Mr. Rivera not only asked what I was looking for but wanted to no why I was looking for a certain model so he could show me all my options. When I got to the dealership Mr. Rivera had our familys new Grand Caravan ready to go. This was the best experience I've had with a dealership in my many dealings. I had the worst experience with this dealership, Putnam KIA, than other dealers I visited locally while I've been shopping for a brand new car. I was originally quoted by Mark Pillsbury on Monday Januar KIA, than other dealers I visited locally while I've been shopping for a brand new car. I was originally quoted by Mark Pillsbury on Monday January 16, 2012 at a price of $17,661.00 for a 2012 KIA Forte Koup EX car, if I qualified for KIA financing with KIA's incentives and discounts it would be that quoted price and was informed if I didn't get the financing I could pay the same exact price with CASH. CASH is what I originally told Mark Pillsbury when he asked how was I going to pay for a car. Mark Pillsbury & Mike Kavorkian have lied so much on everything to me that their noses should have grown like Pinnochio's. I put a $500.00 deposit on a 2012 KIA Forte Koup EX car 1/16/12 which they got for me as a trade/swap from another dealership & then my car was listed on their website "FOR SALE", which they were offering it to the public & any customers who came into their dealership could take it for TEST DRIVES in this car that was supposed be reserved for me since I gave them a deposit. I was not given any copies of all the paperwork I signed of sales forms and requested it many times, as they are required to give to me all signed forms per the Connecticut A.G.'s office and they even note that on the bottom of their retail PURCHASE ORDER form asking if I received a copy of it. The fact that this firm had my car available "For Sale" on their website and it wasn't just there for inventory purposes, it was up for sale even I thought a deposit meant they couldn't sell it to the highest bidder. I was under the impression that this car would be held for me and not offered to the public; the price kept changing on their site the weekend of 1/20/12 till 1/23/12 + test drives offered when people called to inquire about the car including the CT. Attorney's General office staff. Even family members + friends I asked what was their view on if I had put a $500.00 deposit on a car I was going to buy, meant to them and everyone's answer: "its reserved for you till you cancel your deposit". Somehow they created a new city & zip code on the paperwork for my information on their paperwork - and Mark Pillsbury's 1st answer when I asked about it & what he said was wrong and not true "We obtained that address from the copy of your RI driver's license" and I said, they couldn't have as that's not what is on my driver's license or I told you. Mr. Pillsbury then went on say I gave him my address that way & then he gave another b/s line that he obtained it from an Internet lead which had my Providence, RI 02903 as where I lived. When I searched for cars, I only have listed my zip code as where I live of 02886 to find me dealers within 50 miles of where I live in Warwick, RI. I requested copies of all the forms I signed with Mark Pillsbury be sent to me by email or mail and he questioned "WHY" and I replied I wanted to see everything about this purchase since he had provided me any copies as required by CT laws. It took him and Mr. Kavorkian 17 minutes while I was on-hold to send me a blurred copy of a form called a "Retail Disclosure" sent as a JPG file and not as Adobe PDF file that most businesses use when they scan a form like the sales forms I signed. This unclear unreadable form was useless and I found as part of the attachment Mike Kavorkian forwarded Mark Pillsbury before it was sent to me - and that it had 2 attached files. The fuzzy unclear form of 18K and the form also had a legible but smaller than a paycheck stub form of 663K of this JPG file. I also was aware that JPG files are used for photos and pictures and not document forms that are usually PDF files or possibly a Word file. Mark Pillsbury explained when we spoke last Saturday 1/21/12 that the blurred unclear form was the best he had to offer and he read over the form to me on the phone - when I questioned things listed and his response "We can go over everything when you come pick up the Titanium Forte Koup 2012 car next week/Monday." When I was finally able to have a copy of their "retail purchase form" and was given a copy by Mark Pillsbury on Monday 1/23/2012, that again was hard to read, very light, many items unclear and prices not able to view. Mark Pillsbury then offered to show me the car which was in their service area, he first said he would need to put gas in it for me to test drive; even though he knew I was coming as I emailed 45 minutes before I left to arrive at Putnam KIA. And I assumed Mark Pillsbury would have a full tank of gas in the car. I turned on the car and saw 68 miles as the mileage which was also listed on their "retail disclosure form" and questioned how could this NEW CAR have this much miles on it as it was