This past Wednesday 9/11/24 marked my third visit to Ritchey GMC for routine service. Unfortunately my first two visits were not without issue as was this third visit. On the 9/11/24 visit I booked an a Ritchey GMC for routine service. Unfortunately my first two visits were not without issue as was this third visit. On the 9/11/24 visit I booked an appointment for 2 pm for full service and tire rotation. Upon arrival at the dealership everything on the vehicle was working normally. During the span of servicing and tire rotation I was informed at check out that all 4 of my TPMS sensors had gone bad and needed replacement. As a result they were unable to reset my sensors so that my tire pressures would display on my vehicle diagnostics. I advised my service advisor that everything was working a little more than two hours before. Now I realize these sensors do go bad but all four in the span of a little over 2 hours while being serviced is somewhat difficult for me to comprehend. At this point the service advisor when to the service manager, Bruce Dorph who after discussing the issue it’s me offered to split the cost of the 4 new sensors. I did not find this offer acceptable at which point he asked me if I had an extended warranty on the vehicle at which point I told him I thought had expired. He then asked what me what my deductible was under the warranty which I told him was $100.00. At this point I reminded him this was my third issue at the dealership. He said he wanted to keep my business and he would call me once he came up with a solution. Well the service was on 9/11/24 and today is 9/17/24 with no response. I did find it interesting that a received a telephone call yesterday from I assume someone at the dealership asking how my service experience was. I told her I was still awaiting a response on the issue and she said she would forward my concerns to the appropriate individuals. That was yesterday and as of today so far still nothing. I think it’s safe to say at this point that Ritchey GMC has been disappointing to me as a customer. As a side note the initial cost of replacing the 4 sensors was $673.92. Since I now am faced with having these sensors replaced elsewhere I’ve checked three fire shops and found that he service can be performed at a much lower cost. On Tuesday afternoon 9/17 I received a call from the service manager, Bruce Dorph. He said that he understood I was trying to reach him and he reminded me that he did not have the sensors in stock yet. I was aware that he previously told be they had to be ordered but I was expecting a call from him as to what he saw as a solution to my concerns. I suppose this was a case where expectations were not clearly communicated. In any event he made a fair and reasonable offer to settle my concerns and he scheduled the appointment for 9/19. They took care of my concerns and I appreciate it. More
Abysmal dealership and service department. Over the years, I have owned dozens of GM vehicles, from personal to commercial, and have never once been treated like a second-rate citizen. When yo Over the years, I have owned dozens of GM vehicles, from personal to commercial, and have never once been treated like a second-rate citizen. When you purchase a $100,000 vehicle, it means little these days, which is shocking in today's world. We live in Ponte Vedra, and my wife had engine failure on May 4th, 2024, in her 2022 Yukon Denali XL with 55,000 miles. The vehicle was towed into Ritchey for service via OnStar's recommendation. It was deemed from the GMC warranty that the entire engine had to be replaced due to failure. That was the start of the headache. While it was in, we were told to rent a similar vehicle as Ritchey GMC would reimburse us for the rental cost. We verified that a similar vehicle means an XL-styled vehicle, as we need it for our family of 3 boys. The service advisor (M@##Y) said yes. We rented a Cadillac Escalade from Avis for over three weeks at a cost of $3432.21. After the vehicle sat and was finally "fixed," we drove it home. When we went to pick up our vehicle, I submitted all of the required paperwork (May 27, 2024) to the service advisors and GMC. A couple of days later, we started experiencing engine failure again. This time, we brought it to a local GMC dealer near Jacksonville. They checked the vehicle out and found that the prior service department failed to install a ground cable, which caused significant engine power loss. I had to pay another $352.81 out of pocket as GMC doesn't cover faulty workmanship. I was assured AGAIN that Ritchey GMC would reimburse me for the cost. I have been waiting for almost four months. I have hired an attorney to get me +$3800 back from this dealership. Over 20 emails, numerous phone calls, and voicemails later (most not returned), I was promised in writing that Ritchey would send a reimbursement check. My pockets are still empty. Lies, Lies, Lies. I will never ever buy another vehicle from this dealership. The sales person asked me to remind him about things because he had a lot going on, once the deal was closed, I was asked for more money dealership. The sales person asked me to remind him about things because he had a lot going on, once the deal was closed, I was asked for more money due to a mistake made in their paperwork and then once I took the vehicle home, it didn't start after sitting a few days. The salesman came to our home to start it but he couldn't do it either. We finally had it towed to the dealership to check it out. I had requested that a couple scratches be repaired during the negotiations but was told they couldn't do it. When I picked it up, it appeared all but one scratch had been fixed. So now, I'm home 2-1/2 weeks and the paint is bubbling! The service dept told me that Buick had to approve the warranty covering this expense. We have purchased two Cadillacs and this Buick and all have had problems. Like I said, we will never deal with this outfit again. More
I purchased a 2023 CT4 with Rep sales Reno, I told him what I would like and that I have researched for availability throughout Florida and GA for the best deal, but I wanted to keep the business local. R what I would like and that I have researched for availability throughout Florida and GA for the best deal, but I wanted to keep the business local. Reno mentioned that he had ordered a similar vehicle I wanted and it was in transit. He when over the options and cost. Purchased in cash that same day, waited a few weeks and was kept updated on arrival, when it finally arrived and introduced, I was more than pleased, the vehicle was more than what I expected, the staff was beyond helpful and welcoming.
