I just traded-in my 2006 Toyota Avalon for a 2011 Honda Accord V6 at Rick Woodson Honda in Roanoke, Va. I have to say, of all my automobile buying experiences, this one rated at the top of the list. My s Accord V6 at Rick Woodson Honda in Roanoke, Va. I have to say, of all my automobile buying experiences, this one rated at the top of the list. My salesman, Carless Craighead, was knowledgeable, capable, and efficient. Best of all, he was not pushy. “The speed of the customer was the speed of the salesman.” I would have no hesitation recommending both Carless and Rick Woodson Honda to friends and family. Larry was very patient with us as we wanted to drive and sit in several different cars. He never made us feel like we were keeping him too long or we were being too indesicive. When it came to the negotia sit in several different cars. He never made us feel like we were keeping him too long or we were being too indesicive. When it came to the negotiation Larry listened and did not make us feel like we were being pushing or asking too much. We came very prepared with what we were interested in off the computer and then found out there was more inventory on the lot than in the computer. Larry knew by then what our price range was and could tell us some other models that fit what we were looking for. Every step went smooth and Larry was very accomodating and very knowledgable. Unfortanately this time we did not go Honda, but Larry did not hold that against us. Our Camry is very beautiful. We also put an extended warranty on it; mostly for the onboard GPS system. Larry also recommended the Zylon(sp). The difference between Larry and other salespeople selling this product is that he showed us on a peice of paper he had. We have been offered this product before, but never shown what it can really do. As they say seeing is better than hearing. We have used Honda dealerships for over 20 years and since moving into the area we haven't found anything yet. Well we found our home at Rick Woodson Honda. With salespeople like Larry we will always buy our cars there and recommend everyone we know to him. We will also take both our cars to them. Sincerely, Steve & Jill Carmagnola More
Mr. Haley has handled the negotiation and three year leases for two vehicles (2008 and 2011) for us. Throughout both he has been consistently knowledgeable, available, courteous, and helpful, without b leases for two vehicles (2008 and 2011) for us. Throughout both he has been consistently knowledgeable, available, courteous, and helpful, without being overbearing in pursuit of the "deal" for himself and his employer. I would not hesitate to recommend this individual and dealership. Other members of the staff appear to share these qualities. More
My daughter had a really bad experience with this dealer. My daughter had a really bad experience with this dealer. Her Honda was having problems so she called Rick Woodson Honda and they said bring it down and they would look at it. When she arrived they told her, we can't get to it today, leave it overnight. They took her keys and told her to call Friday. When she called they said her car had been burglarized. When she went down there her car was on blocks. Her brand new tires and custom rims had been stolen. Also they had went into the car and stolen her JVC stereo system. My daughter being a college student and part time Food Lion worker has very limited income, so she did not have full coverage insurance to cover this theft. When she asked the dealership what they were going to do about this they said we are not responsible. They were rude and basically she said it was her problem not their's. My daughter's insurance company said they would file a claim with Rick Woodson Honda's insurance company if she could find out the name of the company. We ask the dealership for the name of their insurance company and they flat out refused to give it to us on more than one occasion. So we contacted the owner, Sally Woodson-Spigle about the matter. She said we are not responsible and we are not paying. My daughter entrusted her car to these people and was let down big time. She has been upset and crying now for two days. Several other customer cars were burglarized that night too. Information involving this incident can be reviewed in Roanoke City Police file: case # 11-002526. It appears to me that the dealership is willing to protect their own property, but not the property of their customers. My conclusion: avoid Rick Woodson Honda and entrust you vehicle and property to a dealership that is willing to protect it. More
I was very impressed with the "no pressure" sales approach. Ray and others answered all of my questions, gave me a good price on a new, Basic Honda Fit, and made financing and pick up an easy and fa approach. Ray and others answered all of my questions, gave me a good price on a new, Basic Honda Fit, and made financing and pick up an easy and fairly fast process. I have bought many other cars and dealt with many dealerships (including purchase of a used Honda Civic from Woodson Honda 11 years ago) and this was definitely one of the best experiences I've had (I remember that the earlier purchase from Woodson went well also). I hope I don't need to use the service department often, but I'm confident that I will receive high quality service there also. More
Steve was great. He greeted me with a smile and I didn't feel him pressuring me at all to buy a car. I told him what I was looking for and he showed me what was on the lot. He gave me all the information that I needed and even let me take a test drive. Afterwards, we talked about the price and we were able to work something out that fit my budget. Thanks Steve! More
We had a very positive experience working with Bill Sizemore recently when we bought a new car. He was very friendly but not " pushy" at all. After purchase of the vehicle, he worked to minimize the t Sizemore recently when we bought a new car. He was very friendly but not " pushy" at all. After purchase of the vehicle, he worked to minimize the time spent in the dealership completing paperwork. I really appreciated this as I have a busy job and did not relish sitting there for hours. He was extremely knowledgable about the vehicle we purchased and showed us in detail all aspects of operation and care of the car prior to purchase. We really felt that he went out of his way to make it a great experience! More
My wife & I were having a bad experience with my attempt to deal with my local Honda dealer. They simply weren't flexible in trying to meet our specific needs. Their approach seemed to be "how much money to deal with my local Honda dealer. They simply weren't flexible in trying to meet our specific needs. Their approach seemed to be "how much money can we squeeze out of this deal" as opposed to "how can we help these potential clients meet their goals"? I new almost immediately that I would have to try and meet my needs at another dealership, even though that would mean a little travel on our part. I went up on the internet to the Rick Woodson Honda website to find a salesman to call & try to deal with. The Woodson dealership even provided pictures of their sales team. There was a friendly looking fella up there with a simple name. George Henry. I called George & found him to be immediately accommodating, which is what you would expect & hope for in a salesman. I laid out a series of points that we needed to achieve in order to do a deal. They included the price we needed to obtain on our trade in. The monthly payment amount & terms we needed to be under. And the peace of mind that I needed to know that I wasn't over paying for this vehicle. (My wife wasn't so concerned about my peace of mind, she just wanted the car.) Instead of trying to explain to me why these needs weren't possible to meet, George simply set about working on making them a reality. My wife & I have just arrived back at the office with our new Honda Pilot EXL. Thank you George. We got the full value for the trade in we had requested. We got the payment terms we needed. And most importantly for me, I will sleep well tonight. Rick Woodson Honda came in at a price way below that which my local dealer said was their best offer. I can not stress to you strongly enough how enthusiastic I am to recommend George Henry of Rick Woodson Honda in Roanoke Va., if you are in the market for a new or used car. Thanks again George.