BRAND NEW. Also Mark had told me on Thursday 1/19/12 when the car got to their dealership that it arrived by truck as that's how they also delivered the car they swapped, so it couldn't have had 68 miles. His response was "We drove it back to Putnam, CT from Norwood, MA and that's how it had that mileage". And I was already told on Friday Jan. 20th, 2012 the car had only 10 miles on it, when I had spoke with James Rivera, one of their salesman, over the phone when I first saw my car that they had a $500.00 deposit on & they had the money from my bank, with its exact VIN number on their site available for sale and to call for pricing. James Rivera didn't want to give me the price and that's all I asked for, then started offering me that I could buy, finance it and when could I schedule a test drive of the car. James Rivera, put me on hold to verify the price even though it was the ONLY 2012 KIA Forte Koup car in Titanium color in their building and also gave him the stock number from their website where the car was listed. I told Mr. Rivera all I wanted to know what was the selling price so I can see if I can afford that car. He gave me the price finally and said again "Would I like to come in today/Friday for a test drive of the car as it up for sale if I wanted to buy it". Over that weekend I saw the price change on the car with the exact VIN# I was provided by Mark Pillsbury and its the exact VIN# I gave my insurance company for my policy to insure the car. I knew something was not right but just went with the flow and said I would like to sit down with Mark Pillsbury and wanted to ask a few questions. I asked Mark if he could give me a copy again this time in person of all the forms I had signed on Mon. 1/16/12 which he was like "Why do you need them ?" and he went to do that & brought me 1 copy of the sales form. I asked if he could give a better copy and he said that is the best he could provide. I asked Mark Pillsbury about why this sale form/order I signed wasn't sent to me by his email or in the mail through the post office, when I asked him over the phone on Saturday 1/21/12 and his reply "Its the same as their retail disclosure form which it wasn't since my signature wasn't on their "retail disclosure form". I then told Mark I had some questions on many things on their "retail disclosure" form which I had enlarged and made it easier for me to read + semi-understand. While I went through my questions, Mark got very nervous, very defensive and kept saying "We discussed all of this of pricing, accessories, DMV prices last Monday 1/16/12 when I signed the form. And when I was at Putnam KIA on Monday 1/16/12 I had 2 friends with me who said to me all last week, where's the papers as proof you're buying the car?". All Mark Pillsbury gave me on my 1st meeting with him on Monday was a copy of the credit card slip for my $500.00 deposit and their CASH receipt form again with my address incorrect of city and zip code + their car checklist. And I showed him all I was given and showed him my incorrect address again on their receipt form. Mark then got more defensive, seemed more unsure of himself, and said let me get you someone else to explain more details and information to me. That's when he brought Mike Kavorkian to his desk and I went with Mr. Kavorkian to his office and asked him my questions which I felt were important since I was about to pay over $18,000 for a car & now the car price had change dramatically from what Mark Pillsbury had quoted me on Mon. 1/16/12 and Mike tried to explain things and made no sense and was trying to answer my questions without any logic. I asked Mike Kavorkian why their "retail sales order" form was so different than their "retail disclosure" form they had emailed me on Sat. 1/21/12. Also I found out & noticed it wasn't posted in Mike Kavorkian's office with other state licenses on his wall, that they don't have a R.I. dealers license to register cars and Mark Pillsbury & Michael Kavorkian tried to add DMV fees into my price of the car as the sales price. I had the DMV fee schedule with me which I showed Mike Kavorkian while in his office and this dealership had increased the 7 % RI sales tax + registration fees out of wack so much that it stood out on their paperwork. I told both Mark and Mike that I would give them my own personal check made payable and signed to the Rhode Island Division of Motor vehicles as I've done with previous car dealerships with car purchases; for them to take along to register my car as they offered at the RI DMV in Cranston, RI. And Mike Kavorkian reply was that they added these DMV fees as part of the sales price to make it an easy purchase for me and to save me time. When I showed Mike Kavorkian RI DMV registration forms that are used for registering the car, and he and Mr. Pillsbury had told me their dealership had registered many cars for clients and that they were very familiar with the DMV forms. When I showed him the RI DMV registration form, his answer was "Nothing is correct from that website of the state of RI DMV and that I must have created that form yourself." And I offered him to look on the RI DMV site