Dear Mr. Lynds, we appreciate that there was a lot to consider in making this purchase possible. In response to your comments… 1. Your black emblems cost has been refunded to you via check cut on 12/2/2020 2. Your $1000 deposit has been credited back to your credit card PRIOR to your comments 3. The vehicle passed NYS Inspection. We had our driver drive the vehicle to Massachusetts to have the inspection done where it did not pass. You now insist on $800 discount which we will not give. So we will not sell you our vehicle. 4. Now you are trying to still purchase the vehicle by demanding us to pay to have it pass Massachusetts inspection by demanding us to pay $1305.37 (take off the selling price). 5. We will not be bullied by you posting to all the review sites you are currently posting to (and reporting to the Better Business Bureau) and telling us you will not remove these detrimental posts unless we give you the $1305.37 and sell you the truck. Here’s your exact words, “If this deal is contingent upon my removal of the dealer reviews on DealerRater, Edmunds, and with the Better Business Bureau of New York, Romeo Chevrolet Buick GMC would have to cover the expected cost of labor and parts to convert the exhaust system back to GM stock, totaling $1,305.37 (as quoted by Bedard Chevrolet of Pittsfield, MA) and remove that cost from the overall purchase price.” We are a respectable dealership and chose not to do business with you. Because of your selling tactics, and shady business practices, you're not really worth the reply, so this is more for anyone reading this that has an interest in purchasing from you. 1. You were never authorized to sell these emblems, and they were instructed to be returned to me if the purchase never materialized. Your Sales Manager lied (again) to try and get me to tell you how much I paid for them so you wouldn't have to pay the retail cost on your own website. If you're buying a vehicle at this dealership, have someone else do maintenance and repairs. 2. Imagine BRAGGING about returning someone's deposit. The audacity. As of this date, it has not yet gone back on my credit card. I have filed a chargeback because of it. 3. At the time of inspection, I was instructed that this dealership would "cut [me] a check for $800" but only if I would take it to the RMV right now and register the vehicle. If you hear the terms "cut you a check" or "we'll pay for that" from this dealership, without it being in writing, do not walk away. RUN. They have never put it in writing, and even after offering a $600 discount on the phone today, were unwilling to honor the original $800 offer, or put anything in writing. 3A. Yes, this vehicle is being registered, sold, and driven in Massachusetts. Imagine wanting it to have passed Massachusetts emissions and inspection. It also failed the Evaporative System OBD Scan, but who's counting. 4. After posting a non-editorialized review of my experience with Romeo Chevrolet Buick GMC, I get a call at 9:30AM this morning from their GM. I thought I was done with this transaction after being told the day before that the truck had sold. Now apparently it's not only available again, but they want to talk to see how they can remedy my experience! They ask how much it costs to fix the emissions issue, and I tell them. They say "we'll pay $650". I say, put it in writing. They say "we need to talk it over". They call back because they don't put these things in writing. "We can offer you $600", and I say that I need to think about it. 5. In return to this conversation, I send an email asking them to honor their original $800 offer from the total of the vehicle and we can close, but I stipulated that if this sale was contingent on having me remove the reviews I posted, they would need to cover the cost of the issues on their vehicle in full before I would purchase. They call me back and say "deals off", I shrug and go about my day. Listen, at the end of the day, do you REALLY want to do business for THOUSANDS of dollars with someone who would act like this? Who would be THIS petty? They lie, they're deceitful, and even in this response, they're not 100% honest. There are a lot of cars out there, I'd highly suggest you buy one from someone else.
