I went into Portland Volvo to look and compare what they had with other dealers. I had pretty much decided I was buying a car at another dealer that I had a decent but not great price from closer to home. A had with other dealers. After looking at the XC70 in the showroom I spoke with Kate MacDiarmid one of the sales people there. I then got a price from them and a trade figure on my XC-90. both in the ball park of what I already had for prices. However, I decided to deal with Portland Volvo because of the ease of the transaction, low pressure, and the forthright manner in which Kate treated me. I was told upfront about costs associated with the transaction. There were no hidden costs after the deal was made and Kate went out of her way to help. She took as long as we needed after the sale to help familiarize us with the car and set up the bluetooth feature in car for our cell phones. I have bought several cars in the last few years and this was by far the easiest place to buy as well as the most helpful. I will definitely go back next year when I replace my other car. More

Peter Boroyan was the salesman who sold us the 2001 Volvo. He knew his subject cold but was very low-key, and never aggressive about selling the car. He answered all our questions and guided us through the whole process. When it came time to but another pre-owned Volvo, Peter was the only person we wanted to see. Again, he went way out of his way to help us meet our needs. In fact, he met with us on two separate days of his vacation just to make sure that the paperwork went smoothly. And upon visiting Portland Volvo to pick up the new XC60 I met with Thomas N and James G. who both added to the exceptional, overall experience at Portland Volvo. Not once did anyone ever impose the sterotypical car purchase pressure that most all other dealers reinforce. If anything they made this one of the few car purchase experiences where I left in under an hour and had the most seemless transition from one brand to a new brand.
