We bought a car and signed up a contract with a third party lender that we chose and got approved for ( we verified and lender said yes,, but the dealer never closed the deal) a few days later we found o party lender that we chose and got approved for ( we verified and lender said yes,, but the dealer never closed the deal) a few days later we found out finance made their own decision without letting us know and closed the deal with a company that we never approved, it has poor reviews and now they refused to cancel the deal. The contract says that We have the right to choose our lender and yet, that wasn’t our case. We will be filing a complaint with Attorney General and Better Business B. because we never agreed to these terms. If you come to this place don’t trust finance. Sale representatives are wonderful people. More

I bought a 2020 Nissan Altima from Gresham Hyundai. I was introduced to my salesperson Darwin. He was very professional and very very helpful. Because of the whole covid situation I was very skeptical about leaving my home to buy a car. But my salesperson Darwin brought cars to my home and I even bought my vehicle here in my living room! I recently purchased a car and had the pleasure of working with Darwin. It was a surprisingly easy experience with everything going on (Covid) I felt all of my needs were taken care of, the facility a working with Darwin. It was a surprisingly easy experience with everything going on (Covid) I felt all of my needs were taken care of, the facility as well as cars were well maintained and very obviously cleaned for us. I will be telling my family and friends about how well I was treated and hopefully they all go see Darwin! He listened to my needs and never made me feel like he was just trying to take me for all my money. How many people can say they left a car dealership and say they were completely satisfied with everything? At least I can. Thanks again Ron Tonkin and Darwin! 10/10 More
Excellent buying experience Once I decided I was getting a Veloster N with the Performance Package, I submitted inquiries to local dealers who had them in stock. Melissa Slover here at Tonkin's Gresham Hyundai was one of only two who provided a price quote better than MSRP minus Hyundai's current incentive. Withnell Salem Hyundai was the second; their listed price was better so I asked if Gresham could match. Gresham said yes without any issue. My schedule for the month was pretty hectic, but eventually I set up an appointment to come view the car. They had no problem with a test drive, so off we went! During that drive though, another customer apparently decided to purchase the vehicle. Melissa was able to get another one on a dealer trade that evening, and she offered the same deal on the trade. I said yes and signed the paperwork. That alone was awesome; in my experience a dealer won't offer the same price on a trade since the car wasn't already in their inventory. Tonkin Gresham did. I don't know if that's normal, or if it was just because the car I came for sold while I was there, but either way I was impressed. That evening I took delivery of my new car! The only two downsides to my visit aren't things I can hold against them. The first is the time getting through finance; it took a few hours. For whatever reason, a bunch of us showed up at the dealership around the same time, and from what I could tell all of us decided to buy almost simultaneously. They only had one finance guy working. I didn't notice any other customers show up for the remainder of the evening, and having worked retail I've personally experienced short staffing issues upon unusually large and sudden rushes of customers myself (for instance, having one cashier is fine when nobody shows up for an hour, but then it sucks when ten or so literally show up 15 minutes before you close...go figure). They were repeatedly very apologetic about the wait time. Once I got to the finance office, everything went quickly and smoothly. The other downside is the condition of the building. Of all the dealerships I've been to over the past year while narrowing down my car choice, this one may be the oldest and most worn I encountered. It's cramped, got cold as the evening progressed (particularly in a seemingly unheated bathroom), and just really needs updates. They did at least have some giant bows (Christmas season) and a couple cars in the showroom to help liven things up and provide some privacy between tables. Maybe Hyundai doesn't provide its dealers with renovation money. Maybe the higher-ups at Tonkin don't want to invest in improvements. Maybe the dealer has to do it and can't afford it. Maybe Gresham has some zoning or code restricting what they can do. Whatever the case, this place deserves some love! Overall I'm extremely satisfied. Everyone I spoke and worked with was friendly. The deal was excellent. They've been very responsive with every question I've had. And now I have an awesome car too! More