on his computer at his desk to verify that it was the correct form or that I could boot up my laptop I had with me and show him that way. He refused to look at the DMV site with another b/s excuse. This car they swapped from a Norwood, MA dealership showed all that the accessories they billed me for was on the car before they got it - And this information was on the others dealership's website in the description of the car including the 2 accessories I was billed for already on the car. When Mark Pillsbury told me on 1/17/2012 at 7:00pm that he had the VIN# for the car they were obtaining for me that he would email to me to provide to my insurance company and he sent me that email at 7:32pm. And I found out and learned when I put the VIN# into a Google or Yahoo search that it tells you where the car is, about the car, its carfax history and more. So I learned what this 2012 Titanium KIA Forte Koup had with it for equipment and accessories, and right there on the other dealership's website showing the car I was getting with that exact VIN# was the 2 items Putnam KIA tried to bill me at wrong prices too according to KIA's website and I had that proof. Same for the simonizing - a brand new car doesn't need that & again it was already done at the previous dealership they traded the car from. Mr. Pillsbury & his co-hort Michael Kavorkian falsified the sales form I had already signed. It had the Jan. 16, 2012 date on it, and I didn't speak to Mark Pillsbury about the 2 accessories/extras till Tuesday Jan. 17, 2012 when charges must have been made for 2 items to be added. Even on their "retail purchase order for motor vehicle" form had the wrong "trim design" of this exact car when it was an EX model and their form shows it as a SX model. The mileage of this car was not on their "retail purchase" order form and just circled, but their "retail disclosure" form they emailed me did list the mileage of the car with a date of Jan. 21, 2012 on that form and the mileage shown is 68 miles, plus included is the description of the car type and correct model and the exact VIN# for that car. In my meeting with Mike Kavorkian after he kept giving me runaround answers and kept interrupting my questions while I was half way through them, I was fed up with his lies and the same of Mark Pillsbury's. Mike Kavorkian again answered with a reply that like he pulled it out the sky. I then asked Mr. Kavorkian why was the DMV fees added into the sales figures/costs as every car I bought and I'm 51 years old and have purchased many cars, I never seen it that way. I showed him print outs I had of the car I had reserved with a $500.00 security deposit advertised on their Putnam KIA website showing it on Friday 1/20/12, Saturday 1/21/12, and Sunday 1/22/12 and questioned Mr. Kavorkian on this. He then said, "That's impossible, and referred to my notes of the conversation had on Friday Jan. 20, 2012 with his salesman, James Rivera, of the availability of my reserved car and how his salesman, James Rivera, gave me the price on that day plus offered to schedule me to come in and test drive the car and how I could buy it. I offered Mr. Kavorkian that he could see this information on my reserved car on their website right now, available for sale with a new price with my laptop using his firm's Wi-Fi signal to see the car up "For Sale". I had even checked before I left my home that day if the car was still available for sale and the latest price and it was at 10:15am on Monday Jan. 23, 2012. Mike Kavorkian got super defensive and called me "a liar" and I said that fits him and Mark Pillsbury more since that's all he and Mark and their staff have given me with my purchase of a car from their dealership. Mr. Kavorkian couldn't and wouldn't give me a straight answer of why my reserved car that their firm had taken a $500.00 deposit on and also how their firm already received the money from my bank on Tuesday Jan. 17, 2012; How they could have my reserved car for sale since they took my deposit ?? I told Mr. Kavorkian I was done with his b/s and wanted to cancel this transaction, I wanted my $500.00 deposit back and that's it and I don't want to deal with any of his crap that day. Mike, of course, said we can work everything out and re-write the sales order and able to work with me. I asked again about registering the car and the fees added in and how could they could they actually register the car for me without a RI Dealer's license and he said, "We're at the RI registry all the time registering cars for customers" and I asked can he show me their RI Dealers license as proof. Mike got flustered and then said "We know the prices and the forms to use to register cars in RI, we do it all the time. We were just there in Pawtucket, RI for over 4 hours registering a car for a customer and it was a long process." The main office of RI Division of Motor Vehicles/Registry hasn't been at their old Pawtucket, RI location for over a year and the DMV has been at their Cranston, RI new location since and if Mike Kavorkian's staff were at the registry last week he would know that. Also car dealers go to a special faster section to