Worst and most expensive service I took my truck in to get a door handle replaced and four wheel drive to be looked at the guy quoted me 150 dollars plus or minus a few dollars those I took my truck in to get a door handle replaced and four wheel drive to be looked at the guy quoted me 150 dollars plus or minus a few dollars those were his exact words and said it oils be an hour job well 3 hours later and now I'm down 300 dollars!!! After subsequent visits and continually going higher up the chain of command, I was finally able to get someone to help me. They dealt with the Warranty Company and Courtesy Subaru to fix my vehicle. They also let me drive a brand new Silverado, free of charge, during the 2 months my car was being fixed. Through their customer service, they gave me an entirely different view of their customer service - they actually care about their reputation and customer satisfaction. Original review (Sept 2015) I bought a '07 Subaru with under 100,000 miles. Two days after purchase, I noticed the car was blowing smoke upon start-up. It turns out that the engine has a faulty piston ring, which requires a need short block engine ($4000). Due to the amount of time it had been sitting at Rapid Chevy, I didn't notice the issue when I went for a test drive. In speaking with the dealership, they were unwilling to take any responsibility for selling a faulty product. They simply dismissed my concern and issue. I was simply hoping that they would at the very least have their mechanics inspect the car. Overall, it fits the stereotypical "used-car lot experience." More

Don't get me wrong, my experience at Rapid Chevrolet was friendly and seemed pleasant, but just wait. I bought a 2003 Chevrolet Duramax from these guys. This year motor has a known problem with the factory injectors so I asked the salesman Rico if the factory injectors had been replaced. To which he replied that he believed they were done. After, purchasing this vehicle from what seemed like a trust worthy fellow I soon realized that there was something wrong with the pickup. Turns out the factory injectors had never been replaced. Rico lied, and Rapid Chevy still wanted $4,800 to fix what is now my problem. The initial friendliness was a huge front. I understand a used vehicle is never going to be perfect. My problem is that a Rapid Chevrolet employee lied about a crutial component on a vehicle that I specifically asked about, and I bought the vehicle based upon what he told me. Then Rapid Chevrolet does nothing to stand behind or take responsibility for the misleading information or bold faced lie as I like to call it. I am basically told it is my problem now. What seemed like a pleasant first time dealership experience has turned into a financial disaster. With the bad injectors, this pickup isn't worth half of what I bought it for. Now I am stuck making payments on a vehicle that I have to leave parked in my driveway. Due to the almost $5,000 repair, I cannot afford to fix this pile that Rapid Chevrolet dumped on me. Rapid Chevrolet, beings a local dealership, I would think that you would stand behind the information given by your employees. You should have taken care of the injectors, because the price I paid was for a pickup in excellent running condition. However, that is not the case. This is why I would give you 0 stars if it were an option. I will also continue to share my story to any and everybody for years to come. I was lied to. What reputable business does such a thing? If you would take care of this problem and treated me as a valued customer, perhaps things would have been different. More

I got to Rapid City and my truck started making a bad noise on the right front wheel. I was 2,000 miles from home with no phone service ,and was sweating bullets wondering what I was going to do. Luckily I was near Rapid Chevrolet and pulled into the parking lot. It was almost closing time but Bill Sumners took the time to schedule me an appointment for first thing the next morning, and even gave me a ride to a local hotel. The wheel bearing was replaced first thing in the morning and I was on my way to a great vacation in the Black Hills and Badlands. Bill and Rapid Chevrolet were able to turn a horrible situation into a great vacation. Great experience with this dealership and service department.Thank you. More
