Traveled 90 miles to find model, color, options and good deal. A dealer near my home had new hatchback Versa SL's at a $2,500 discount; but when I visited to see a particular car in acceptable colors ad deal. A dealer near my home had new hatchback Versa SL's at a $2,500 discount; but when I visited to see a particular car in acceptable colors advertised in "Car Trader" I found it had been sold for so some time, and not removed from the site. Then, when I expressed disappointment to the very young salesman, saying I really did not want a black interior (like every one on his lot) he suggested that the real problem was with my choice - that "nobody else wanted the lighter colors" This might have resulted in a lost sale for Nissan. I went two dealers down to test drive a Hyundai Elantra Touring, but the Versa's better seat comfort, fuel economy and price won out. I was familiar with the Versa hatch, having driven my daughter's '07 SL for 18 months while she was away at school. I found the car I bought on line at DCH Freehold, and all the better for it having been leased to the dealer service department, with just 1500 miles, and at several hundred dollars below the new ones nearer home. I called and arranged to buy the car, and was able to negotiate a price consistent with the Carfax guide. The car was the right color in and out, and really as new. The staff I worked with were cordial and competent, the salesman being especially helpful. The only pre-purchase glitch I experienced was that both the Internet manager and he kept misidentifying the exterior color as "Super Black" and not "Espresso Black" ... the ad was in error, but the picture clearly looked right. As I was coming from a distance on account of color this was disconcerting. It was a busy Saturday afternoon and the sales pitch for the extended warranty was tedious, but I concluded that this manager was just doing his job. I opted no, and for the certified warranty only, but opted yes for protectant inside and out, which was well applied. The service workers missed only a few small black marks on the rear seatback, which cleaned away easily. I'm afraid the work of the company DCH used to handle the out of state registration and tag process was not inspiring. I purchased the single temporary tag option available for a non-NJ resident: 20 days. Only three days before my NJ temp tag was to run out, the salesman received a message that I needed to take the car for inspection at the DE DMV before the process could continue. Turned out it was only an official VIN check that was required. Certainly it shouldn't have taken 17 days to find that out, and it necessitated my buying a second temporary tag in DE to keep driving the car. It took nearly six weeks to get the permanent tag. To be fair, the dealer manager had told me just before I left that they hoped for less than a month, but it might take a few days more. This said, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another car from this dealer, if they had the particular car I was looking for. Great car, and a good deal from a dealer which appeared to be doing well, and from my experience deserves to do so. More
I test drove a few cars in one day. I almost drove by the Nissan dealer but I'm glad I stopped. Shay was extremely nice and easygoing about the entire experience. He mentioned certified preowned which I the Nissan dealer but I'm glad I stopped. Shay was extremely nice and easygoing about the entire experience. He mentioned certified preowned which I hadn't thought about. I was able to get a 2012 Altima with a few miles on it for a decent price. I felt no pressure at any point during the whole car buying experience. I like that Shay handled the entire negotiation without subjecting me to endless back and forth with a "closer" . It was the first car buying experience that I felt the dealership was respectful. Even Sal walked me thru all the financial documents answering all my questions with so much patience. I highly recommend DCH Nissan to anyone.. More
Going to this dealership was a great experience. We did not feel pressured to buy and David was very helpful, friendly, and not pushy whatsoever. If you have ever bought a vehicle before then you already know its a risky business. I, like many of you I have been to numerous dealerships and even worked at one. I've seen and heard it all. I was shopping know its a risky business. I, like many of you I have been to numerous dealerships and even worked at one. I've seen and heard it all. I was shopping for a pre-owned car and I wanted a lot for my money.... of course. I walked in ready to haggel but was quickly put at ease when sales person Howie Salska beat my number by over a thousand dollars, they didn't have to do that but they did. Haggling was over as soon as I sat down. They worked with me throughout the whole process and never tried to ambush me with extra fees, its was pretty cut and dry. Although a pre-owned, they brought my car up to full specs! As if it were new. I didn't leave the dealership and have to go to a repair shop and replace anything on the car. I got an oil change at the Nissan near me and was told by the service dept "you got real gem." I priced my car at other dealerships, similar and identical vehicles, even lesser cars. My car in ok condition ran in upwards of 18 at other Nissan dealerships and between 16 and 17 at random lots. I paid a little over 13 and she was mint! I thought something must be wrong with the car. But no, nothing at all! Most pre-owned cars you just inherit the last owners problems. Not in this case. Thanks for making it easy, Jonas. More
Dave, Chris, and Ryan were extremely helpful and really seemed generally concerned for my needs in choosing a car. Dave is an extremely warm and nice guy who is what a model car salesman should be like. seemed generally concerned for my needs in choosing a car. This man needs to be the president of the whole Nissan dealership chain because everyone needs to see how a true gentleman/car salesman conducts himself. I highly recommend this dealership. More
