Alex Petrushin has been honest, straightforward and easygoing since the beginning.I have always tried to see if any other NY and NJ dealers can beat Ramsey Subaru's price and nobody could even come close. I never understood why these other dealership could not beat Ramsey Subaru price since I assume they want my business too. They probably do not believe that I can get such a low price from Ramsey Subaru and probably thought I would come back. Unfortunately they were wrong, even after I went shopping for my second Subaru. In any case, I highly recommend shopping at Ramsey Subaru as they will beat any other Subaru dealer price. Not only that, the service is excellent and I was able to do all the communication and negotiation with Alex through the phone and email. Service Nightmare This service department epitomizes the car service nightmare. I brought in my perfectly smooth running, well-maintained vehicle for a quick check up b This service department epitomizes the car service nightmare. I brought in my perfectly smooth running, well-maintained vehicle for a quick check up because I’d noticed that it was consuming oil faster than usual and they assured me the oil consumption was perfect and instead recommend $1,200 worth of totally unrelated "urgent" repairs, to be safe I allowed them to perform these “repairs.” They told me they could have it done in a few days, but it was a week later and it was still not ready. After phone call after phone call I decided to just remove it from their care but suddenly when I showed up the repairs had been done and the part they’d had me waiting on had miraculously come in. I took my car home and paid their fees and just decided to not return to them. However, it actually gets worse. Within 4 months my car broke down for EXACTLY the oil issue I had brought it in for that they assured me did not exist. The oil issue caused total engine failure, leaving my perfectly running car suddenly worthless (and stranding me in 2 hours away from any repair shop). Then when I called to discuss what they could do for me, they denied all liability, and directed me to their corporate offices who, after 2 weeks of deliberation, redirected me back to the dealership who continued to deny any liability. They argued that since they didn’t make the repair they were not liable, so if they decide to just ignore your problem it’s on you. I didn’t realize it was my job to diagnose and supervise the repairs with them but for your sake I hope you do. After 4 months of back and forth with them I still could not get a hold of their service manager who was conveniently always out of the office. He finally called me back after months after I had just given up and sold my car as scrap. This service shop is a total scam. They make thoughtless repairs so you have to keep coming back to them. Every mechanic I've worked with since cannot believe that they could not identify such a typical consumption issue that those Foresters are known to have, especially since they are SUBARU. Most absurdly of all if Ramsey Subaru had even just repaired the oil sensor light when I’d requested it be repaired this could have all been avoided, but evidently they could not be bothered. Please, I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. They do not have the customer in mind at all and seem to get paid to do band aid fixes that leave you in the lurch. I've never experienced such unbelievable disrespect in a customer service encounter. I will never ever ever go near another Subaru. More
