Rip-off dealership: strong arm service tactics prey on unwitting women. I am normally a Longo Toyota customer, but I bought my last one at Puenta Hills because it was closer to home & they matched Longo’ unwitting women. I am normally a Longo Toyota customer, but I bought my last one at Puenta Hills because it was closer to home & they matched Longo’s price. The sale wasn’t too bad except for the high pressure to purchase an additional warranty and other unnecessary stuff. So my mechanically naïve wife started bringing her Toyota in for the recommended Toyota service. At 15K miles, she was gouged for a wheel alignment and tire balance-not cheap. I never needed that so soon on any other vehicle. I should have taken the hint, but.. At 20K she brought it in for lube & tire rotation as recommended by Toyota, but was strong-armed into a $300 fuel system and power steering treatment that I have since found out is not at all recommended by Toyota. So much for thinking I was getting Toyota service at a Toyota dealer! When I challenged this, the service manager agreed to refund the $300 charges for the unnecessary work, but he later claimed that he did not remember that and besides my wife authorized the work. How did the service writer determine she needed the work when she initially only authorized the $69 oil lube & tire rotation? At only 20K miles why would anyone think to access the throttle body or power steering system? The only work under the hood was to add oil – seems pretty fishy. The only thing under the hood that needed touching was the oil fill cap. I now feel that two of the vehicle’s systems have been tampered with-if indeed the work was accomplished- and I am concerned of future negative consequences as a result of the unauthorized service that is not even discussed in the Toyota maintenance manual. Verified a car at a specific price in an email to me on 1/10, told me in an email on 1/13 that the car was there, and after driving 100 miles through LA traffic on a Friday afternoon, I found out the car h 1/10, told me in an email on 1/13 that the car was there, and after driving 100 miles through LA traffic on a Friday afternoon, I found out the car had dealer-added leather seats and chrome wheels, for $4,000 over the price quoted on the email three days before. It was obvious they felt that after spending three hours in traffic, I wouldn't "pass up the chance" to get the car as they put it, and could "negotiate" for a reduction in price on the add-ons. Beware their Internet Sales department ... they employed the same sales tricks that car salesmen have employed for ages, including "standing room only" closes and bait and switch tactics. More
I went there looking for one specific Scion, a Limited Edition Xb. When I found out that it was beyend my reach with my trade in, we looked at an Xa. They bent over backwards to get it for me at the month Edition Xb. When I found out that it was beyend my reach with my trade in, we looked at an Xa. They bent over backwards to get it for me at the monthly payment that I wanted. Diane was very friendly as was all the staff, except the guy in the finance department. When I told him that I wasn't interested in an extended service contract, he got all cranky and mad. More
It was my first car buying experience and I was a bit nervous since I heard so many bad things about dealers and car sales persons but it turned out to be a fantastic experience for me.
I researched i nervous since I heard so many bad things about dealers and car sales persons but it turned out to be a fantastic experience for me.
I researched internet to find out invoice price and TMV before I visited there. (I dont want to be ripped off and also rip off other people as well)
Puente Hills had huge, Huge inventories, several 100s of cars in the lot already. It didnt take me much time to pick the car with exact options I wanted.
Finance didnt take much time either (probably its cuz I have 700+ credit score) More
Buying a car is a big expense and a harrowing experience, especially if you are a woman. Today, I visited your dealership. I looked at cars, trucks and SUVs with no one bothering me. At first it was okay be especially if you are a woman. Today, I visited your dealership. I looked at cars, trucks and SUVs with no one bothering me. At first it was okay because I can look at everything without being hassled. But after going through all rows of cars, trucks and SUVs and no one asked me if I needed help it became apparent that car salespeople do not like helping women. After I got there and before I left I just stood around watching them flock to the men as soon as they get out of their cars.

Once again I was proved correct that salespeople think buying vehicles is a man's "thing".

Sincerely

E Connolly More
I guess im the first to write a negative about this dealership. Trust me, from my experience, you do NOT want to go to this dealership. I went because about 4-5 people said it was good especially with dealership. Trust me, from my experience, you do NOT want to go to this dealership. I went because about 4-5 people said it was good especially with the remodeling.. I liked it, they had coffee, tv room, car rental center and free Wi-Fi and everything.. but you know what? Don't be fooled by that.. you can get all that stuff in a local cafe or some starbucks.. don't risk wasting your money, getting ripped off, and wasting time just cause it LOOKS nice. VERY long story short.. i bought a used car there. Sales dept was just very demanding and wasn't a good experience. I come home, find about 10 things wrong with the car, take it back for the 30day wrnty, hoping they would fix a squealing coming from my car ALL the time. I go, they refuse to do it because it's not a "mechanical" problem or something like that.. Then i found BIG blotchs of spray paint work on my car which didnt turn out to be the service dept but the used car dept sprayed over HUGE gashes and dents to cover the work up. I couldn't tell until (3 days after @ the dealer picking up my car) the sun was out and it was reflecting. Fast forward.. sales manager was very rude, said he didn't WANT to replce the parts because too much labor, didn't care about customer satisfaction, told me a car that has VERY defective paint. (among other problems) Then, i couldn't get any help from ANYONE.. i waited 30 minutes for 2 different managers and they all were "busy" or didnt even answer the page knowing I had a complaint. Please, i have nothing to gain by writing this post but DO NOT go to Puente Hills Toyota. I gave them MANY benefits of the doubt because of some recomm, turns out they don't care about customer satisfaction at all. By the way, the refusal to do work came from not only the Used car dept that sold me a defective car with massive amounts of problems.. but also the service dept. some people tried to help me, but over all the managers shot down their proposals to help me. From experience, this dealership is NOT one that i recommend no matter how good their facility is. However, the dealer people WERE really friendly. The receptionist, managers, works, salespersons... (except Sales Manager and Finance Manager)... they are really friendly so i gave them benefit of the doubt.. but turns out, they're friendly but the outcome sucks more than people that are rude to you and at least get the job done. NO to Puente Hills~ They will NEVER EVER get my family, friends, coworkers, peers, roommates, church members, any MY business ever again.

Conclusion: No to puente hills. friendly, but doesn't get the job done, and wastes your money, time, effort, etc. More
