I purchased a new honda vehicle in 2021 from Regal Honda and at negotiation with sales and finance people, it was agreed that servicing would be covered for two years or 25,000 miles whichever came first. and at negotiation with sales and finance people, it was agreed that servicing would be covered for two years or 25,000 miles whichever came first. Firstly the new car came with wipers that were scraping the windshield when activated. This was reported and the car brought in. It was checked and the diagnosis was that the wipers were not faulty but that the mechanics of the hardware itself were. They ‘fixed’ the problem at no cost but now the problem persists. I took car in for servicing today October 3, 2022. The wiper issue was reported but not checked or changed as this is not reflected on the invoice. Upon picking up the vehicle, I was told there was an amount of $82.28 to be paid. I queried this, having been told at negotiation, that this was covered as per terms mentioned above. Note here, that I had the vehicle serviced before at no cost. Upon challenging the cost, with what we negotiated, the gentleman advised that this was not the case and that there was no such arrangement for servicing in place. I then asked why then was the first servicing done gratis, and was given some lame explanation that the ‘sales department probably paid for it’. ‘Probably’: no way to verify for certain, in such a big and established institution, exactly what the case was. I insisted on what we were told at negotiation and he then checked with the Finance Manager who apparently advised him this was not the case, and that we had to pay the amount, but that he could provide us with a $20 ‘coupon’. This is not the first dishonest thing I have had happened to me with Regal Honda, the other story is long gone and I decided against writing a review previously but this is too much as everything with honda regal seems to be fraught with deception. We have a service contract in place but they are saying that this does not cover servicing, and by the many exclusions contained therein, I would be surprised if anything were covered at all. They always find a way to wiggle themselves out of stuff. One thing I hate is to be made a fool of because it reflects on me as a liar when these things were discussed verbally and the signing of documents glibly explained to soothe the moment’s anxiety about signing a document with lengthy and deadly fine print. This is not good enough. Car dealerships generally add on a lot of stuff, supposedly to protect you the customer, but when the time comes, they back out and say it’s not for this or that. Nothing ever seems to be really covered, it begs the question then, to what end but to rip people off and this is not good enough. I will NOT recommend anyone to do business with Regal. My experiences over the past year and a half have been less than satisfactory. More
