal was legit, and I also told her I did not want to drive there if this was going to be a bait and switch. She confirmed this was legitimate, and assured me that they could honor BOTH the sales price and the interest rates/terms, provided we had good credit (which we do). We drove down Route 22 and were ready to buy the vehicle right then and there! However...BAIT AND SWITCH... is what this dealership is all about! Do NOT fall for it like we did and waste your time!! As soon as we showed up for our 1 PM appointment, they said Mary Ann was not available, and they sent her Sales Manager Mike Feltman onto the scene. After a few winks and a cheesy introduction, metro Mike immediately asked us what color vehicle we were interested in, and we told him, along with the terms and pricing we discussed with Mary Ann. HOWEVER, he told us he could NOT meet that price and that the 0.75% could only be available for 36 months. Mary Ann told us she had 11 of these vehicles in stock as well, and he told us he only had ONE in stock, and it was black. After we became infuriated by his manipulative tactics, he then back-peddled and said that he could honor the price ONLY on this black vehicle, and that he would agree to the terms for 60 months. HONESTLY- WHY DOES BUYING A CAR HAVE TO BE THIS HARD AND DISHONEST??? Then, he evaluated our Trade-In and offered us $3000 below what every other dealer offered, so I guess the big light-bulb over his head indicated that he would rip us off there to make up for the bogus quote from Mary Ann. So, after the trade-in quote, I told my husband that it's time to leave. They don't deserve our business, and even if we could bridge the $3000 gap on our trade-in, who knows what else these devils will try to tack on to the final price. At that point, we lost all trust for these people, and I was not willing to negotiate a second longer. Needless to say, we were very disappointed by the strong smell of after-shave in the place and the BAIT AND SWITCH by Route 22 Honda. If you call them and they give you a quote over the phone, do not believe it. You would be better off going to another dealership. We wasted 3 hours of our life that we'll never get back by falling into the Mary Ann and Mike Feltman bait and switch routine. I'm sure they pull this one all of the time. He blamed the bad quote on Mary Ann, and told me that "you never talked to me, so I can't be responsible for what she said". Whatever, metro! She's one of your managers, and ultimately, YOU are responsible for what she tells people and how she represents your business. Talk about passing the buck... Not to mention, now that I've read about all the other horrible experiences these other people had at Route 22 Honda, like them adding the extended warranty without asking (isn't that illegal??), I am SO glad that we didn't buy a vehicle from them. They don't deserve our business or yours!! Run far, far away from this dealership. The only good thing was the gourmet coffee. At least I got a free cup of Joe for my troubles... By the way, we are going back to the original dealership we negotiated with to buy our Odyssey. And EVERYONE- please read your paperwork at ALL dealerships from front to back and back to front, and don't ever sign anything from them without doing so. I'm so sorry you were the victim of these malicious and deceitful tactics. More

Although I purchased a used vehicle "as is," when I arrived at home I found that there were aspects of the car that the sales consultant indicated would be fixed if I purchased it. Somehow, there was a miscommunication and it didn't getting repaired. Despite the fact that Mr. Pearce did not have to authorize any repair, he was willing to go the extra mile and authorize the service department to make the appropriate adjustments. Jose Arriyo, the service manager, was very professional and considerate when speaking to me. He was kind and pleasant throughout the process. I can only say that Route 22 Honda is a place where you feel like a V.I.P. Because of my positive experiences and interactions with Mr. Pearce, I will be purchasing my next vehicle from this dealership. Moreover, I encourage others to seriously consider purchasing from Route 22 Honda. They are by far the best dealership with which I have worked over the course of 20 years. More
Although I arrived at the car dealership with skepticism, I was surprised by how comfortable I felt after speaking with Consultant, Mr. William Ortiz and Sales Manager, Mr. Marlon Villatro. In the past, my e I was surprised by how comfortable I felt after speaking with Consultant, Mr. William Ortiz and Sales Manager, Mr. Marlon Villatro. In the past, my experiences with salespersons working at car dealerships have been characterized by feelings of frustration, anger, and the sense that I was getting ripped off. However, this was not the case at Route 22 Honda. Both William and Marlon were very considerate and sensitive to my needs and those of my family; their strong interpersonal skills coupled with a desire to maintain a high level of professionalism created an atmosphere where receptive feedback and proposals for other potential options were discussed in a manner that was supportive and accommodating. At times when I had concerns with a price that seemed too high (e.g., warranty), I expressed my concern to both salespersons. I especially appreciated when Sales Manager, Marlon Villatro "went to bat for me," and advocated on my behalf to the General Manager, John Pearce who, after considerable discussion, authorized a reduced price on a warranty. I was surprised that they were able to present a number that was more than reasonable. Both William and Marlon were integral in enhancing my overall experience at Route 22 Honda. They were quick to answer questions in a thorough and comprehensive manner, providing other documents to support their assertions. Even, when I felt like I was asking a "dumb" question, they were very respectful. I really appreciated that because I’m sure I would have felt frustrated had I been in their position; whether they were frustrated or not, they presented a positive attitude. This is clearly reflective of the leadership of the managers and owner. I also had an opportunity to speak with the General Sales Manager, John Pearce; he, like the other salespersons, was approachable, professional and quite personable. It was evident to me during the 4-5 hours I was there that Mr. Pearce takes his leadership position quite seriously and is deeply invested in the organization. Moreover, he places special emphasis on ensuring that the Consultants, Sales managers, and others involved, do their best to try to meet the needs of the client. Last, I had the pleasure of working with Finance Director, Ron Davis, who was amiable, accommodating and understanding of what I was seeking with regard to payment. He did his best in being flexible and trying to find out how much money I could put down. Also, he provided valuable information regarding laws in NJ regarding financing. It was a pleasure to work with him. In sum, it was a pleasure to work with William, Marlon, John Pearce, and Ron Davis. I would strongly recommend seeking these individuals out when you consider your next purchase. Since my purchase, I reviewed the numbers and I did not locate any hidden costs; everything on paper reflected what was discussed with the staff at Route 22 Honda. I’d like to add one caveat. While I did have an outstanding experience, I do encourage future buyers to come in with knowledge about the vehicle of interest, allow available time so that you can review the materials thoroughly, particularly the contract. Asking questions for elaboration will help you before you sign. This recommendation would go out to anyone seeking to purchase a car. Sincerely, Mark H. Chae, Ph.D. More
