I went to Brad Benson to Lease an Mitsubishi Outlander SE I went to Brad Benson to Lease an Mitsubishi Outlander SE with AWD....I met with Steve L. the internet salesman since I checked the vehicle on line.. I went to Brad Benson to Lease an Mitsubishi Outlander SE with AWD....I met with Steve L. the internet salesman since I checked the vehicle on line....I told Mr Steve L. i want to purchase an AWD Outlander,he Told me we will check the lot for the different colors it comes in.During the test drivewhich is only around Rte 1(which is not away to test drive the Vech., I was driving an FWD and told him wanted an AWD.He had Forgot(which People do Forget so I am not Holding him fot that.Steve L. told me to think about the Tuson which came in the AWD, After looking at it I told them i want the Outlander. He took me in the showroom to see what they can do for me....I met with Tommy M.-Sales Manager who Steve L. told him what i was looking for...Tommy M. told me he will have the vehicle that I am looking for on Friday, I was told by Tommy M. just come in Friday to sign Paperwork and take the Vehicle....Later that night after attempting to contact him about the time frame, he told my wife that he never stated that..I had to come in on Friday to sign the paperwork than they will get the the vehicle. I returned on Friday to meet with Steve L. who was busy with another customer, Steve L. introduced me to Rus-Saleman who just started an month ago. Rus was told i was now looking for an Tuson AWD and take good care of me. We went in the lot to see Tusons that meet my requirments that i am lookking for. When I went back Saturday was told they were going to meet my numbers. I was told they will not meet why mumbers, I left the showroom only to get a call Brad Benson is going to meet my numbers only to going back to find out that their Business Office tells the Salesmangers and Salesman what the final numbers will be....This is wrong since the Mangers and Salesperson tell the Business office what deal is and not the Business Office. They also knew I was going from an FWD to an AWD, which they played dumb about it and added more to the trade......While Showing me AWD Vehicles..... Also be aware that they have two different prices on the vehicles ...One is the MRSP which they don't use and the other is their price for the vehicle which you are looking to purchase this is about $2,000 to $400,00 higher for you added features may not want but must get it since they already prep the vehicles with the added features, this is totally wrong and not allowed, This causes customers that may not want to have the extra's on the vehicle into getting it and buying the auto. The Mangers talk you into something u don't want and look into a different cost and rates for you to Lease or buy. I would not recommed this dealer unless you want to be a victim of Highway Robbery. Unlike other reviews - this was the most pleasant experience (surprisingly) buying a new car -- and the two guys with whom we worked could not have been nicer. Steve Yellovich and and Jason Ostrowsky experience (surprisingly) buying a new car -- and the two guys with whom we worked could not have been nicer. Steve Yellovich and and Jason Ostrowsky (Sales Manager) were absolutely superb - with phenomenal customer service. I was a serious buyer who was in town for the holidays from out of state. I had no interest in being hassled or dealing with a typical car salesperson. Knowing I was coming in, they pulled the car aside for me (it was the only one on the lot) - Hyundai Sonata Hybrid premium package. They were waiting for us when we got there - test drive, price, agreed, done. They were very forthcoming with the details of the sale. The financing part (different folks) took an inordinately long time to finalize... While we were waiting, they kept checking in on us. Any questions or requests I had, they accommodated. I did my research in advance and knew what my limits were and what to expect for price, etc. I would have been completely prepared to walk away if the deal did not come to fruition. You can't get something for nothing, including the upgrades, etc. So, if you do your research you will know what is fair - and I absolutely feel that I got a fair deal. If ever I were to buy a car, I would have wanted to buy it from Steve and Jason - because they were fabulous and sincerely nice people. Before going in to the dealer, I would have anticipated a typical experience (ie. not pleasant and quite stressful). This was the complete opposite. I would have anticipated 50/50 chance I would have purchased the car. Alas, I bought it, and absolutely love it. I would not mess around with any other sales person but these two. I expect the experience would have been vastly different had we had to work with someone else. They took very good care of us - despite how busy the dealer was. I felt compelled to write this review - because of all of the negative ones. (The latter almost put me off from visiting despite the breadth of their selection.) I have to say, some of the customers were a bit mental and I would not want to have to deal with them myself.. but, as far as the buying experience, I could not compliment these two more highly and would recommend them without any reservation to a serious buyer. Ask for them by name and you will likely save a lot of time and hassle. More