register cars and are in/out within an hour to do their business. Again another big lie from Mike Kavorkian and I was now pissed off and said, get me your sales manager or owner, I want my deposit back and am not leaving without, so get up and go get him. That's when he brought in Mark Dexter, who started his sales pitch and asking "Don't you like the car and the deal we got for you ?, Why do you want to cancel this purchase ?". I told Mark Dexter, that his staff has lied to me since day one and that this car that I gave a $500.00 deposit on Monday Jan. 16, 2012 was up for sale on their website and Mark gave me a surprised look and said, "That couldn't be" and I then said, Would you like to see the proof on my laptop I have right here and we can view his dealership's website and we could do it together with him and Mike Kavorkian ? He gave another odd look and said to Mr. Kavorkian, "Cancel his order, but Mr. Lavik you owe money for all the work we did to this car we obtained for you. We added splash guards mud flaps, sport pedals plus simonizing. And you would need to pay us for all of that." I replied, that's another lie and I have proof right here on a print-out from the other dealership where they swapped the car from showing the exact same VIN# and all of those features were already on this car when it arrived at your dealership's door. Don't try to be a con-artist like Mike Kavorian & Mark Pillsbury have been to me. I'm not that stupid, Sir. I again said I want my $500.00 deposit back and am not leaving with out. Mark Dexter said "we will then bill you at your address for those fees. And we have a team of lawyers that can sue you, Mr. Lavik". I then told him don't try that threat with me, Mr. Dexter and you don't want to attempt that. I've already sued the RI DMV with the assistance of the RI ACLU for something else beginning in Sept. 2011, I have won and an now in negotiations with them, the RI Attorney General's office, and I won't deal with your threats. I said give me back my deposit as credit on my Mastercard charge card and I want it now and that's it. Mark Dexter then said "We'll send you a refund in a few days" and I replied, you took my $500.00 deposit via my credit card, just swipe my card the same way and give me a credit the same way. Mark Dexter then replied, "We know how to do that" and gave him my card. It took Mr. Dexter 8 1/2 minutes to come back with the receipts for me to sign which was odd. And then gives them to Mike Kavorkian who says "He signs one of these ??" and Mark Dexter says "Give him a receipt too." While I'm signing the receipt, Mike Kavorkian says "We have your address wrong like you said earlier ?" I replied, YES and gave him my correct city, and zip code. And I now had to ask Mark Dexter to please return my credit card and he hesitated and I said, its my card - thank you. Mike Kavorkian then gave me a copy of the receipts and their Putnam KIA receipt which again had my address wrong, and I'm sure that wasn't a coincidence. My zip code was now wrong on their receipt form. And then Mark Dexter shook my hand and I asked for the contents of my sales file in the folder, which he refused and asked "Where did you park" and led me to the closest door and I left. I have an odd feeling while it took Mark Dexter so long to get my credit card receipt and card swiped, that maybe he made a copy of the front & back of my Mastercard. And I still want all the contents of the sales folder about me as I don't trust these people and want all my personal information returned to me. Also the car I intended to buy is still up for sale on the Putnam KIA website and again at a new lower price. I would never refer anyone to this dealership or recommend them as their staff are liars and pure low-lifes. Marc Lavik Warwick, RI More

We were looking at the possibility of purchasing a new Kia, and made an appointment to come back in to test drive the vehicle. We were interested in a particular color and we were told that it could be d Kia, and made an appointment to come back in to test drive the vehicle. We were interested in a particular color and we were told that it could be delivered from one of the sister dealerships. We place a deposit down to ensure the opportunity to purchase the car if we liked the test drive. Peter had us sign documents, and when we asked him why we were signing, he told us that it was preliminary. We adamently told him that we did not want a credit application pulled, as we have other means of financing the vehicle. He assured us that it would not be pulled. When we came in to test drive the car, we were ushered into the finance manager's office. He had run a credit application. So, ended our experience at the dealership. We were misled by Peter about the documents we were signing, and if he knewe it was a credit application, and we didn't want our credit pulled, he should have ended the process at that point. Later that evening, we had some person named Maria of Customer Service call us congratulating us on our new purchase of a car...news to us!! I attempted to call her six times to discuss this matter, and have yet to hear back from her. More
