Pohanka VW service has got to be the worst service department ever! I have a 2019 Arteon and I have the tire and wheel warranty. I had a flat tire and switched the spare tire and placed the bad tire i department ever! I have a 2019 Arteon and I have the tire and wheel warranty. I had a flat tire and switched the spare tire and placed the bad tire in the trunk. Service ordered me 2 tires and my receipt states I had 2 tires replaced. However, service only replaced one tire and did not replace the bad tire in the trunk. My tire service replaced has a defective bubble on the tire that could blow at any time and I have no spare. I brought my car to service with a note of the emergent issues that needed to be done and service refused to even look at my car and the Service mgr. Ralph states they don’t have time to work on my car and to pick it up. They could have at least gave me my tire that my warranty paid for! Instead the Service Mgr. Ralph had me drive off the lot with the hazard of my tire blowing, that service put on And I am still WITHOUT a spare tire. Apparently, this is how their service department operates. They discriminate people and put them in harms way. If anything happens to me as I drive, without a spare tire that they refused to give and put on my car. Can you believe, how VW service treats their customer who’s family has bought 3 cars from their dealership. All I can say is that, DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP, because they pick and choose what they want to do instead of their job by addressing the emergent need of a loyal customer. It feels as if the service department is trying to tamper and harm customers instead of assisting them by servicing our needs. I tried calling about the tire, I’ve been put on hold while no one returns and seems they can not find my tire. Because the Service Manager Ralph is untrustworthy and reliable, it leads me to believe all the managers may be this way. Hopefully, by my review I will finally get my tire and get my service at another VW dealership. -Leah Vicente More

DealerRater requires at least one star, but I’d give zero if I could. I brought my vehicle here for a price quote on fixing a P2177 (System Too Lean Off Idle) fault, which I had found/diagnosed myself the day before using an OBD. I was told over the phone (and later in-person) that since my vehicle was still under the 6 year/72,000 mile “People’s Warranty” that any diagnostic fees would be waived and that any repairs needed would most likely be covered too. Awesome, I thought. So I arranged for a ride to the dealership and dropped my vehicle off. Several hours later I received a phone call saying that my warranty would actually NOT cover anything because there was supposedly E85 octane fuel in my tank, which was the cause of the fault. And since VW did not put the fuel there my warranty could not be used. Nothing else was wrong, just this supposed suboptimal fuel problem. I explained that I can say with absolute 100% certainty that I have never, ever put E85 octane fuel in my vehicle. I commute daily for work and go to the exact same gas station every week. I’m pretty sure they don’t even sell E85 octane fuel there...or anywhere. (I’d never even heard of E85 before, but after researching it apparently most gas stations don’t even sell it anymore.) Apparently VW expected me to take their word for this supposed suboptimal fuel that somehow magically found its way into my tank...and then went back on their word and refused to honor my warranty or waive the diagnostics fee like they had previously told me. The options given to me were to pay $800 to drain my fuel tank (which seems absolutely absurd) or leave everything “as is” but pay a $160 diagnostic fee (which I was told on two separate occasions I would not have to pay...not to mention that I had already determined the diagnostic fault code myself and provided it to them). The $0 quote to get me in the door quickly became $800...or $160 at the absolute least. When I arrived at the dealership to pickup my vehicle I asked to speak with the owner and/or manager. I waited in the lobby for nearly 1 hour. Nobody came out to speak with me. The dealership and service department was not busy at all. In fact, all of the employees were just standing around, not working, conversing with each another. There was maybe one other customer there at the time, but it seemed like they knew the VW staff, so I think it may have actually been an off-duty employee. Either way, I waited a very long time to speak with someone at a dealership that was not very busy at all. Because I had other things I needed to do, I eventually just asked to pay the diagnostic fee and leave. Nobody at the dealership once tried to make the situation right or help me in any way. The worst part of this situation is the obvious “bait and switch” tactic used by this dealership. I was told that my warranty would cover everything on the phone...then told the same thing AGAIN when I showed up to drop my vehicle off...then suddenly a few hours later Pohanka VW reneged on that statement and was charging me. Apparently the “People’s Warranty” should actually be called the “Dealership’s Warranty”... because it certainly helped them out, but not me. I’ve had some pretty terrible customer service experiences over the years, but this one ranks pretty high on the list. Thankfully there is a dispute resolution / arbitration clause in my warranty, which I intend to pursue. I will also be filing a negative report with the BBB along along with negative reviews on social media, etc. I don’t want anyone else to have the same experience I did. To my fellow consumers: Avoid Pohanka VW at all costs. Save yourself the hassle, bait and switch tactics, and terrible customer service. Drive the extra miles to Waldorf or Alexandria Volkswagen instead. Or better yet, support your local auto repair shop. That’s what I’ll be doing from now on. More

Falsely list vehicles with wrong prices This dealership list a vehicle for $30000, but when you contact them to purchase, the price changes to $36000. Example: I saw a vehicle with "Dealer This dealership list a vehicle for $30000, but when you contact them to purchase, the price changes to $36000. Example: I saw a vehicle with "Dealer advertised price of 29,381" and confirm with the sales person before moving forward with finance. After finance, the price changed to $36,000. Keep in mind that only rebates/incentives I do NOT qualify for are the College Grad and Military discounts which is approximately a $1000 total. So my question is, why is there such a huge variation in your "advertised price" and the true price? Avantage Volkswagen had the same vehicle for $30,771, which I purchased for $30,295+tax/tabs/license....not $36000. More
Horrible pricing model for EVs Listing prices that deduct the EV tax credits should not be a method to draw attention to your listings. Once I was on the phone with the manager, the Listing prices that deduct the EV tax credits should not be a method to draw attention to your listings. Once I was on the phone with the manager, the pricing came back over $7000 move than the listing that was labeled as the "Honored Price" This price listing model must not become standard practice for dealers. From my point of view it is false advertisement as it did not mentioned the "Honored Price" included the deduction of the tax credits. The only mention of the tax credit was, I quote "qualifies for a $7,500 Federal Tax Credit." I will add that the sales advisor was very helpful and courteous. My view changed when I spoke to the manager that seems less helpful and couldn't explain why they go through certain processes that would not benefit anyone. More

After 2 days of attempted repairs and diagnostic testing, I was informed there was a part required for the repair and it needed to be ordered. I spent $1521.15 and I am STILL uncertain of the status of the delivery of the part and my sunroof remains unrepaired; which I find absurd and appalling. Moreover, neither the parts nor service manager has contacted me regarding such or have returned my emails or calls. As a customer, I should not be responsible for initiating contact or follow up to obtain a status update; I would think it would be the opposite. Moreover as a woman, and Disabled Veteran I feel taken advantage of by this dealership. More

Great first time car buying experience! I called ahead to make sure the car I saw online was still at the dealership. After confirming this, we went to the dealership that same night and dro I called ahead to make sure the car I saw online was still at the dealership. After confirming this, we went to the dealership that same night and drove home with a new car only 3 hours later! Mike was extremely helpful and made the experience a breeze. He took us on a test drive and then walked us through the price and paperwork. Couldn't be happier with our new Jetta!!! More