I was interested in dealing only with Bill Terrell based upon this website and the reviews he had received. I went there on 11/25 (Black Friday)to see for myself if this website was correct/true. He did liv upon this website and the reviews he had received. I went there on 11/25 (Black Friday)to see for myself if this website was correct/true. He did live up to all the praise. His energy at(0600)was refreshing, even while his co-salesman around him were just starting to wake up and consume coffee for the day's madness. His knowledge of the vehicle (TUCSON GLS) was exemplary (yes, all salesman should know the product but you be surprised how many do not). Now, being a car salesman as he is, I knew it's going to be a "battle". However, he was very patient, never difficult and calm throughout the process. We took two test drives (Santa Fe and Tucson) and I made sure I stress tested the vehicles and even Bill. He did not crack and though I had control of the whole situation (yes, remember consumers that you can control the negotiations, not the car salesman!!!) Bill, was cordial and accommodating. I even asked to move the discussion off the floor to the CS area for quiet (dealership music was too loud to talk (its a common tactic to dazzle and confuse and get you out of your element (think Casinos)). Well while things with Bill went well he next turned me over to the Sales Manager (Mike). Now, Mike was a different guy than Bill with a different agenda due to his job title. Mike wasn't a "bad guy" in this process but due to his chosen profession and job title he was clearly a obstacle. He was a challenge and came across as what you expect (difficult and fast talking). People, you must remember that when the Sales Manager comes, he will say "NO" and want you to come up from your price. Be firm and also get an clear understanding what ALL the fees are. There are only 3 that are non-negoitable (Destination, sales tax and DMV documentation). Oh, especially the Glass etching for $199 is totally not needed!!!! Well, as quick as Mike ran through these fees and numbers, he and I battled over the fees. I got most of what I believe out of this process with Mike. Though his demanor and tempermant was much different than Bill's, Mike was an "ok" guy. After a bit (I mean hours), it was them and me slowing the process to a crawl (yes folks make sure you have time to go through this!!). Bill handed me off to the Finance Manager (Kevin), He seemed to be okay, though his job is to upsell you and do financing. Remember, you need to be armed before you go in with an idea of your credit rating and score. This will come in handy right here. Finance Managers will BS you into a loan at the best rate for them, the dealership. Also, come armed with a pre-approved loan. Now Kevin (FM) was very patient with me as Bill was out there. He ran the numbers and quoted me something I totally expected to qualify for. Though my "ace-in-sleeve" was pre-approved, he worked with me and somehow got a lower rate through another bank (other than Hyundia Financing Corp). Thank you Kevin for that!. Now talking money with the FM is where I shine. I know from all the internet research the standard sales lines he's going to throw at you. Listen folks, most people do not need any extended warranties. Think, you have a car thats under manufatuturer warranty for 6/60K, 10/100K pwrtrain. Most people keep a car for the term of the loan anyhow. These extended warranties had me going covered until 2021. Now I'm positive that I would want a new car between year 5 (end of my 60 month loan) and 2021. Never take the warranty because your paying for something now that you may never use in the future. Google the definition of a finance term called "Present Value and Future Value of money" These concepts will show you that extended warranties are most times a BAD investment. Okay so I shot Kevin's upsell pitch down fast. Next came the documentation. Consumers, please read them thoughly and do not sign anything you do not understand until you get clarification. Ask detailed questions about the numbers and what you are signing. Also, here's a tip, these vehicles are at retail price, meaning they have options added to them. Read the stickers on the vehicle. The big # is retail with a bunch of overpriced options (ex. moldings, etc). NEVER SIGN anything unless you verify with you own eyes that the vechile contains such options. He will pitch you saying "we will put them on later.....BLAH BLAH BLAH". NO, DO NOT SIGN unless 1) you get it in writing on the Brad Benson Letterhead and notarized, or 2) tell them put it on then and there and verfiy for yourself. Too many times I see or hear that a dealer verbally promised something, only to reneg late on. Ok, after I expressed my desire to have my options added right then and there, I signed. Oh, another thing, ask for copies of all docs signed. And so now I have a new vechile. Make sure you get the manual, at least 2 keys and key fabs and a full tank of gas. Back to Bill; he was also very patient and accommodating at the close here. He drove with me up to the Exxon to top off the gasoline tank and during the course, ran through the interior's features. Yeah, he went fast but that's ok, it's all in the manual. Yes, READ YOUR VEHICLE'S MANUAL! Overall, my experience was good because I came prepared with information from other dealers, internet and here at this website. Do you homework folks, you won't totally "win" against the car salesman, sales mananger and finance manager but you can make a good deal! PS: GO WITH BILL!!!!!! More
After a bad experience at another NJ Hyundai dealership, I went to Brad Benson from a recommendation from a family member. I kicked myself for not coming to Brad Benson first!! Bill Terell was my salesman I went to Brad Benson from a recommendation from a family member. I kicked myself for not coming to Brad Benson first!! Bill Terell was my salesman and was a great guy. He welcomed us soon after we exited our car in the parking lot. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and treated us like we were his family visiting his home. He was very professional with working through the deal and took charge in making sure everything was taken care of with my registration, insurance and even the hook-up with the Blue Link system in my car. He had a great sense of humor and still stayed professional in working with us. I would highly recommend Brad Benson and Bill Terrell for a car purchase. More

I went into Brad Benson to find out more about their 30% off /6,000 check deal being advertised on the radio. I left buying a 2012, Veloster! I have never bought a new car on my own- without having someone accompany me for the purchase. I would like to say that Bill Terrell was extremely pleasant to deal with! I would recommend him to anyone buying a car. I did not feel pressured by him at all. As a matter of fact, I think he is one of the main reasons I actually went through with the purchase at Brad Benson, Hyundai! He was well informed and courteous. He went out of his way to answer questions and help me feel comfortable. If you are looking to buy a Hyundai, I would say go to Brad Benson and work with Bill Terrell!
