At Ricart Ford Service, we genuinely wish every repair was simple. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Damage caused from water, or other substance violating electrical components in a vehicle is extremely difficult to diagnose, as water entering any electrical part is not good, and often leads to a cascading failure of other components, requiring replacement of first one piece, then the next, then the next on down the line until all failing components are replaced. Add to this the difficulty in acquiring aging parts to make a repair, and the result is a very lengthy, costly effort. We are adding a discussion of repairs of this sort to our continuing training in an effort to find the best way to relay the difficulty of repairing such issues, and the best way to convey the time and cost which can accompany this type of repair as clearly as possible to any customer facing an issue like this, so they can make the best possible decision for their situation.
