RUN, do not walk away from this place! While everyone is aware of slimy car dealer horror stories, Pignataro comes out on top. We got the typical bait and switch. We had an email confirming exactly what w aware of slimy car dealer horror stories, Pignataro comes out on top. We got the typical bait and switch. We had an email confirming exactly what we wanted and what we would be given for our trade-in (The trade-in had been approved on an earlier visit). We show up and they are unwilling to honor their own quote. On top of that the sales guy Raj throws a big scene about how we went behind his back. We were contacted by their own internet guy asking if we would buy this weekend. I have purchased several cars over the years and I am a VW owner. The management at Pignataro must be condoning the total lack of integrity shown by their sales staff. We should have read the other reviews that also gave these guys poor ratings. While there are some car salesmen who are at their core good people, none of them work at Pignataro. Bottom line they give VW a bad name. More
My 2000 VW Golf died while driving down the interstate so I towed it to Pignataro. I explained that I thought the car died due to a bad catalytic converter. The Check Engine Light had been flashing just be I towed it to Pignataro. I explained that I thought the car died due to a bad catalytic converter. The Check Engine Light had been flashing just before the car died (only flashes for a bad catalytic converter). They ran their diagnostics at told me that the car had died due to a spark plug that had broken, not the catalytic converter. The service employee again stated that fixing the spark plugs would fix the problem, so I could take the car to my normal service center. I paid over $250 for four spark plugs installed. Drove off the lot and had my car die not ¼ mile down the road. I called back to Pignataro and was told to pay for a tow truck to bring it back and they would take another look at it. I then asked to talk to the service manager who said, “We fixed the problem, the came in not running and you were able to drive it off the lot.” More
Dishonest, say anything to make a sale, still using old sales tactics to force you to buy, sleazy, slick, over bearing sales staff! Putting $2000 above sticker as NW Adjustment - this is just a way to get sales tactics to force you to buy, sleazy, slick, over bearing sales staff! Putting $2000 above sticker as NW Adjustment - this is just a way to get more money out of you. Just go to Carter VW they told me without even asking they make $1300 at the sticker price which I respected the honesty - that amount is fair given the overhead and the man's commission. No Haggle - No hassle! More
Jack Pennington is the friendliest, most accomodating service manager I have ever met. In an effort to provide a level of service that turns customers into loyal customers he emphasizes to his departmen service manager I have ever met. In an effort to provide a level of service that turns customers into loyal customers he emphasizes to his departments' employees what it takes to make a "customer," a "loyal customer." In a word...integrity. He and his department take full responsibility for what they do. If it is fixed right the first time, no one ever hears about it, but if it isn't fixed right the first time...EVERYBODY HEARS ABOUT IT, but in a way that is non-threatening, and it becomes a learning experience, and not a witch hunt, or accusational, public blood letting. Jack has the best possible resources, too. he has 3 technicians that are the most talented I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Randal Fenton is the shop foreman, and the encyclopaedia/genius/master technician whose knowledge, and level headed, un-emotional, tactful, meaningful explanations are, in almost every case the right ones...period. Robert Sween, a deeply talented, and entertaining technician who can explain the most complicated system/component in a simple, distinctly refreshing, and entertaining way, and it will be right on the money. Sean Ash, a serious, detail oriented technician with experience in independent repair situations...professionally, that have rounded him into the one guy that, if one of the technicians, or salespeople, or finance people need something done on their own car, by golly they want Sean to do it, because it will be done right, will work right, and it will be done efficiently...ie., on time. The personnel within Mr. Penningtons' department are second to none. It is my understanding that there are 2 more technicians with combined experince, in Volkswagen, Porsche, and Nissan that combine to OVER 50 years...in just 2 men...Dave, and Tom. Without question, if you want your Volkswagen fixed correctly, and as soon as is humanly possible, then Pignataro Volkswagen is your ONLY choice in Washington state. Unequivocally, they are the best at what they do. In a business that handles the mysterious combination or emotional attachment for a customer to his, or her car, and the downright mechanical, cut, and dried mechanism involved, there is no other place to get a feeling of understanding for your "attachment," and the unemotional mechnical "coldness" of a machine balanced out. I have never been disappointed, and I have personally bought a GTI, a Passat, and a "New Beetle" convertible, and my ex-wife even bought a car, used, an Audi, and has it serviced there too, with great reviews, and expectations not disappointed. Joe, and Tony Pignataro are excellent owners, because they reward, and retain talented people. I think most everybody that works for them are some of the best at whatever they do. Freindly goes a long way, and everybody is freindly. More
Steve Allman has been the used car manager for Pignataro Volkswagen for a number of years now, and has an unrivaled understanding of the people that come in to look to buy a car, and also an unprecidented u Volkswagen for a number of years now, and has an unrivaled understanding of the people that come in to look to buy a car, and also an unprecidented understanding of the talents of his sales-staff. Mitch Pak, the new car manager is just as talented at understanding what buyers are looking for. My family has purchased 4 cars from them, and their staff, and other friends of ours have purchased 3 cars from them, for everybody in the family with the legal right to drive. The thing I appreciate most whenever I sit down to talk about a car with Steve, or Mitch is the fact that (1). They know their inventory, and I've done my research too, but they always make me feel good by saying something like, "I just learned something from you(meaning me)", and it makes me feel good that they acknowledge the fact that I've tried hard to learn about the product I want. They reinforce me, while I'm there, and (2). They always seem to have just the right person I can relate to, on duty, with the patience to show me the latest, and greatest feature, if that's what I want, or the "handsome fellow," or "lovely lady" who can describe, in depth, the operation, the feature, the thought behind it, and the benefit to the overall design, and/or to my lifestyle. I'm happy to add that at the same time they are trying to sell me a car, I'm confident in the product due to the obvious money they have spent of the dealerships money to make it look good, but also to operated properly, safely, and correctly. Volkswagens, and Audis are tremendous products, and fabulous examples of German engineering, and they spare no expense, it seems to make them all look great, drive great, and give me the feeling that I am spending my money well, with excellent value for the dollar spent. I may always be able to find a similar vehicle "cheaper" elsewhere, but I'm always asking another question at another dealer...If I buy it here, how soon will it break,...and when I buy it at Pignataro Volkswagen, I'm asking only, how soon can I take vacation and really enjoy this car out on the road... My grandmother had a saying: "There's no substitute for quality." At Pignataro Volkswagen, they didn't know my grandmother, but they ascribe to her statement. More
