He found me everything I was wanting and more for my price range and after looking at three different makes/models. I feel in love with my 2015 Lincoln MKC. Owen Shackelford was my salesman. Super courteous, very friendly, respectful and for car salesman very honest and a genuine person.. There was no dog and pony show. SCAM! This is the absolute worst dealership and group of people I have ever dealt with. Weird scenario but our car broke down. Called.... long story short a This is the absolute worst dealership and group of people I have ever dealt with. Weird scenario but our car broke down. Called.... long story short after many phone conversations and emails, they agree to take our non operable car as a trade in. We made the demand that if we got there we had to have a vehicle because we had no other way home (1 hour away). Again, no problems!! “You will definitely drive yourself home!” Dealt with Owen Shackleford; at first he was great, again this is all over the phone as our car was inoperable. He said “no problems with the trade, we can get you in $0 down, and less than $400 per month” We informed him several... several times we were looking SUV, we have a large family, 3 kids, plus us. Also, we are not little people we are both on the taller side, and have meat on our bones, so a car really is not a good fit. We listed the SUV’s from the website we were interested in. Again no problems!! Definitely get you in. Owen told us about this car.. 2009 LOADED Toyota Avalon, and I mean LOADED! This thing almost drove itself!! We told him we would look at it but still we wanted to see SUV’s before cars. Fast forward, we have our vehicle towed in, Owen greets us on the lot, friendly, very helpful, seemed like a nice guy, not the typical car salesman. He says “Let me go grab that Avalon, I really want you to see it in person.” Uggg eye roll okay sure... lets see it. We test drive it, again very very nice car, we get back to the lot..... and here the troubles begin... Owen says, so what do you think?? Its nice, its not a “no” but we would like to see some of the SUV’s. Instant, INSTANT personality change. He turned into a JERK! He says “K, pull down there lets look.” His face, attitude, tone of voice everything goes down the can, because we wanted to look at a few more. We pull to the side lot..... okay this has 190,000 miles.... this has smaller backseat than the car...then comes the vehicle we were most interested in “we checked, this one wont work for you” then more excuses on the others on the lot. We talk, and are told there is nothing other than this car on the lot that we can get into............. Add Kirk Myers to the mix, we sit at the table Owen and Kirk present us with a paper showing trade in, price, and monthly payment.... slightly higher than what we asked for but okay.... and there is a down, but we can make a payment plan for the down, as long as if the bank calls we tell the bank we put that amount down. Otherwise the bank will cancel the loan. Here is where it starts to get good, paper work drawn up everything signed we leave in this car and head home. Next morning I have a bad feeling like something was not kosher. Price of Car on website $11,999 Price on paper during negotiations $13,000 Price on Contract, $13,325 Not only is this getting under my skin but I start boiling because we are in a car not an SUV that we were told we could get into. So I called back to the car lot don’t give my name and ask for the price of the vehicle we really want, this is what I was told by Owen over the phone “ that is a very unique vehicle it doesn’t have a price on the website because that’s a vehicle that we use to put people into that have really bad financial problems or are really hard to get financed it has a lot of wiggle room“ I instantly hang up and call my wife. We agree, something is off. My wife tells me that she was told by Owen nothing on the lot was priced under $12,000 I call back, dont give my name, and I speak with Kayla, and I ask if any vehicles are under $12,000, “oh yes we have several, listed off 5 or 6 cars, I ask her any Suv’s? Yes and listed off 5 or 6 and started with the one we really wanted! My wife gets on the phone with Kayla, and tells of our concern, she tranfers to Mike... what a joke of a guy, he tells my wife “the bank tells us what price we can sell our cars for” we immediately call BS and Mike transfers to Kirk. My wife tells Kirk she has a bad feeling about the situation. Then Kirk “tips his hand” and asks “why, because you think we have done something illegal?” No, for these reasons here: 1- multiple options including Suvs- LIE 2- $0 down - LIE 3- payment under $400 - LIE 4- price changes!! Well Kirk tells my wife he will work on it and to call him the next day. Something about his question about legality sparked my mind.. Why would he ask that?? So I contact the Attorney Generals office- Spill the beans... Guess what- they suggest that if it is not resolved, we need to retain a Lawyer for Bait and Switch! As well as contract violations and misleading information. We drive back to the lot, Kirk says well if you want SUV i can put you in this one... $350 a month, no down payment...NO NO NO NO WE ARE DONE! We want to cancel the contract and get our trade back. He agrees but tries to BS his way around. Well I call him out, told him I had contacted the AG’s office and everything they said. Not once did he deny breaking the law!! He looked terrified that we had “caught” him! He said something about not being able to prove phone calls, I then informed him ALL of our communications had been recorded. Phone calls recored, emails saved and printed and text messages saved and printed where we were promised and told one thing.... until we got on the lot and started the process. He simply agreed and showed us the door. We shook hands and walked away. Back to square one no vehicle but I am free and clear from this group of LIARS! I told my wife, the payment being more than we asked for would have been okay if we truly liked the vehicle. Case is we didn’t, we were hustled into it! It was not a good fit for us and we were forced into it. At the time of this review a complaint has been filed with the AG’s office. Even though our deal is done and over, we cannot turn a blind eye to this type off activity. Too many good people in this world do not need to be taken advantage of like we almost were. More
