Proposed $1100 of unnecessary work on 4 Runner Took my 4 Runner in because of engine light. It was a $70 fix, but they had a list of about 10 other things they said I needed (and thought there migh Took my 4 Runner in because of engine light. It was a $70 fix, but they had a list of about 10 other things they said I needed (and thought there might be a transmission leak that needed fixing). Estimated cost was $1100 without transmission. I declined but took the car to our full service station that has done routine service in all our cars for 25 years. They went over everything on that list and checked the transmission. Not one thing was needing to be done in the car. Called Mr Rodriquez , the service mgr at Toyota and left a message. No response. More
