I bought my car about three years ago now so full disclosure, the person who sold it to me might not work there anymore. But Troy was truly one of the most memorable car salespeople I've ever met and disclosure, the person who sold it to me might not work there anymore. But Troy was truly one of the most memorable car salespeople I've ever met and for all of the wrong reasons. To start, despite the fact that I made it very clear that it was me selling my current vehicle (owned in my name) and me purchasing a new (well, certified used) vehicle solely, also in my name, Troy had a hard time addressing me. He instead kept asking my husband what he thought about the car, what he thought about the loan terms, etc. I reminded him several times that my husband wasn't part of the discussion since he wasn't purchasing the car, and when I finally hit my last straw with reminding Troy this, he said, to my husband, "fiesty, isn't she?" I just about walked out... I should've walked out, but we were so close to the finish line. I made my terms very clear & explained that the monthly payment wasn't something we needed to discuss, that the interest rate, loan terms, and final ticket price were all we needed to get on the same page about. Troy laughed when I told him that I wouldn't take lower than a certain number on my car, but in the end (after probably a dozen or so rounds of "discussing it with his manager"), my terms were met within a few hundred dollars total. When we finally left, new keys in hand, it was after closing and Troy had already left, letting us wrap up with the finance officer at the dealership. Troy had promised us, as part of the package, that he would get roof racks put on the new car we had purchased. He also told me the tires on the car were brand new. Well, there was no roof rack and the tread on the tires was the minimum they'll accept for their "certified used" cars at Toyota. I had to put a new set of tires on the car less than 6 months later. Thank god we moved to a different state... otherwise, I would never deal with this dealership again. More
